I was skeptical at first to not look around for others for comparison, but looking back, I'm so glad he did. Looking through James' portfolio, I liked his visual style. And meeting him, I knew he'd be fun to work with. James was a consummate professional. He walked us through the process (since I was a first time bride), was affable and incredibly low stress to coordinate with, offered valuable creative suggestions, incorporated our personal preferences and personality quirks into the images... and above all else- he delivered absolutely fantastic shots within a timely manner. He was unintrusive during the wedding and reception, and knew how to get the shot without stopping the festivities. He was able to work with a few family members who aren't usually comfortable in front of the camera, and put them at ease. I was particularly grateful for that. Even our family and friends said they were bad. Half of the photos were very unflattering (mouths open from people talking, double chins from people looking down, glares on people's faces from awkward angles). I regret him not taking pictures of our rings. We were very accommodating and invited him to sit and eat with us at the reception. He said we didn't pay when we did a month in advance, also the pictures took a week longer than what his contract said, and he misnamed my husband as Greg and not Gabe on the photo file. I gave an average pretty good 3 stars rating because we are going to use half the photos so, not bad and not the best. Once he saw that he had gotten an average honest rating, he started lying saying I was giving out bad reviews, which I have never given any reviews below 4 stars and then he rudely emailed me because he wants nothing but 5 stars regardless of how a couple feels. I guess once he gets your money he doesn't care how long it takes or how the photos look...and if you don't give him 5 stars then he'll start bashing you with lies. Worst experience ever

I found a Groupon online for Ron Parks Photography and went…read morewith it because the price seemed reasonable when compared to the shining reviews... but alas, you do get what you pay for. I hired Ron Parks as my photographer for my family maternity shoot. My initial phone conversation with Ron was great in that he went over the details for the day. We let him know that we wanted to shoot around the city of Georgetown, TX; he confirmed and also added that we could utilize his studio that was located above a coffee shop, as it had a huge window with a beautiful view and would make for nice silhouette photos. Ron also advised that we could have as many outfit changes as we wanted during the hour shoot. I couldn't wait for the day and told my husband and daughter to plan for at least one outfit change. The day of the shoot came and we waited for him in the coffee shop like he asked. Once he arrived, I thought it strange that we didn't initially go up to his studio to talk about the shoot or prep, but we went with it and began our family photo shoot around the beautiful city of Georgetown. After the first half of the shoot it was time for an outfit change. We weren't escorted to his studio, but instead, back to the coffee shop to use their restroom to change into our second outfits; my husband changed in the car. Odd, but the general experience of the shoot so far was enjoyable, so we continued. As we neared the end of the second half of the shoot, I asked Ron about his studio idea with the view and the silhouette pictures. He responded that we would have to climb a number of stairs to get to it and mentioned a few other things that deterred my decision to want to go to the studio to finish the shoot. On any other day I would have pushed the issue, but I didn't because I was 8 months pregnant, wearing heels and getting pretty tired. At the end of the shoot, Ron offered us another photo package in which we could purchase the entire shoot of over 100 photos for a reasonable price-- we purchased it. We were advised to give him about a week to send the full photo DVD that we purchased. After 3 weeks of no word, I sent him an email to check on the status; I was advised it was in the mail. Once we received the disc, my family and I sat down to review the (over 100) maternity shoot pictures. I was almost immediately unimpressed and disappointed in the quality, lighting, creativity, poses, and general look of the photos. In most of the photos around the city where we were positioned in front of windows, either Ron or a member of our party's reflection was in it. The results just did not strike us as inspired or professional in quality at all. Of all of the photos we paid for, we only liked about 6 of them. Overall, Ron's a very nice guy and we had a fun experience, but I would not choose to go with this company again for a significant photo shoot.

When getting married, the one thing I wanted to make sure I had more than anything was beautiful, true-to-life pictures of the wonderful patchwork of family and friends that would likely never be together in the same room in the same combination again. Not only did Zach deliver photos more gorgeous than I could've imagined, I had zero stress about it in the run up to the event. It was fantastic to be able to talk candidly to Zach about what I wanted and feel heard. I wish this was the case with all wedding vendors! Zach shot our engagement and wedding photos on the San Antonio Riverwalk. We talked before hand and I told him I'm not a staged pinterest-y bride, but I wanted beautiful candid shots with bold, bright colors, and he did not disappoint. I received hundreds of incredible photos back within two weeks of the event, and literally wept in an airport while looking through them because he was so able to capture the love and fun of our event. It was such a whirlwind night that there were parts I didn't even remember that I got to see waiting for me in the photos. He did an incredible job prioritizing the people that matter to us so I could see in my family's faces how they were feeling. He caught all the important moments and then some, and we even threw in a dog and some children to make his job hard, and he handled it all with aplomb. If you want to make sure your event is captured with the life and joie d'vive that accompanies real life, Zach's your dude. We had such an incredible time, and now I have the best pictures I could ask for to remind me of our big day forever. My family is all gaga over them, too, and there's so many lovely family pics, dance floor action pics, ceremony and engagement with perfect light, perfect colors, and feeling radiating through. I call dibs on Zach for our 10th anniversary! I wouldn't trust anyone else to photograph so important an event after the perfect experience we had with him!

He was wonderful for my bridal portriats and wedding etc. I never had a problem getting a hold of him within a timely manner. Most of the times I received an immediate response. I was referred to him by one of my good friends, and she had the same wonderful experience we had. He is priced affordably and will travel. We had great quality photos and he took the time to pick out special parts of the reception venue that he wanted to photograph us in. He was good about getting us on track about getting certain photos for the night. When you actually get to the reception, you are so overwhelmed and it is all a blur. It is nice to have someone that will keep you on track without being overbearing and pushy. I think a lot of people don't realize that a great deal of work goes into wedding photos on the bride/groom side also. You have to communicate what you want. Everyone wants something different.
