I called for four consecutive days, multiple times each day, without receiving a call back. On the fourth day, I received a call after hours, only to be told they were going to put me back on a medication that didn't work well for me. I was out of medication for four days, which was an unprecedented situation for me. I'm 29 and suffer from chronic interstitial cystitis. It was incredibly frustrating to call multiple times a day, only to be told, "We will send a message," but nothing was done. I was informed it would take too long to resolve my issue, and if I didn't like it, I could find a new doctor because Dr. Joel wasn't going to help me. I was asking for an alternative to a medication that my insurance denied, one that Dr. Joel had suggested and prescribed. There have been multiple instances that Dr. Joel is unaware of, and it's unfortunate that he is getting only one side of the story from his staff. I encourage you to check your recorded calls and speak to your patient care coordinators, who actively tried to assist me. You left me feeling stranded, and for what? Because I was upset that nothing was being done and that I was without medication, suffering from sleepless nights? This treatment is cruel, and I have never felt so crushed before. I trusted your team, and I feel completely treated unfairly. I will be filing a consumer complaint and have proof of multiple instances where my care was not handled appropriately--not by Dr. Joel, but by the front office staff. Dr. Joel, I wish you could hear my side of the story. Whatever was said to you to make you believe I was a threat to your office is not true; I was desperately trying to get help. I hope you take a closer look at your staff, as I am not the only one who can speak to this issue. Thank you, Desiree, for taking away the only doctor who listened to my needs. Dr. Joel, you are not the problem; your staff is, and it's disheartening that they did not consider what I was going through.

They fight for me with insurance, and my needs- which are insane and numerous as a "sensitive type 1 diabetic" for 25 years next week. They have had to fight for the correct insulin to be covered, for my CGMs, for my insulin pump supplies which seem to just need constant new prescriptions... they all do all they can, and deserve endless praise. They quality of care is better here than any other doctor's office I've ever attended, and with MANY other medical issues, including my spine, neurological system, many, MANY muscles- all of that- they have continued to work with me through it all- and certainly never once threatened to discharge me as a patient as someone else mentioned, so if that were to occur, at least right now, I feel would only happen in an extreme circumstance. Joel, aka Dr Salter, is excellent with treatment- both physical and pharmaceutical- he has prescribed me opiate pain medication, a reasonable dosage given my spine is messed up, and clearly needs it- many doctors will not prescribe them despite the obvious need- that alone shows he will do the right thing even when others hardly ever will- that's a big deal for me. I recommend this place over every other local clinic- which I have almost certainly been to, as it took me many years to get to Joel- I was lucky enough that we had a mutual friend, and finally I had someone prescribing what treatment, physical and pharmaceutical, that I truly needed :-) 5/5 and more if I could give it.

I was skeptical to say the least when I went for my 1st appointment. Thank God for Dr. Keller! He explained what he can and can't do because of the insurance policy and hospital policy. I like the fact that he said to me, if you do this, I can do that. I feel like it's a team effort. I went back today and he said he expected to see me sooner. He said he's glad I've lost weight and that we are on the right track. I could go on and on about how great Dr Keller is but I won't bore you. The staff at Mezona are so nice as well. They greet you with a smile and they make you feel like they are happy to see you. If you need an orthopedic dr call Mezona. Everyone there is awesome.

I paid cash for my visit, and I need an itemized statement to give to my healthcare organization to get refunded for my payment. I have called for 6 weeks, and when I finally did get my itemized statement, it was wrong, and I had to do it all over. I kept being told they were behind and they would get it to me when the doctor entered his notes and billing was done. I tried to get the number for the "billing department", but I'm not sure there even is one. I am so very frustrated that even though the doctor was good, I would not recommend this practice due to the office staff.

I am 53 years old,, but super active this frozen shoulder was not working out for me. Let's just say. turning the key for my mailbox or trying to get dressed, reaching in the back eat of my purely simple little tasks along with others. I myself I wasn't going to except this! Luckily I found Dr. Sellers I went in for the Hydro dilatation , it was pretty painless. The only thing I really felt was like a pinch that's when he was putting in the numbing agent then he went to put in the saline to expand my shoulder capsule. I could feel pressure, but it did not hurt with physical therapy and this procedure I now have I would say 87% of my motion and no hurt, I just went in for a second procedure with Dr. Sellers fingers crossed 100% recovery

Other doctors nowadays come in with a computer tablet, barely look at you, check a bunch of boxes, and then leave. Not Dr. VanHelder- he takes the time to sit and listen to you- and he genuinely cares for your health and well being. I know a lot of other patients who have been patients here as long as I have- if not longer. I've also switched insurances three times, and this office has worked with me each time, and they've taken each insurance. The office is a little older, but it's still clean, and has a safe and comforting feel. In a world where everyone has their faces buried in their phones, and everyone is in a hurry, it is comforting to have a doctor who sits with you face to face and gives you the attention you deserve. I recommend Dr. VanHelder to everyone I know who is looking for a great family care doctor.

I am also disabled and it's hard for me to get the energy to make it to the lab so having her come to my home was just so helpful. I just got my results and there's a lot that showed up that will now help my doctors figure out what's going on. I credit that all to Kelle and her processing my blood tests accurately so the tests would come back correct. She also worked with me in getting the lower blood volume taken for each test since I have blood volume issues. Dr. Shaffran would frequently stay late ensuring my Botox injections would be done, she got me to the good doctors that get me to maximum improvement and she always listened. I feel bad that I'd get upset at the waiting room taking soo long as it was just because she gave her patients the time they deserved. You deserved a retirement, but you were an honorable doctor who took her job seriously. Doctors like her are a dying breed. I am sure that compassion earned her place in heaven though. Bless her soul. I miss her.

Someone who will go the distance regardless if you're a textbook case or not. Dr. Shafran ... words can't describe her bedside manner, but once you get past her rough exterior, she's like a little puppy - soft, cute & cuddly. The staff... well, some days are good - some not so good. Overall- I refer everyone. Along with that I let them know that she's going to yell at you but instead of feeling insulted... laugh it's worth it.
