The cost and weekly services for trash, recycle and yard waste is weekly. Im not sure about holidays.

Looking time customer. Got a call saying they did not receive my payment. I called back after checking with my bank, and told them when the payment was made. I was treated rudely,told if I stopped payment and they processed it, I would charged $35. !!! WTF. Soooo...if I pay it again I guess I double pay. Freaking Evergreen is pulling this shxt again with the blizzard where understandably we won't get collection today but they're not going to now collect our garbage until next Monday. We've been a longtime customer of Evergreen. They've never missed a pickup and handle most everything we put to the curb. We love their approach of picking up everything on the same day, every week - trash, recycle & yard waste. I'm dismayed at all the negative reviews I see posted here and question whether they are accurate. read more

They show up every week and take what I put out. Drivers seem friendly. No complaints.

I'm certain Evergreen Waste is under new corporate ownership. I have been using them for over 10 years. Over the course of that time whenever I called they would immediately pick up. It was always the same woman who was local and helpful. NOW, calls go into a recorded phone system and you are placed in queue. You wait and wait and nobody picks up. They give you the option for a call back, which you take out of frustration. They rarely call back. I've been waiting on a yard waste container for over one month. However, they are very prompt about charging me for yard waste service. When a callback is received the number is from Milford. DE. Just like when I get spam calls they originate from a Milford, DE exchange. Hmmmmm. No way evergreen is still under local ownership. Problem is all waste collection companies in the area are national and service is equally horrible. read more

The service itself has always been great. The employees on the street are friendly. However, there is VIRTUALLY ZERO customer service if you call with a billing question. Evergreen appears to have gone 100% A.I. with no human contact. Hold times for a person are literally never answered....2 1/2 hrs yesterday morning an hour this morning. I spoke with someone in marketing and they just transferred me back into eternal hold. It would appear that nobody cares. Very sad. I guess the company has grown too fast and cant handle it. I look forward to a likely buy out to Waste Management or some other company in the future...very sad. read more

So I was told that this was the best trash service company to work with (realtor).So out of the gate signing up went well good prices good customer service then I was told I would receive my new cans 3 trash, yard waste and recycling in 1 to 3 weeks so 6 weeks later !!! After getting the runaround I canceled my service for my next pay period they wouldn't accept any other trash company cans that I have only theirs and they won't give any credits ! So I thought waste management was difficult to work with well evergreen waste somehow found a way to be a bigger waste of my time go elsewhere and be happy ! I thought it was strange that I couldn't just set up services online, and that I was required to call to speak to someone. I was not able to get through and speak to a live person until I made several phone calls over several days. When I finally got a hold of somebody, I was basically told that the only way that I could set up services is by giving my credit card information, enrolling an auto pay, and paying for 2 full months upfront. I was not given any other option. I gave my credit card information and proceeded to open an account. I supplied my email address for the receipt. The transaction felt very rushed after the representative got my card information. I was informed of the date my service would begin and that since it would take up to 2 weeks for the trash and recycle bins to be delivered, I can just leave my trash and recycling on the curb for pick up. 3 days go by and I never receive an actual receipt for my transaction or any sort of written notification that I have started services; no account number, no welcome to the Evergreen family. Nothing. However when I checked my credit card transactions, sure enough I saw a $110 charge from Evergreen dated from when I first called them to set up service. I emailed customer service about a receipt and never got a reply. On the day that I was due to start service, I had my trash out on the curb very early in the morning as directed. I looked up my address in their app and got an error message that no active account exists. I called to find out about the status of my account. I was told that a receipt had already been sent to me... I checked my inbox and spam folder and there was absolutely no email correspondence from them. The representative then told me that they will "re-send" the receipt, which I received immediately while on the phone with them. I was also supplied my account number at that time. I understand that there could have been a network issue that prevented the email from being sent.... But that was not even offered as any sort of consolation. The rep just insisted that an email was sent to me when I knew in fact that I didn't receive anything. When I inquired as to when I should expect the trash trucks to come by my home thay day, I was told that they have no idea and that the drivers can come anywhere between 6am and 2pm. When I returned home that evening, I saw that my trash and recycling was still on the curb , where I left it, and yet it appeared that all of my neighbors that have EWS had their bins serviced. I called and left a voice message about the situation. I did not get a reply. I also sent an email and did not get a reply. I called the following day to cancel service and the person I spoke to was somewhat condescending in her tone. Her attitude only solidified my decision to part ways with their company. She sounded incredulous that somebody would want to close an account in which services were paid for but not rendered. She claimed that customer service representatives probably haven't gotten around to answering my voice message or replying to my email... Which again points to maybe there isn't enough staff to handle the volume of inquiries that come to them in a timely fashion. In my mind, the only acceptable way to rectify this situation would be to have the trucks come by my home on an off day to pick up my trash and recycling. However, from what I've read, there is an extra charge to receive service on your non-service day. No thanks. The rep made sure to cancel the delivery of the trash and recycling bins to my house that I paid the "delivery fee" on, yet in the same breath she also made sure emphasize that Evergreen does not give refunds.... which is fine....because my credit card company certainly does give refunds *shrug* After that phone call, I have yet to receive any written confirmation that may my account is actually closed. I sent 2 follow up emails again with no response. I guess they are still getting around to it..... In the meantime, I will be taking my business elsewhere and do not recommend them based on their poor customer service alone. read more

Unreliable pick up service. Would not come back out after missed pick-ups. They used to be good, but service has gone down hill recently with no signs of turning around. Service has been cancelled and we moved onto another trash company. read more

EG missed my trash pick up and they think it's okay to have me hold my trash for 2 weeks, because they do not have enough drivers to send the truck back to pick up the trash they forgot. Evergreen is the only game in town that can provide our Wilmington, DE condominium community with reasonable pricing for the services we need. But with that pricing come poor office support and a crew that will frequently miss collecting a can or two forcing that resident to have to wait until the following week to get their trash collected. But just when you think things can't get worse, they do. It appears Evergreen hired a new employee that lacks basic common sense. This guy has been removing the "freshly" replaced bag liners out of our two station containers. There was practically nothing in these bags! We put the "full" bags out for collection each week directly beside the station, but this guy can't figure this all out. I reported this event to the office supervisor after learning of it. And then I even posted a large note directly on the container saying DO NOT REMOVE THE BAG LINER FROM THE CONTAINER. So it looks like he can't read either. read more

Evergreen has the slowest and worst customer service ever. I bought a home where Evergreen cans were left behind. I have called 6 times now. Normally a 20-30 minute hold. Each person tells me the cans will be picked up that week. The last person said she would research what is going on a call me back by end of business that day. That was a week ago. I couldn't log into their new system to update info because I needed an invoice number and have always had auto pay so never had an invoice. Tried calling, couldn't get through. Then they didn't pick up my trash the week before my payment was due, wasn't even late yet!!! I have literally called them about 5 times a day for over a week after this happened before I gave up. Then, I texted also probably four times over the course over the NEXT two weeks and never heard back. Finally sent a text to come pick their cans up I was done if they didn't want to help me. Then they finally called MY HUSBAND, not me, so he didn't even know if we were continuing service. He asked to speak with me about it and they said they would call him the next day. They never did. And that was well over 2 weeks ago, maybe 3 at this point!! I get it they have a lot going on, but that's NO excuse whatsoever. read more

I bought a house and called Evergreen June 21, 9 days before moving in June 30th, to start service. I planned to use the previous owners trash and recycling bins but requested a yard waste container. Evergreen said it would take up to a week to be delivered which was fine for my move-in date. As of July 24 the yard waste container has not been delivered. I have called multiple times and each time they say it will be 1-2 weeks for it to be delivered. The customer service reps are unhelpful, do not take responsibility for the problem, and give the impression they couldn't care less about the quality of their service. Evergreen does not respond to emails or voice messages. I requested that a manager call me and that has never happened. read more

The work crew for my home waste pickup demolished the lid to my recycle bin on December 1. I requested a new lid on that day. I wasn't promised a new lid until December 22. Now they've pushed back the repair to December 29. There must have been about 200 pounds of rainwater the last time I brought the bin to the curb. Water destroys the recyclability of paper, so I'm also dealing with the inconvenience of storing my paper waste inside until trash day, read more

Worst Company Ever.... One week there was a car parked in from of the trash cans so the trash men skipped us... Then charged us 75.00 to come back to pick of the trash.... My guess is new management has dropped Evergreen Waste from five stars for most users to 1 star at best. I never understood why anyone would have a bad review for Evergreen. Pickup trash and recycle on time. Put the dumpsters back properly. Pleasant employees. For extra pick up just call, no extra charge. Always a friendly voice on the other end. Well the joke is on us, now that we, and most of our neighbors have changed to Evergreen the service has fallen apart. Started with a no notice change in route, pickup was always sometime after 9:00am then it shifted without notice to between 6:00am and 6:20am then back to after 11:00am back to around 6:30am. First time the truck showed up early no one in the neighborhood had dumpsters out, inquiries were answered by a short tempered person. Next the recycle truck skipped the route, only a recorded message for inquiries. I guess once they have a strong customer base there is no need for any decent customer service. Absolute worst waste disposal company EVER!. My parents had Palmatarary waste removal for over 50 years...NEVER an issue. When this company took over EVERYTHING became an issue. Made several calls to confirm what they would or would not pick up and stayed within those guidelines, only to come home and find only half of the garbage removed. I am currently selling the house so cancellation is a given, but i will go out of my way to inform the new owners to look elsewhere for services. read more

I used to be satisfied with their service but no longer. It seems every so often they change their services but don't feel the need to notify the customer. I called three times today and tried every option offered. Left on perpetual hold to reach customer service, and then a message pops on saying they are too busy to take the call and you are disconnected. WTH?? Then I call back and press * for the call back option, but the hold music continues. Why you would change your pay as you go services for yard waste on January 1 (HUH?) when that doesn't become a needed service until spring. I found out when the bags were just left on the sidewalk. I will definitely be looking for a new waste provider. They started out good but now frankly they are just HORRIBLE. read more

I have been using Evergreen for over five years. I have been very pleased with their service and recommend them on next door app. I appreciate that I can have recyclables picked up every week. I get reminder calls about my payment. Our community has a large number of residents using Evergreen so we all benefited by reduced rates. I'd like Evergreen to be the only trash company going up and down our residential streets to save on the wear and tear of our roads once a week. Did I mention how thoughtful and polite the workmen are who operate the trucks and pick up the trash and recycling? They are hard, conscientious workers. read more

Started out to be good, but it has went downhill ever since. I called to stop service and was told no refunds, fair enough. Keep picking up trash until the end of August, for which has been paid. I see other people say you have to pay for them to pick up the cans, wow, did not see a thing on the bill! If they want there cans, they can pick them up themselves. If I have to deliver them to Evergreen, I will charge a fee also!!! The bill that just came has a rate increase of $9.00. There was also a $6.00 charge for Covid! Had Evergreen since 2014, everything was fine in the beginning. I recently moved & they don't provide pick up in the state I moved to. Well since my account was paid until the end of August I figured that they would reduce my payment & send me the difference. Nope. Unexpected things occurred between my moving and settlement date & I had bulk trash. They expected me to PAY for a Saturday service. Now that's not happening, use my credit & pick it up. Between the moving in settlement date I had to stay somewhere else for a week in another neighborhood that they do pick up in, you should see the way these trash men in this neighborhood were picking up! They took the neighbors trashcan crushed it and then put it back out on the curb! I would not recommend this trash company I have actually contemplated starting my own just to avoid using any of the trash companies! read more

So their website clearly states they will take one bulk item per week. and Just to let them know ahead of time. So after having this service for 12 years+ I call ahead to have a large item removed. They basically left me hanging for a week then told be "they were sorry but they wouldn't pick it up and I had to call another company". this is the 3rd time I asked for a bulk pickup and it was denied. We were the first on our block to have Evergreen Waste Services pick up our trash. Today all but three use them. At the time they were 1/3 the cost of Waste Management and they were not able to pickup large items without a fuss. We just call Evergreen and they'll take a refrigerator, washing machine, anything big once a week. I strongly recommend Evergreen Waste Services for anyone in the area! read more

I hired Evergreen Waste Services ("EWS") to collect trash for my home. They charge in advance and you pay for three months. On March 31, 2023, EWS failed to collect both the trash and the recycling. We are required to separate both. I complained several times and nothing was done. I was not given a refund. The next week, 4/7/23, EWS filed to collect the recycling. I complained several times and EWS agreed to do a pickup on 4/11/2. They never showed. The promised a refund. I never received it. I made 5-6 calls to complaint. Their voice mail does not take messages and hangs up on you telling you that due to "call volume" you should call back. When you do, the system hangs up on you again. EWS does not return phone calls. I tried texting and emailing. EWS does not respond. The one time they did, they accused me of not taking the cans out to the curb. I sent them 4 videos of me taking the cans out and of the cans at the curb. They simply denied what was in the video and claimed the cans were not at the curb. The ignored overwhelming evidence against them. I took videos of EWS trucks driving by, which they do. Often. The trucks just pass by the house and ignore the trash. The next week, which was 4/21/23, EWS again failed to collect all the trash. They left all the recycling. Recycling is required in Delaware and they are required to collect it. They refuse to do so. read more

Lately within the last year, I needed to speak with somone at the office and have noticed your customer service has dramatically declined in being responsive. I have called several times lately all different times and days and cannot speak with anyone about my bill.
