I was told then they were running 3 to 4 weeks behind because of repairs to their equipment. Now they are 4 to 6 weeks behind, atleast! Absolutely unethical to take people's money and then have them wait nearly 2 months to get their beloved pets back. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! If you want your beloved pet home in a timely manner, go somewhere else. It's been a month after I was told 2 to 3 weeks, which at the time felt like an eternity. I called this past Sunday as it was going on 4 and was told I would hear from someone that Tuesday or Wednesday. It's now Friday and I was just told it will be another week. I can't even begin to explain how upset and angry I am. Losing my boy was a shock and devastated me. I just want him home. 4-6 weeks to get your babies back? Unacceptable. Never again.

I offered to come pick up his ashes, as my vet said they are short staffed, do not have enough people to pickup and drop back off. I received a call from a lady named Wendy. She said if I wanted to pay $100 more, they would place his cremation as "priority" and I could pick up ashes the same day I pay, that he was in their "queue" and it would be another week or so. I think that is a horrible policy - the fact that they are trying to make more money off of people who are grieving a lost family member truly is disturbing and disgusting. If they are short staffed, then they need to hire more people. They should be ashamed - people are grieving and you are attempting to prey on their sadness for monetary gain. I wish I could give you 0 stars.

My grandparents are buried at Evergreen Cemetery, with my grandmother passing in 2009. This is key…read moreas we have been trying to get the monument engraved with her date of death for 13 years! My parents had told me that when they purchased the plots and the headstone, they had paid for everything, including the successive date engraving, back when my grandfather had passed. Not knowing the exact terms of the agreement and my parents' AND Evergreen's misplacement of all paperwork, I decided to give the Evergreen the benefit of the doubt. So... I called the office a few times... the first time the lady picked up and answered. I was asking for my grandparents' plot location. She had to look it up and then call me back. When she did, I asked about getting the monument engraved. She said that someone would call me back later... well no one ever did. I then tried calling a few more times and (1) it keeps ringing or (2) I get a busy signal. So I eventually get a hold of someone (I think the same lady) and they said I would have to come into the office to process the monument request. Okay... So on my last trip to Columbus for work, I decided to pop into the office to make arrangements. I was told it was $375 plus tax and that they were hoping the engraver would be by before Memorial Day. The guy wrote up the transaction and I paid with my credit card. He then proceeded to ask the lady behind the desk to place the write up with all the engraving requests (about 30 in queue). Well, I see her put the document in a large envelope file folder of papers. I am just hoping that it was the right folder and that it will not get misplaced! They said no one will call to confirm the engraving was done and that I would just need to see when I visit (like what?!). Well I will be back before Memorial Day and then check. Review may be modified then...

Looking to honor my grandfather, I decided to surprise the family and purchase a headstone for his…read morefinal resting location in Cleveland, Ohio. I did some research to support my local Columbus businesses and decided to go with Evergreen Cemetery. The representatives were amiable and attentive to what I was looking for regarding a gravestone for grandpa. After placing the down payment in March of 2021 and being told that the led time was estimated to be around eight to ten weeks, I would receive a follow-up call on the status of the stone. While in Cleveland, where I take mom (who's elderly) up a few times a year to put flowers on her dad's grave, I decided to stop by the office to check the status of the stone. As mom and I talked to the representatives in Cleveland at the cemetery, they informed us that they had not received any correspondence from Evergreen. (Should have been RED flag) The representative in the Cleveland office provided me and mom paperwork for hours of operation, a point of contact, telephone, fax, and e-mail information, and the requirements for their process. Upon returning to Columbus and going to Evergreen, we were informed that the stone would be back-ordered, which was okay, and in turn, I provided the information given to me by the representative in Cleveland to the representative in Columbus. In addition, the gentleman went above and beyond and called the manufacturer while mom and I were in the office to secure the work order and update the delivery status. In the hopes of having the memorial stone laid for his December 1st birthday, which has come and gone. The final payment for his gravestone was made on September 7, 2021, and I had not received an e-mail, telephone call, or text message from the office regarding the arrival. The way I found out was driving to the cemetery in realizing that the headstone was delivered to Evergreen instead of the graveyard in Highland Hills, Ohio. In the months after full payment of the stone, I've still received (no) type of updates via telephone, e-mail, or text of the memorial's progress. As it stands, over the past few months, I have been the one to initiate the telephone calls, visits to the office, and now a letter to follow-up on this matter. Get this, the representative in the office informs me that their reason for lack of follow-up is "We've Been Busy" My answer to that reply was, "As a customer service representative, it is unacceptable and concerning to not follow up with the client on the status of their order or state that the reason I am unable to contact the customer is that we (my company) are "too busy" would result in some form of reprimand towards me since the customer choose my organization." All I want is so form of follow-up communication on the status of grandpa's headstone as we approach 2022. I question, will or can this simple task be performed? I never experienced this type of service and hope the Columbus establishment can find a way to restructure its priorities.

They were very professional, efficient, dedicated, and caring. The funeral director, the limo driver, the office staff, even the motorcade security all took this task as if it were their own family. I think it's awful funny that after the complaint on yelp and them trying to get the comment resented ,all of a sudden they're open to have at least 50 people to attend funerals of loved ones and family members. Since Mc Nabb went out of business, our family has used Diehl-Whittier on a regular basis. The buck STOPS here, I will never endorse their services for anyone that I care about. We come from a very large and extended family. when asked where do you want your loved one to go it's Definitely not Diehl Whittaker. I truly feel that they are insensitive to peoples feelings, they arein a business to give the deceased a proper burial or cremation but they need to remember to have empathy and compassion for the family. It's not all about the money and that's what it seems like what happened with my brother. You are in the business to bury humans and not treat people if they were a cat ,dog ,bird whatever. The Bible says I must forgive in order for my heavenly father forgive me. I forgive the staff of Diehl Whitaker and I will not call names, you know who you are. As for using your service or recommending your service again I (we) choose NOT to. There are many other funeral homes in the Columbus area. Maybe some sensitivity classes would be warranted and some additional training. Thank you Karla Brown
