There are two large sections of this cemetery, one on the east side of Olentangy, one on the west a bit farther up. The east one is older, and a bit harder to get in and out of if there's any traffic. The west one is at a stoplight, and a bit more open and grassy. There is an office at the west one but I didn't stop. Both sections are nicely arranged and well marked. Peaceful, treelined drives - a bit wider in the new section- go through various areas. Well cared for. Sobering, sometimes touching. Woody Hayes and Dave Thomas are buried here. Their website has good maps and information. Between that and the app, graves are easy to find. Worth a visit.

The obituary when posted on Facebook had a middle initial In my moms name. I called to let them know my mom doesn't have a middle initial. No problem they made the correction and reposted. However on the day of the funeral they printed the obituary cards with the middle initial. For my mom I brought in her dress - makeup - diamond earrings and a cross ring she loved to wear. When I walked up to the casket I see no earrings or ring! They forgot to put them on her! Also my mom wore her hair in a long braid and I sent a picture. Very simple long braid with a black rubber band. What they did was put in a blue rubber band laying against a black dress with a silver Barrett with some of the silver worn off in her hair. Looks like they found it on the floor and decided to put it in her hair. The picture I sent was simple braid with black rubber band. Then we were given the name of a pastor that they provide. He was to call me a few days before the funeral so I could share information about my mom. Well he never called. So I called Hill to let them know he hadn't reached out. They said I could meet with him a little before the visitation. I wasn't happy about that but what choice did I have. I meet with him and try to give him some information about our mom and family. He talked about the death of his father and how it affected his family. He literally only said my moms name once the rest of the sermon he referred to her as lady! Her boyfriends name is PJ and he referred to him has TJ!! All of this was so overwhelming. We had also given a video to be shown at the end of the service. When it was played the volume was so low no one could hear it!! Then at the burial site we were to be given the sign in book and the video back. They forgot to do that as well it was left in the hurst the entire weekend. Our family cannot have a do~over!! All Hill could do was apologize and for me and my family that isn't enough. This is your family business how can you literally do everything wrong! I wanted my moms funeral to be about love for her and how much she will be missed. Because of Hills lack of concern or care we were left feeling that we let her down and she wasn't honored they way she should have been.

The funeral home was in charge of the funeral service and cremation. A horrific list of items was either not done or done incorrectly. 1. The viewing started late because the staff had not set up the room in time. 2. We had asked to have my mom's hair braided. They failed to braid her hair. My daughter had to do it. 3. The tribute video playing when loved ones entered the room to see her was a tribute video of someone other than my mother. They had to hurriedly switch it out. 4. We were told we could stream music over Bluetooth speakers. When we were ready to play her favorite songs we were informed they didn't have a Bluetooth speaker that day. We were forced to have a family member retrieve one. 5. We requested several locks of hair to be preserved because she was being cremated. This was not done before her cremation. They are lost forever. 6. We requested finger nail clippings be kept in order to preserve her DNA. This was not done before her cremation. Her DNA is lost forever. I do not recommend this funeral service for anyone. Their prices are low, but there's a reason for it. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and go someplace else. At this point, I don't even trust that the ashes I received are those of my mother. That doubt will be stuck with me for the rest of my life. It's not worth the couple of thousand dollars we saved.

It was clear what services we needed and at what cost. The facility is very nice. They even have a room with a large TV to entertain young ones. The space can hold quite a few people for a service, and they have side rooms they can open up for even more space. The flowers we received that were purchased directly from the funeral home were very nice and stayed fresh for several days. The air conditioner did interfere with the sound system a bit, but it was simple to turn it off temporarily and it was already nice and cool anyway. Trying to think clearly during a time like this is very difficult. I had remembered when my grandparents passed away that Shaw Davis was used and I heard how great, easy to deal with and how affordable it was compared to other funeral homes in town. They have packages that can be purchased which makes it super easy. However we had a very unique situation and they tailored a package to our needs. The total package was excellently priced. The viewing and service went really well. The room was very spacious and allowed for a lot of people, we also used the overflow rooms. The bathrooms were very nice, clean and also had a baby changing table. There was coffee and water for the guests. There was also a large room with a tv where little ones could hang out and play.
