Evergreen Eye Center in Auburn has taken care of my eyes for more than 10 years. I received a wonder eye laser treatment 10 years ago. To date my eyes are great. Dr. Tester is the best doctor around to do this procedure. He checks for everything that could go wrong with your eyes at every appointment. He is so thorough. I highly recommend him. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Dr Tester, however, I had an underwhelming experience with. I initially came in because I was having eye pain. At my first appointment, Dr. Tester told me I had glaucoma, handed me a pamphlet, said come back in 2 months, and walked out of the room. No " this is what the treatments (if any) are; this is what you can expect." Apparently couldn't spare 5 minutes to give me information on what I was facing, treatments, etc. So, for 2 months I dealt with the dread of going blind, relying on the internet for information on prognoses and treatment. At my follow-up appointment, 2 months later, he told me that I don't have glaucoma. But that I have blepharesis ( sp?) and handed me a pamphlet explaining the symptoms, NONE of which I have! I have been a patient for many years and feel that I have received the best care. Everone is very professional anf friendly.

I waited nearly 1.75 hours before being taken to a second waiting room and then waited yet another 15 minutes before sitting and waiting in an actual exam room. It appears they overbook patients and make them wait a ridiculous length of time. I will not be coming back because this is simply disrespectful of a patient's time and money. Even if the quality of care is good at the end, the lack of customer service is unacceptable! read more

I have been so disappointed with my recent cataract eye surgery done at Evergreen eye Center in Federal Way. My follow ups have both been in Federal Way and Auburn, Washington. The office and care staff is cool, aloof and very non-caring. Any surgery follow up care was challenging to get a response to via the phone lines, unless you make it sound like it's an absolute dire emergency in which case they called back within three hours. Billing has been a nightmare, I took CareCredit loans for my advanced lenses. However, Evergreen eye has yet to apply all my CareCredit loan onto my account. They think I still owe them close to $4000. Meanwhile, I'm paying the loan amount of 7000 my CareCredit account. It's been five months with five phone calls on my end and they still haven't figured it out! I am so disappointed, I've taken relatives to Evergreen eye in the past and only had good experiences. This has been a freaking nightmare. My vision is almost as bad as when I went in for cataract surgery last year. I do not recommend them in any way shape or form. Do yourself a favor, look for another choice in eye surgeons! read more

The surgery was great and the follow up was fine. I'd recommend them, they did a great job. But, the billing was confusing, the invoicing incomplete and the billing department was rude and condescending when I called for an explanation. I'd like to give them 5 stars but my issues with their invoicing and billing department were upsetting. read more

UPDATE: the manager called to inform me I would not be charged for the second visit. I will change my rating from 1 star to 3 Terrible experience, avoid at all cost! I went in for a dry eye issue. The dr i saw recommended punctal plugs, which I had to have in the past for my dry eyes so I agreed. The Dr then eyeballed the size of the plugs to put in (didn't use a gauge to measure) and was hesitating between 2 sizes for my right eye but went with a larger size plug in that eye and a smaller one in the other. I felt discomfort but the dr said it was normal and that it takes a day or so for eyes to adjust. Well when I woke up the next day, my right eye was red and swollen and the plug was half way out which was painful as it kept rubbing against my eyeball. I could not remove it myself so I called and said I needed the plug taken out and was told to come in that afternoon. When I checked in for my appointment, I asked if I would be charged for the visit and they said that yes. I explained to the office manager that I was there again because the dr put the wrong sized plug in my eye (that's the primary reason why plugs come out) & I should not be charged for the second visit since it was the dr's mistake. I was told that those issues can happen with sizing punctal plugs as they do not use gauges to measure the size needed and just eyeball it . My issue with that is 1) if I go to a professional I expect them to have the proper experience & use the tools needed to do their job right the first time and 2) if the dr messes up and uses the wrong size plug on a patient, why am I having to bear the cost of that second visit??? Shouldn't the second visit to fix the dr's mishap be free of charge to the patient? If you go to a hair stylist and they mess up your hair, you do not pay for the redo.. why is this any different? I am waiting on the office manager to get back to me. Will post an update once/if I hear back read more

Evergreen Eye Center is not considerate of patients time. They are unable to honor appointment times. Have been going here for years and I can't remember the last time I was seen at my scheduled appointment time. The last two visits I had to wait over an hour. I've since stopped going, will find another provider. read more

I have been contacted by Evergreen Eye Center and they are addressing the issue with great gusto. I called in the complaint To Evergreen) when we got home, I was contacted the very next day. The issue is being addressed and I believe that they are going to remedy the issue to my satisfaction. We are staying with Evergreen but have made an appointment with a different doctor in the Federal Way clinic. First off just go elsewhere. From the appointment making experience through check in to the actual visit, horrible. They charge you if you're late but they take literally an hour past your appointment to even call you into the room. Then you get to hear all the staff talk about people and their weekend and boyfriends which is probably why we wait so long. Then Ajay or whatever her name was is rude as all get out. No help for the elderly either waiting in the lobby for hours. No help getting up out of a chair even. You have young staff just standing there then asking if they need more time. They prescribe me something I'm allergic to then ask why I didn't take it. Then won't offer any alternatives. Then the doc finally arrives and it's a miracle my eye is clear and never took the prescription. Hmmmm. Awful all way around. read more

Dr. Fredrickson is my eye Dr. and he is sooooooooooooooooooooo HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!! He is also my Eye Dr. The place is so clean and neat and everyone is so professional. I will be back to this place again. It's also so close to my apartment. They take your picture to make sure they get the right patient. So I stood in front of their water feature to get my pic taken. I didn't have to wait very long to be seen. The Dr. answered all my question and I answered all of his. My Dr. even has a great sence of humor. read more

Well it's been 4,5 years since I had my cataract surgeries done by "Dr" Tester and I'm NOT a happy person. My eyes are worse now then they were before! I had 20/20 20/25 vision before and of course early cataracts, I saw pretty good for 6 months but then it faded and faded, I just went in yesterday to the new fancy clinic and got the same (you got 5 minutes, and I'm off to the next room) treatment from the doctor. When I did my follow up after the last surgery he told me he put in two different lens one for close and one for far, which I hated, I now can see neither close or far, but only from 3 to 8 feet and nearly no infinity. I was NEVER consulted about which lens he was using or what I might have wanted, and since then have learned I should have been completely informed. I had 20/10 vision nearly my whole life so I know what clear vision is, and this ain't it. When I was in this time you told me that the lenses were for infinity which they are not, not even close. He didn't even seem to care about my concern over any of it and wouldn't even listen to me. My God how does someone do this to someone else. My eyes are now as foggy as they were before one is a 3 and one is a four our of four. I set an appointment with a better doctor and will up date this once I know what happened.. This place has a conveyor mentality to it, as you can see from other posters I'm NOT the only one who has had this experience with him... read more

I had an AWFUL HORRID experience. Receptionists slow with bad temper. Would NOT take my valid health insurance-should have returned straight home...Had to wait 1 and 1/2 hours to be seen. Then assistants could NOT use new data system, wasted another hour, and answered SAME 9 questions to each new girl. Stupid! Finally saw their doctor, female Dr Kelly Bui, who ignored me in chair, spoke to her assistants instead of me. So rude she was!! read more

I do not have a very good report for this business. The surgery I had was good but their business practices leave much to be desired. I am very limited in my income in fact I am on Medicare and Medicaid with a spend down. I make only $1,188 a month with only 200 to spare after my rent is paid so when I learned I should have cataract surgery I called to get an idea of the cost. I was given the run around and after inquiring 3 times of the cost the surgery coordinator finally told me after taking copies of my insurance cards and doing some typing and "looking into things" she said that I would have NO OUT OF POCKET COSTS" for my basic cataract surgeries. I asked her about what was used to be known as a Medicare "on assignment" payment which is a business accepts whatever Medicare pays as their payment in full because I knew I could not afford anything and that if I had to pay anything I would not have it. I was pleased with the no cost to me aspect. I just received a bill for $774.00. I called and was told I should have paid more attention to the "estimate" clause on the paper I signed when I even had her put a zero in the No Cost to me part. I was lied to and feel like they took advantage of a senior with low income. I have notified the Attorney General's office. read more

The one good thing about getting old and cataracts is having Dr. Robert Tester insert a corrective lense after removing the cataract. It is great. I now have 20/20 vision. I was relaxed during the surgery because Dr. Tester explained each step as he did it. My vision was a little blurry for a couple of weeks afterwards but then cleared up brighter and clearer. The annoying side effect afterwards is having halos from bright lights and shiny refections. But I would have the surgery again because the result is no more glasses. Yea! read more

I would like to thank Dr. Chung for the excellent care I received for my two cataract surgeries. He was not only professional, but very caring and explained all procedures preformed before and after. I have had to wear eye glasses since third grade [a long time ago] and I am thrilled not to wear them now and eyesight is 20/20 in each eye and color is very vivid. Total Rip off! I had an eye test done at Auburn Evergreen Eye Center for an eye glass prescription after laser surgery at Pacific Laser Institute. Not only was it a bad prescription, but they billed my insurance, and medicare a total of 200.00 dollars, they also billed me an additional 45.00 dollars, for a total of 245.00 dollars for a simple eye test which was a flawed test. After wearing my new glass's for while I called Evergreen and told them that the glass's were just not right. They told me "Tough Luck" you waited too long to complain, it was about 6 month's, and they had a 90 day window to rectify any error's on prescription problem's. The establishment that made my glass's suggested I get a 2nd. test which I did. Total cost 45.00 dollars. The results of that 2nd. test showed that Evergreen's test was very much in error. I had a new pair of glass's made with my new prescription and wow! what a difference. I am going to attempt to get my 45.00 dollars back from Evergreen. If they refuse I plan to register a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General. I am also informing Medi-Care of what I feel is an abuse of the system, and part of the cause of Medi-Care going broke. read more

If you ever wondered what it feels like to be apart of a cattle herd, then this is your place! Evergreen Eye Center is all about how many people can we squeeze in a day and not about customer service. Customer service? what's that? Don't expect to be greeted warmly, or acknowledged when you walk in! When they do begin to help you it's with little enthusiasm and if your lucky you may get a little attitude with it!. Oh and do expect to wait up to 90 minutes but oh they may have forgot to mention that!.. Once you are taken back to a room you will be scene, but oops once they see you in the first room you go back to another waiting room until you get to see the DR... The Dr's are nice enough but obviously they have no clue as to what goes on in the first 3 steps, which makes you believe it's not about the client but how many people they can get in to increase their wallets. One last note about this place, you are made to sign a document that you will show up to your appointed time otherwise you will be charged $50.00, however it only works one way, if they are running behind 25-30 minutes they are not held accountable so it's all one sided! read more
