We stayed at Everglades Ilse from August 21, 2023 to September 18, 2023, We had extended twice. During this time, we had met with Dennis Maintenance/ manager about purchasing lot 31, He didn't want us to go thru the listing agent Well's Realty because he was going to get a kick back if he helped to sell it. Personally, the check they sent him, was way too much in our opinion!
On December 11th, 2023, we stopped by to see the property again and spoke with Dennis. He introduced us to George who was also interested in the property but had to wait until his sold because evidently you can only own one lot. Although, there are several people who do own more than one lot. Dennis contacted the owner who told him that they would come down on the price if we would wait until January 10th when their contract was up with their realtor. We also asked if they would rent it for a month or two to see if we were a good fit, Dennis had assured us several times that day and back in August and September that we were. He asked owner and he said that they would think about it. Later we found out that they said that they would. Dennis told us that he would need permission from both HOAs because the Owners had been kicked out. Dennis said why spend all that extra money because we already know you are a good fit. Dennis refused to allow us to speak to the owners directly.
During the month of December, we called Dennis numerous times so we could put in an offer on the property. He would never return any of our calls. In the beginning of January, we got in touch with the owners ourselves and they accepted our offer. A contract was signed. I spoke to Dennis to obtain the information we would need for the Hoa the day the contract was signed, January 11, 2024. He seemed annoyed that we contacted the owners on our own. He said that he would have Greg Woods contact us with the HOA information. When not hearing from Greg, I was given his email address and emailed him. I never did get a reply. I spoke to Dennis again on January 15, 2024. He stated that Greg received my email but that now he was out of it because I "mudded" everything up since I emailed Greg on my own. Days passed we submitted paperwork to HOA.
Closing was scheduled February 5, 2024. We drove 4 hours on the 2nd and did a walk through. At 7:50 pm we received word that the HOA rejected us for fabricated "disruptive behavior" back in September. We were flabbergasted. The letter also stated they encourage us to reach out to Greg Woods, which we did that night.
The next day after several calls back and forth between us and Greg Woods, the HOA agreed to meet with us on February 5, 2024.
We met with Greg , Mark , Bob, and Dennis . We asked right away what was our disruptive behavior. We were blown off. Mark stated we aren't going there and said that we just don't know you and want you to stay longer so people can get to know you. After asking three times what was the fictious behavior was Dennis spoke up saying" that one day he and I we talking and your husband kept interrupting us and was speaking loudly and he had a stroke." My husband is hard of hearing and speaks louder than the average person. When is interrupting your spouse a crime? Why make up that we were disruptive, if you just want to get to know us better? If we had been we wouldn't have written a glowing google review back in September. Why meet with us in December as well? We figured that they wanted George to get the lot or maybe getting back at the previous owners.
What we learned is that there is a fictious billionaire puppeteer, many puppets, and a want to be millionaire who has liens against him, who can't or chose not to pay his taxes in Ohio. Can you GUESS which puppet that is?
Can you imagine being an owner and finding out one of the employees there was a convicted felon? Well, if you do...be careful going to the puppeteer about it. You might just get kicked out. But that's not our story.
If you are tired walking on eggshells or sick of the Wana Bee millionaires lies there are many other nicer places in the area.
Sincerely,
