Cute little library. One floor. There is a phalanx of computers. Hardly anyone there this morning. So As far as I'm concerned, every library deserves 5 stars. Why? Because I am so thankful that they still exist! It's quiet. They have free Wi-Fi, comfy chairs, lots of stuff to read and every magazine and newspaper you can think of. So for those reasons, I am awarding 5 stars! We love this location. Their kids room is always clean and supplied with fun activities for the kiddos to do. They have a great selection of books and they always have fun and interesting events hosted. We love this place. Who does not love a Library? It's a pretty decent size and a good amount of options. They have the friendliest staff too!

This review is for waddler storytime, and the new reader. My son and I are very sad that we will have to start driving across town to the main branch for storytime, because this one leaves something to be desired. First of all, the room is set up terribly for toddlers. There is unsecured crap EVERYWHERE. Stacks of chairs, unlocked cupboards, and they set up tables with available board books, and boxes of toys within reach of the taller kids! So many distractions for distractible, grabby children! Secondly, now I know what other moms mean when they say "there are great readers, ones that really engage the kids....and then there are not so great readers." The new reader needs practice. She seems to expect more from the 1 year olds than some are able to give. Even though she says in the beginning that it's ok for kids to wander around, she doesn't seem to have much patience when they do. (If you don't want them playing with chairs/knocking them over, don't leave chairs out. It's as simple as that.) Also her, transitions need work. Get to the bubbles faster! The last two times we've gone, we had to leave early because my son is not one to sit still, and gets destructive when he's bored. 30+ minutes of circle time is a lot of patience to ask for an 18 month old with energy to burn. By contrast, the other reader at main branch seems to know her audience. When the kids start getting restless, instead of just reading louder (with an annoyed edge to her voice) , she will change it up. Play a Raffi song and let the kids dance it out. Just some constructive criticism from the mom of a high-energy toddler who would really love to take her kid to storytime without having to chase him around because the room isn't sufficiently child-proofed. read more

This is the best library. The librarians are so fun and knowledgeable and clearly book nerds. They also have lots of free groups and classes. I love their quick pics section where they feature multiple copies of suggested reading that you can just run in and snag. I also love that they are open every day of the week. Their website is great. I frequently order things from home, get an email and run down and snag them. In addition, if you want a book that they don't have, they can get it on interlibrary loan from a different system or even state, free of charge. EPLS is just a great community resource. Cool local library. There aren't many spots available to study but I like how theblibrary is virtually divided as much for kids as it is for adults! The Evergreen Branch does best at sustaining a local feel. This library is but no stretch a large bldg, but has all the essentials: magazines, DVDs, newspapers, comfortable seating, internet stations, and amiable staff. I think it's adorable that it's split up directly in half for the kids and adults. The kids section has a rug area that reminds me of story time, while the adult section (non-dirty) is filled with leather chairs and tables. The local ambiance feels great until it gets crowded. When it does, you hear everything that everyone is thinking, doing, and feeling. I swear, a person sneezes and you will know it's precise epicenter. Furthermore, you have those that talk on their cell phones all the dang time. Basically, it's not the best study location. But, it's a great location for kids, casual reading, free DVD rentals, and internet use. Did I mention they have the entire 1-4 seasons of the OFFICE? Why didn't I know about this earlier? Story time was fun....I like how many american girl mags I saw and the play toys were the same as the main branch. Only difference I see is size so well go here instead of the main from now on. The parking garage in the main always makes my clothes stink. Nothing like not wanting to go to a library right? But I have a new spot its all good in everett. read more

So today I went in there to get a 30 minute pass so I can take care of something the people that work there make such a big deal about you being on the phone so I stepped off the computer went outside to use my phone when I came back in and I politely asked for another pass the lady was very rude now we only get out one per day like really everybody that works there has such an attitude you guys are all really uptight for being in the city Everett just cause were in the city ever doesn't mean you can treat everybody like shit because you think they are shit that's not OK. All the women that work at this library have stick stuck up their ass they must be really far up there you guys need to pull them out and start having some respect! I will never be back to this library you guys suck!! read more

I visited the library today for the first time and I wish we could have remembered the wonderful woman's name who worked in the kids book area. She pointed out all the types of fish in the tank to our daughter, helped her share with other kids, showed her how to play on the computer for the first time, and calmed her down with a handful of books. Frankly, she was amazing! She is enough reason alone for us to come back and is worth a thousand complements!! I don't know your name, but you do your job so well and I wish you worked every day with my daughter at her day care. Your kindness, compassion, and dedication to our daughter and the other kids there was incredible and we will be back! I don't know if you're thanked enough for what you do...but you're not paid enough for the effort you gave today. Thank you.... read more

Super cute library. Best of the sno isle libraries in my opinion. Less of a selection but you can always order what you want online and have it delivered to your closest sno isle library. Staff was friendly. Parking was ample. Will be back for story time! read more

I have been a patron of the Evergreen branch library for over 20 years. It is small enough to feel like a real neighborhood library (A Carnegie e.g.) but large enough to have the resources like current magazines, newspapers, some dvds, great music cds, and quick read books-- little gems you can just pick up quickly. The staff are so very knowledgeable and helpful. Whenever I have requested a book, they have ordered it or gotten it from their inter-library system. There are also many internet stations, with comfy chairs, round tables for studying & a quiet atmosphere. One bonus is their offering these wonderful book bags.. I have several in different colors and new styles since they have varied them when they re-order. One of the bonuses is the "NEW BOOKS" section, both fiction & non-fiction. There's a padded bench in front of the shelves they are on, so it's handy & comfy to browse & peruse. They have only two handicapped parking spots, however, they are not always taken. They also have automatic door openers which helps a lot when you have a bag of books to carry or an armload of them..Someone with mobility issues can easily use this library. This is definitely my favorite library; the Main library may have more books, cds,, dvds, and reference material but it's not easy getting around with stacks up on a second floor and too much space. I understand they are going to be remodeling the Evergreen branch, expanding it & offering larger meeting rooms, etc. I hope they keep the coziness of this library & the separation of the kids' section.. Although this library is rather small, it is very conveniently located and everyone who works there is always very friendly. However, I would not recommend putting the books you want down for just a minute because the staff tends to take the unattended books into the back room to be organized later. Although it is great that they are on top of keeping the place clean, it can be very inconvenient when you are in a bit of a hurry. read more

I love this small Library. The staff is helpful and friendly. They really do care about the patrons. I'm of the old school where the library should be quiet. At the same time I like the fact that this one is family friendly. Difficult for those who need to concentrate at the computer to have distractions from nearby conversations and people talking on their cell phones. One staff member has a loud strong voice and forgets to lower it when he's talking up close with people. The parking is great. If you need something that's at the downtown library all you have to do is ask for help and they'll get it delivered to the Evergreen branch in no time. All-in-all all I prefer to go to this one. It also has a reciprocal Lending arrangement with Sno-Isle and with King County library system. A bonus is that I found 3 excellent books for sale. read more
