We ordered the plantains, curry chicken roti and jersey chicken roti. All I can say is WOW!! FINALLY! AUTHENTIC ROTI and they are generous with portions. I couldn't finish the whole roti so I'm glad i have more for tomorrow. It was flavorful. It's hard to get good fresh roti like this in some states. It was a bit over a 20 minute walk from the touristy area (think Cliffton Hill), it was filled with people, and we felt very safe. We ordered lamb curry, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala, as well as naan and a lassi mango drink. Everything was delicious! We asked for medium spice and it had a little bit of a kick to it. I learned that my preference should be chicken over lamb because chicken allows the flavors to really shine, while the lamb competes a bit for attention. The naan was exactly what we needed to sop up the sauce, and the rice was absolutely perfect: light and fluffy. In addition to being absolutely delicious, I want to shout out this business for their kindness. A few homeless folks stepped in, asked for a plate, and stepped outside to wait. The gentleman who was at the counter simply nodded. They proceeded to put together a set of to go boxes with food for each person who asked. It was a simple process, not disruptive to anyone eating at the restaurant, and an extremely intentional act of kindness for their community. It might not be beautiful but it's a stand out dish in flavor. One item to skip... The fried wontons. While ours were very crispy (and hot), the predominant flavor was fryer oil and the tiny (truly tiny) bits of ground pork in the wontons didn't help. Also, check out the combination plates if you want some of this and some of that instead a lot of one thing. They are near the back of the menu and are NEAR the lunch only plates but the combination plates are in fact available at night.
