So I had heard about this place from various family members and friends therefore we decided to try it out for my sister's birthday.
When we got in, the FA Cup Final was on and we were seated at a table beneath the projector screen which prompted my mother to think that people were looking at us. But the match ended within 5 minutes and the screen went up.
For starters we had Masala Peanuts, Crispy Bhindi which is Okra, Garlic Chilli Mogo and a Mixed Grill. I also had a fresh passionfruit juice (I was the driver) and it was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and they had added a pinch of salt to take the bitterness away and mellow the sweetness. All the meat in the mixed grill, in my opinion was pretty banging. The spices on all of the meat was really well done and they were all cooked perfectly. The grill consisted of 2 Lamb Chops, 2 Seekh Kebabs, 4 pieces of Chicken Tikka, 4 Tandoori Wings.
For mains we had some Paneer Makhani, Hariyali Chicken, Veg Hakka Noodles and Pilau Rice with a couple of plain naans. I thought that both the curries were very tasty and I liked the tenderness of the chicken. The paneer was also very soft, not at all hard and chewy. The noodles were okay - a bit oily for my liking.
Overall, the food was good! The service however was a bit pants as the waitresses seemed to rush us for our order and then when we did ask for more drinks, for example, she forgot and we had to remind another waitress for them. In addition, after the football was turned off, they put the Magic TV channel on which for me, was a treat as they were playing songs from my childhood however this soon got changed into boxing. By now it was around 9:30pm and none of us really wanted to see boxing whilst we were eating our main meal. I understand though that it is a nice alternative to going to a pub to watch it but nevertheless, they could have had a section away from the main restaurant where people can view the sporting events. read more
