Their quote for our house…read morebased on square footage was in the middle of the three quotes I had gotten, but their ratings and reviews pushed me to give them the business. They were hired for all air vents and a dryer cleanout on a 2,000 sq. ft. house, and particularly a bad smell coming in the laundry room. On the day of the cleaning Chris and Lee arrived during the agreed upon time window. I showed Lee around the house to the various vents and asked questions about the places I couldn't fully clear a path to the vent. The house's vents hadn't been cleaned during the time I've owned the place so it needed significant work. The same applied for the dryer. The cleaning took roughly 3 hours. I think they did a good job and made sure to take care of cleaning any messes their work caused. The one exception was the dryer blow-out which was left under the outdoor vent. My single gripe was that the final price ended up $100 over the original quote without discussion. However, it was clear that they had a lot of work to do that couldn't have been known without taking a look at things.

Their technicians showed up on time, presentable, and ready to work. They had me guide them around the house and show them where all of my registers were located so that nothing was missed. They showed me pictures of the work they did to the interior of my HVAC system in the difference is tremendous. The professionalism was beyond most service companies I have done work with. They offered a few additional services, which I felt were completely worth the price they were charging, so I had them also clean my dryer duct. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. I will recommend them to everyone and I look forward to using them again in the future, not only at my home but at my business.

The clean-up facet of Service Master we dealt with were fantastic and took care to explain everything . Then we waited a month and were introduced to the franchise "Service Master by Jouny." That was where the nightmare began. "Mike" (Jouny) wasn't sure he wanted the job. They were overbooked. Then two guys in a dirty panel van showed up. They left their tools on my partner's dresser. On day two my kid fell down the stairs because the cardboard wasn't secured to the steps. They showed up an average of 1-3 hours late every day, which meant the job took two extra days to finish. There were raised voices one afternoon, and I discovered they had mounted our accent tile for the bathroom and threshold trim as the floor of the shower. The workers stopped talking to us and slap-dashed the room together, putting paint over fresh silicone or plaster that didn't adhere, and covering a piece of 1/4-inch greenboard with at least 2 inches of plaster with no seam tape or backing. When it cracked and I complained, they smeared more plaster over it. One of the workers broke the exposed shower drain and replace it without telling me or pulling permits. It was never inspected, nor approved. Last day of work, they didn't sand or paint any work on the stairs; everything is still rough finish, and they dumped their buckets of waste water on my garden flowers and AC condenser. Hours after officially firing ServiceMaster by Jouny and filing a complaint with my insurance company, a truck rolls up: "Carpet Cleaning by Jouny." Service Master is apparently a franchise, which means you can slap their name on your plastic lunchbox to look reputable. Even some other Service Master franchise owners won't work with this guy and avidly call him a crook. And now, so do I.

Approximately 7 months later in July 2021 we had the A/C units changed because one of the condenser units was leaking refrigerant and Fred's son Michael suggested we replace both units including the air handlers at a cost of approximately $17,000. Following his advice we proceeded and thats when the headaches began. First, one of the condenser units was installed in a different location which wasn't communicated beforehand. Second, their team left a mess including garbage and unused piping. The old humidifier was left dangling and the copper piping work is an eye soar. When the winter came around we realized the heating wasn't working. On Oct.29th Fred came out and got the heat working. I showed him the piping and dangling humidifier. He looked surprised and asked if his guys did the work and took pictures. He said his team would better the piping and remove the humidifier. However, we then noticed that the heater was blowing heat when the thermostat was turned on but not reaching the ambient temperature when set to auto. On 01/21/2022 Fred came back and changed the thermostat, but determined that the problem wasn't the thermostat. He eventually got the heat working properly, however, the A/C now stopped working. He told us that he would get the A/C working properly on another date due to his team being busy. On July 14th Fred came back and got the A/C working, but now the heat stopped working again. We realized that when the seasons changed he was just swapping the wires around. When confronted about it, he told us there was a low voltage short and his team would be back to fix it, granted we never had a problem with the A/C turning on before HVAC plus changed our system so, I suspect that any short was caused by them when they changed out the system. On Aug 23rd HVAC was scheduled to arrive at 9am, but in the morning rescheduled for 3pm and showed up closer to 4pm. So, they wasted our entire day to just parrot what Fred had already told us, but because of how late they arrived there wasn't enough time to do the work that day. I later spoke to Michael and he suggested installing a Nest thermostat and sensor to get around the short at an additonal cost of $525 Eight months later and we are still waiting for HVAC plus to schedule the work. An E-mail and text message have gone unanswered. They have no regard for the elderly. Our father has since passed away and our mother's health has since deteriorated. My mother hasn't had heat on the main floor all winter. I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone.
