There are some tables and chairs out front (nice to have) that somehow always make me feel like I'm eating in the middle of the parking lot (less ideal). The workers are typically... very young, so customer service is a mixed bag depending on who you get. However, today I was informed that they were out of an ingredient in their "Sunny" signature bowl that I was trying to order because it said it supports Mt Carmel Athletics. I said OK, great - can I get a different ingredient instead? (Because in my mind, if you're out of part of the product that the customer is paying for... you'd get something else added to equal the original amount of product.) I was told I could remove something from a signature bowl, but adding or swapping a different ingredient would make it a custom/ choose-your-own bowl instead. I neither had the energy to nor felt I should have to delve into a conversation about inconsistencies of logic, the concept of getting what you pay for, or the fact that generally speaking this has not previously been the response at other stores in the same situation. So I ended up smiling, saying nevermind, and leaving without a bowl. They won't be losing much money on me since I don't go often, but in future my choice will be easy as I'll just always go next door for OG Golden Spoon froyo instead.

I came at a slow time and figured, maybe if I asked them to remake my drink in another smoothie flavor, it wouldn't be too much trouble since there were no other customers in the store at all. I came up to the lady who took my order and told her "I'm sorry, I don't like my drink. Is it alright if you make me another drink please?" Usually, most boba places oblige because they want you to try the menu to find the drink you really like so you can become a regular customer. She said oh! No problem, then proceeded to ring me up as if I was placing a brand new order. I was confused. I told her no, I'm asking you to replace this one that I'm having trouble enjoying. She just shrinked and said nooooooo sorryyyyyyy That's disappointing. I paid and tipped for this drink for nothing. Had to throw it away because it was giving me too many sensory issues. I walked away deciding to never come back. Trader Joe's lets you go back to exchange or get a refund if you try one of their products that you don't like. Tapioca Express has obliged this drink replacement request before. Happy Lemon has obliged before. Quickly employees have obliged before. Yun Tea lets you sample drinks so you don't wind up in this situation. I literally was the only customer in the store. There was no line. There was nobody waiting to place an order. And the answer was just no. I suggest making samples every now and then for customers to try before they buy whenever you can. And consider remaking drinks at no cost if a customer really does not like their drink. Customer retention is important. And this was an easy ask to accommodate. I'm unsure how good the rest of the menu was, but this first time experience literally and physically left a bad taste in my mouth. Highly advise that people avoid the strawberry smoothie and get anything else on the menu. Because if you don't like your drink, you're shit out of luck. Make your choice carefully. The soft serve was great! They only had vanilla at the time though. Out of the other flavors. Parking was easy thankfully.
