I was excited to try Everbowl for the first time at the grand opening event. Several days ago I received an invitation to come try an Everbowl. I patiently waited in a long line after I arrived. I reached the promotional tent and was asked to provide a Yelp review and spin a wheel several times before receiving a prize. At the same time, the staff decided to change the path to get inside. They created a new second line and prioritized others. I was told to go to the back of the new line. Meanwhile, they allowed the original line to continue feeding inside. I felt like there was some type of bias against me. It didn't seem right for the staff to allow 40-50 people to move ahead and enter while was sent to the back of another line. The owner appeared outside. I addressed my concerns with him about the situation. At the same time, one of his friends turned around from the line and began to verbally attack, emasculate, insult and pumped out derogatory comments against me. The owner defended her behavior. He told me he didn't care what happened. It became apparent the owner developed a bias against me. He teamed up with his family and friends to humiliate and continue this hateful rant against me in front of many others. His prejudice caused him to negatively comment about my gender. Eventually he decided to punish me. He singled me out and began to threaten and speak demeaning hatred at me. Additionally, he punished me by withholding the offer to be able to receive the Everbowl I had patiently waited in both lines for. The discrimination I experienced impacted me negatively. I didn't believe this is a good way to start a new business and it is bad publicity for Everbowl as a brand. I told the owner about how this negative experience has earned Everbowl a negative consumer review. He told me he didn't care what I thought. In conclusion, this was a terrible experience. I hope you all can understand why I would not recommend for anyone to support a business which treats potential customers like this. Unfortunately, I would not want to patronize a business with a racist, hateful, prejudice, bigot as an owner. I didn't stand in line to spin the wheel but I did stand in line for a free bowl! BUT I am writing this review to give the ENTIRE staff a HUGE shout out! You are all doing an amazing job!!! For opening day I think it went very smoothly! The line moved pretty quick and the kids and I really enjoyed the Açaí bowl!!! To the gentleman that got kicked out for calling me a B**** because you wanted to act like a baby and couldn't follow simple instructions.. I hope you have the night you deserve!! Absolutely loved this place! The açaí bowl was fresh, delicious, and packed with great toppings. Everything tasted high quality, the portions were solid, and the staff was super friendly. The atmosphere is really nice too--perfect spot for a quick, healthy meal or post-workout snack. Definitely coming back! read more
