Because we were less than two months from our wedding, Decemeber moved to schedule our face-to-face meeting quickly. The introduction discussion was well organized and she walked me through all of our vendor details, wedding party, must-haves, etc. My fiancé and I thought we had covered all our bases, but it was obvious after our discussion that there were many other details we needed to address. Decemeber made this feel like a breeze, and immediately helped wrap up finishing touches and assembled a "day-of" timeline. She began coordinating directly with our vendors, to eliminate the stress from the groom and me. Because of all the work Soirée did up front, the day of our wedding was well executed, relaxed and most importantly fun! As the bride, I didn't have to worry about who needed to be where and when. Decemeber had all of this outlined for us. She even found a new hairstylist two weeks before the wedding, after I decided to make a last minute change! We identified a location and starting tasking friends and contacting vendors within a week, but I quickly started to get overwhelmed with the amount of effort. I was trying to juggling working full time, traveling for work and planning a wedding with next to no notice when my best friend begged me to find a day-of wedding coordinator. I turned to trusty Yelp to help me out and was sad to see the lack of reviews for wedding vendors. However, I did find one review for Buffee Ann and saw I could contact her for a quote. She quickly replied and when I decided not to move forward was sweet in her response to my poor life choices. Only a few days later I changed my mind and she encouraged me to skype with her before making another bad decision. I am so glad I did! From the start Buffee was energetic and encouraging while also allowing my strong personality to dictate as much as I could of the planning process. I have to say at the end of the day, hiring Buffee to help me out was the BEST IDEA EVER! If you're planning a wedding, get help from the very start. Buffee offered suggestions for vendors after we ran into challenges with a few of ours, and we realized she would have been a savior if we had used her from day 1. She worked with our bartending service to help resolve a difficult issue and found me someone to help with my hair (which received numerous compliments). The Vow Exchange though, is an awesome idea and probably perfect for a lot of different situations. We're not looking for a cavernous venue and the fact that The Vow Exchange holds no more than 28 guests (wedding party not included) is actually helpful. We're not feeling obligated to invite everyone we've ever met and actually have a reason why we can't. They have a several options ranging from just the space for an hour to the space, flowers, drinks, a photographer, and an officiant. Prices range from $200 to $1000. The interior is somewhat shabby chic with exposed brick and rough hewn beams, comfortable chairs and benches and wrought iron decor. There's a large overhead door that (I assume) can be opened if the weather permits. Our wedding is scheduled for May - we'll let you know how it goes and update this review then!

Warning: LONG review. I truly cannot say enough good things!…read more Michael did a wonderful job coordinating, planning and DJing my April 2014 wedding reception. Yes, he played music, but even more, he performed the role as our reception coordinator. Like many brides, I originally thought that I needed to hire someone who could just play music. After seeing many positive reviews of Michael's services online, my fiance' Justin and I met with him in person. During our meeting, we realized that Michael was the real deal and that we needed to work with him. Michael explained how he would do much more than just play music -- he would help with planning the reception events with us, he would routinely meet with us throughout the whole planning process, he'd make sure the flow of the entire event made sense, etc. And he did exactly that! We Skyped with Michael on one occasion and also met in person on a few occasions. We also met at our reception site with Michael so he could plan out the event details, the location of the grand entrance, etc. Throughout our planning, Michael also was very prompt to respond via email whenever I reached out with questions, ideas and concerns. Michael told us time and time again that our job as the couple was to just enjoy our reception; his job was to make sure that it ran smoothly. And Michael kept that promise. Justin and I danced, mingled, enjoyed our food, and had a wonderful time at our reception. We never had any question about what's next, where do we go, aren't we supposed to cut the cake at some point? When we needed to perform a specific task at our reception, Michael found us and briefly gave us a reminder. On the music side of things, our dance floor was crowded the entire night. Of course as the bride and groom, we were busy talking with so many people, so we were not on the dance floor too much. Following up with one of the bridesmaids next day, she said, "I was on the dance floor the whole night!" Michael's planning and organization services combined with his DJ expertise was worth every penny. I would absolutely recommend him to any bride and groom looking for a DJ -- and then some. My husband and I hired Theresa for our June 2026 wedding after several conversations about the…read moresupport she would provide throughout the planning process and on the wedding day. Before signing, we specifically discussed beginning work earlier than her typical timeline, receiving assistance with vendor sourcing and brainstorming, rehearsal coordination, timeline creation, light setup and teardown, and overall wedding management. Based on those conversations, we felt confident that she would be a strong logistical partner leading up to and during our wedding. Looking back, I believe the biggest challenge was not a lack of good intentions, but a gap between the responsibilities that were discussed and the level of execution we ultimately experienced. Throughout the planning process, Theresa frequently offered to take on additional responsibilities beyond what she now describes as wedding management alone. While I appreciated her willingness to help, many of those tasks were either not completed, completed late, or required significant follow-up from us. We raised concerns about organization and communication months before the wedding and requested a more streamlined process, including written action items and clearer follow-through after meetings. On the wedding week itself, there were several moments where we felt we were managing logistics that we expected our coordinator to be directing. Despite providing detailed documentation for décor placement and event setup, my husband and I, along with members of our family and wedding party, ended up completing a significant portion of the setup and coordination ourselves. Rehearsals lacked the level of leadership and direction we expected, vendor issues were not always proactively communicated, and several logistical details required intervention from us or our loved ones. What makes this experience difficult to summarize is that I genuinely believe Theresa cares deeply about her couples and wants them to have a great experience. However, good intentions alone are not enough in a role that requires strong organization, communication, leadership, and attention to detail under pressure. For couples considering working with Theresa, my recommendation would be to have very specific conversations about expectations, responsibilities, and boundaries from the beginning. Make sure every responsibility is clearly defined, documented, and understood by both parties. My experience was not that I misunderstood the services being offered. Rather, responsibilities were often expanded through conversations and offers of help, but the execution did not consistently match those expectations. I wish Theresa success as she continues to grow her business, and I hope she takes the lessons she has publicly shared about boundaries, capacity, and client expectations and uses them to strengthen the experience for future couples.

This vendor is careless and responded to negative feedback with a few nasty text messages…read more When I first talked to Heather at Simply Modish she was very nice but during the planning was least helpful in that department. She did not pay much attention to my budget and gave me suggestions of the highest vendors in town. A lot of which were family or friend owned. During my rehearsal she did not do her job at all. She did not have any control of my group and I ended up running my rehearsal because she did not have much of a voice. On my wedding day I was a bit late walking down the aisle. (Around 45 mins) she came up to my suite and yelled at me to hurry up and was saying people wanted to know where I was. At this point it was barely 6:00 and that was when my wedding was supposed to start. My cousin politely asked her to stop stressing me out and told her we would come down at 6:30. I walked down from my suite at 6:40ish and when I walked down the stairs my husband was standing there! I was so upset. When we texted after that day, she told me that since me and my husband were already married she assumed I was ok with seeing him. However she never asked me if it was ok for us to see each other. After our first meeting we met at her home to discuss planning and I noticed she had a sonogram on her refrigerator. I asked her if she was pregnant and she said yes and that she would be over 8 months during my day. Which was fine but I don't think she had any intention of telling me. She stated she would hire an assistant to help her for our day since she was going to be so far along. I wanted to meet the person so I knew that they would understand my vision for the wedding. She kept telling me I couldn't meet them and other excuses. On my day I found out that her assistant was her very own sister. She basically told me in the text that it wouldn't matter who it was since she didn't charge me for them. Which was not my concern I just felt like she was hiding it. After my ceremony my guests had no idea what to do or where to go next because they never made the announcement. My wedding party had to tell them to go up to the barn for cocktail hour. Her sister in my eyes wasn't clear on all the things that was going on because she failed to have her come to rehearsal. In the end she gave me her her vision of who I was and how I was going to be which was really rude. And I admit I never told her how unhappy I was because my husband was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt by telling me that she was going to be good on our day. However she managed to upset him too because of her careless attitude. I did hug her and and tell her thank you because I wasn't going to be mean or unprofessional to her on my wedding day but she said I was wrong for being polite. The things she messed up at my wedding were not things that she could fix. To me what's done was done. I was very nice when explaining to her my issues with her as to why I gave her a bad review and she did not care! She was rude and nasty! I advise all brides to pay a little extra for a planner. She took advantage of us and we cannot get our money back. She is a liar and will cheat you. She did the least amount of work for what we paid. My venue coordinator did more for me than she ever did. The bad part is my venue was basically all inclusive and we had under 50 guests and she still managed to mess up our day! STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR!
