OH MY GOSH. This has to be one of the most beautiful venues - I have ever been to. The outside was…read morea bit deceiving but note that it was pretty mucky outside with the weird weather change that we were having. When my boyfriend and I walked right into the lobby, there was an open space where we could hold our jackets. I love the fact that this place was just hosting one event - the wedding, so we were familiar with all the other faces. From walking into the lobby, the left side was for the bridal party to take their pictures. Free to the guests to take pictures after the ceremony as well. Gorgeous, I wish I had a better camera on my phone to capture the realness of it all. Right beside the garden was another garden where the ceremony was held. It was so beautiful, green and fresh, lots of lighting and just truly a sight. Take a good look at where the reception was held. The venue held the wedding event so perfectly. All of the servers were outstanding, the decor was already part of the venue and was just enough to host a beautiful wedding. If you want a very intimate, romantic wedding - have your event here. Pictures were absolutely STUNNING and there was a hidden waterfall in the back which was great for more pictures! This place was a dream. Dance floor was a good size, washrooms were super clean. Food and apps were delicious. Who would have known that this gem was in Newmarket?!! Lived here almost my whole life and never heard of this place before! Friends, host your weddings here and invite me! It was such a blast! HAPPY EVER AFTER fellow yelpers!

Went for their 6-course Tasting Menu with a reservation…read more Initially, I was conflicted as to whether I was enjoying my experience or not because the pacing was so slow! It took 1.5hrs for just 2 courses to come out, with none of them being "cooked" dishes. We also looked around and saw that there were only 5 other tables of patrons. But after the 3rd course, our server apologized that we had to wait so long and let us know that there was a large party in their private room that she was also serving so she was very busy. After that, our other courses (mains) came out at a very good pace, although we had to ask to pack them since it was getting pretty late. The chef even gave us a regular menu portion of one of them since he felt bad for the delay. All the dishes were very tasty! The meal ended off great with the duck and a not-too-sweet dessert. Overall the service ended up being great and attentive, with recommendations of other really good dishes off their regular menu and specials on other nights. Good casual spot for a variety of occasions with friends, for a date night, or celebration.

Location: On Main Street Newmarket in the postmark Hotel…read more Parking: The good thing about the area is currently there's lots of free parking but apparently the city of Markham will be ruining all that for us because they are going to start charging for parking in areas like this. I know this isn't here but once it starts in one municipality all the other ones jump on the bandwagon The place: It's on the 4th floor of the building which in the elevator it's the letter r for roof. You walk out of the elevator and it's the restaurant I was there at night and it was dark out and it's winter. it was very nice because it's all glass it is very dark out and you can see the lights of the town and with the decor and the mood lighting in the restaurant it just looked very chic. I know they have outdoor seating and Decor but couldn't see it at all. There was a lot of different types of seating there were tables for two along the windows where I sat there were tables for four in the middle they were the hybrid boost tables there were some high seats that also had like a high booth seating with them. Basically whatever made you comfortable you could probably find a seat. Which I like Food: It's a smaller menu which I appreciate. Very solid food choices I ended up going with the six course Chef menu. I do like a good meal that I don't have to plan out myself and this always tends to highlight the good stuff. There was a six course wine pairing that you could also get but I decided against it but I did get a cocktail this Orange flip which was delicious I could have drank a pitcher of it. The tasting menu consisted of a oyster amuse Bouche, steak tartare, roast beat salad, seared arctic char, roasted duck breast and, opera cake I really did like everything. The oyster had a citrus minuet, I like steak tartare but I especially liked this one. It had pickled onion and I think that made a difference. I think normally there's just regular onion. I would get this again 100% oh and it was served with potato chips which I've never had before usually get some sort of cracker. My favorite dish was the roasted beet salad but I love a good beet salad. The Arctic char loved it served with a roasted parsnip. Great choice. The duck breast came I had a few bites and had to take it to go because I was full but it was really good and I had it for breakfast the next day and it was even better then. As well the upper cake, that was also a breakfast cake and it was delicious It wasn't really busy and service was great. She was attentive but not too overwhelming. Which is really good because when there's not a lot of people in the restaurant sometimes the service is overwhelming I would definitely come back and I would try the tasting menu again I believe it changes by this season. I also like to try out their patio

The owner Johnny talks so much talk and promises you basically the world and doesn't deliver. My wedding day I now look as the worst day of my life thanks to this place and owner. IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN LOOK ELSEWHERE!! They tell you they will do anything but it's lies 3 days before the event I got a call saying they can't do a kids menu, after tons was promised and said could do anything, I had to give 12 children, mostly ages 5-1 plated course meals which not one touched. They promised 10-13 servers to be available that night we had 4 only cause the bartender had to help, which took over 2 hrs to do dinner that all my guests complained their food was cold when they got it and didn't touch it. The service was so slow they were behind in everything My guests never got to try my wedding cake which I still have frozen taking up all the space in my freezer, not to mention almost missed my dance with my father aswell cause it ran so late. They told us we would more the likely get refund for unconsumed alcohol, so we contacted him regarding a refund and complained he the owner Johnny requested a meeting to discuss this. When we tried to have a meeting with the owner Johnny he postponed it 3 times and finally when we said enough was enough and had the meeting he basically didn't believe anything, called us liars and then screamed at me and my mother in law. We walked out. Very unprofessional. TO SUM IT UP YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

With the right lighting during the summer the pictures will be amazing. They have white plastic chairs.... They have an outdoor wooden structure half tent half "barn" but not Really a barn, for the dinner reception. It is open to the outside so no air conditioning and bugs if you are lucky. String lights hung on the ceiling. Long head table on a stage and a bar. This place can have a really rugged feel if that's the theme for your wedding. Washrooms are inside the golf club right beside the tent and are nice and clean so no worries about a barn washroom. Chairs and linens are worn. But the reception seemed to run smoothly with the help of the staff there. Staff were all nice, courteous and helpful. Food very typical wedding food. Chicken was a bit dry... Of course. Overall I enjoyed my time but I'm not an outdoors person and I didn't enjoy the bugs at night. The parking lot is a little walk down the slope. When we arrived they have staff driving golf carts taking people up the slope but when we left there was no such service. It's a bit out in the countryside so it gets really dark at night. You can see stars!

Congratulations to Lory and Brian! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and prosperity!…read more I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at Royal Venetian Mansion in Aurora. It was a beautiful and very spacious venue that also hosted the ceremony on their rooftop patio. Following the ceremony, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were provided by the venue, along with desserts, and late night stations with a whole suckling pig, sliders, fries, and poutine. Everything was delicious! The banquet hall was huge and spacious, with intimate lighting, and an enormous dance floor. The table décor was very classy and beautiful. The house sound system, however, left a lot to be desired. The tonal balance and echoes made the speeches sound muddled. The sound quality improved later on when DJ Jonathan Shaw, aka Juiceman, kept the dance floor packed for the rest of the evening. The main dinner, a ten course Chinese banquet meal, was provided by Grand Catering. As usual, this type of banquet included Roasted Suckling Pig and Jellyfish, Crab Claws, Seafood and Broccoli, Seafood and Fish Maw Soup, Mushrooms with Chinese Greens, Steamed Fish, Fried Chicken with Fried Rice, Noodles, and Lobster. Special dishes were provided for guests with allergies. This was a very good meal with excellent service!

I have very mixed feelings about my experience here for my brother's wedding…read more The venue itself is magnificent. Let's get that out of the way. If this was a review on just the venue, I would give it 5 stars. Absolutely gorgeous interior, from the reception rooms to the washrooms to the upper level to the outside shrubbery. The food is where I think the place could use major improvement. Let's start off with cocktail hour. Some of the hors d'oeuvres did not come out hot but rather cold which was slightly disappointing. The arancini was fantastic and the chicken satay skewers were juicy. I feel like the servers could've come out more frequently with trays of food. It did seem like a lot of ppl had to scout and hunt down servers for food during cocktail hour. Drinks-wise, the bartender was great. Funny banter, smile on his face and super talented at making drinks. Moving on to dinner, here's where the crux of my feelings lie. My bro has basically let it slide and he's not one to say anything after the fact, but he hates cucumber and when he was choosing a salad for his wedding he had chosen the non-cucumber salad. Imagine his surprise when, for his reception, the venue messed up and prepared cucumber salad for him and all the guests. I told him to speak to a manager but he was apathetic and refused to do it so I will speak up on behalf of him. No partial refund or apology was ever offered to him. They just took his money and let it fly. The pasta dish was the best dish of the night. The pasta was al dente and the sauce was nice and rich. The main course was frankly a disaster. Everything was way overcooked. The chicken breast was extremely dry and sandpaper-like. The salmon had zero moisture in it and the loaded baked potato wasn't very loaded with cheese, bacon or chives (it looked like they had scooped out the potato and just mashed it up further and then rescooped it back into the potato skin). This was quite possibly the worst main course entrée I've ever consumed at a wedding. Dessert was mango sorbet and it was quite nice. The mango flavour was very strong. There was also a waffle bar at the end of the night which was the highlight for me. Fresh waffles with ice cream. Who knew the dessert would be the best? I think if this venue tightens up their food offering they would be excellent, however, as it stands, the food was a letdown in my opinion, salvaged only by the fresh waffles at the end of the night. One bonus that I do think deserves mentioning is that there is very good ventilation running through the mansion. I never felt like I was going to be consumed by heatstroke or sweat.
