I stumbled upon Lashawn's skills on Instagram and knew then that I would be satisfied after booking an appointment. I waited until I could book an appointment online and her online scheduling system is the best. Simple and seamless. I booked a crochet box braid style and little did I know that the service comes with a wash service ! All inclusive. When I arrived Lashawn was ready for me and began immediately. The wash was the best I've had. Great products, warm steam treatment while washing and conditioning. Lashawn is so skilled she detangled my hair in 2 minutes flat. That's unheard of. The days are gone when stylists would yank and wrestle with my curls and spend over a half an hour parting and detangling and wasting time. I asked for a trim and everything was perfect. I can't wait for my little girl to experience what I did today. I booked an appointment for her as well. Lashawn gave practical advice and pointers on hair care. She uses quality products that are best suited for your hair. This salon experience was more like a spa experience. You won't regret it ladies.

I paid $240 PLUS tip for Smedium Miracle Braids! I went to them back in June & they did an AWESOME…read morejob, which is exactly why I came back August 23rd, literally days before my birthday vacation. This time though?! VERY disappointed! The sizing & parts were ALL OVER THE PLACE! At first I thought it was just a few bigger braids...NOPE! Once I REALLY started going through my head, I realized it was A LOT! At that point, fixing a few braids wasn't gonna do anything...damn near my whole head needed to be redone! ‍ And the amount of HAIR used?! CRAZY! The feathered crochet hair comes 50 pieces in a pack & she used ALL 6 PACKS...that's 300 pieces!! Some individual braids had damn near 10 pieces of hair attached to ONE braid! When I got this SAME style here in June, they only used around 4 packs! And don't even get me started on the GEL!! WAYYYYY too much! My hair was greasy, stringy & just FULL of braiding gel! What really got me is I didn't even know how bad it looked before I left! She showed me my hair DOWN...not UP where I could actually see the parts & all the different sized braids. I got home & my daughter AND nephew was like, "Nahhh Auntie...that ain't it!" So I started pulling it up & REALLY looking through my head like OH HELL NAH! I couldn't even wear my hair UP on my birthday vacation because you could clearly see how inconsistent the braids & parts were! EMBARRASSING AF after paying $240 PLUS TIP! Now I'm gonna be FAIR...Ms. Nikki is VERY nice & she DID respond to me. She offered for me to come back so they could fix the bigger braids. But then she asked if I had MORE HAIR...MORE HAIR?! After ALL 6 packs were already used?! That right there had me like nahhh! ‍ I was already pressed for time because I was leaving for vacation, but after REALLY going through my head, fixing a few bigger braids wasn't gonna fix THIS! Too much needed to be taken down & completely redone. And if MORE hair was needed on top of the 6 packs already in my head...I definitely wasn't going back! ‍ At this point, I don't want NOBODY else playing in my head! The damage has already been done! I also don't like that you have to PAY halfway through the service when you haven't even seen the finished product yet! I paid for SMEDIUM Miracle Braids...that is NOT what I received! PERIOD! It's really disappointing because my first experience was so good & I REALLY thought I had found my go-to braid shop! Unfortunately, I won't be returning after this! I'm posting the pictures too because y'all can look at the sizing, parts & overall result and judge for YOURSELVES! ‍

So many things to say.. first of all ladies!!! Be careful of the hidden fees. The minute you walk…read morein you are slapped w a 4% service fee for "complimentary drinks, magazine subscriptions and quality hair products " as a consumer, you should NOT be paying this, especially if they claim it's "complimentary." Secondly if they slap on a toner, a gloss or some root treatment BE SURE TO ASK THE PRICE!!! They quote you an amount at the start, then begin adding product to your hair without warning or permission. That's wrong! Then you walk out w an almost 400$ bill when you were quoted half. Not all clients are hair savvy, they have no idea that these services are extra. It's kinda down and dirty when you don't explain what you are doing to a client. I've been in the service industry forever and have lots of hair dresser friends, this is NOT the way they do business. Common ladies, be clear, be fair and honest, if you want longevity. And unless Vidal Sassoon pops up from the grave, or Chris Appleton is doing my hair- it ain't never worth 400$.

This is a very very old review (more than 2 years ago) that I never posted…read more I was looking for micro loc installation about 2.5 years ago. I was excited to come here for my consultation. I scheduled online for a consult with 2 strand twists--my everyday style that I DIY at home weekly. Because they want you to come with your hair free of style and product, I washed my hair the night before so she could evaluate my hair for microlocs. I fully expected her to wash again and style with twists. I believe the consultation was $25-35 but of course the 2 stand twists were another $90+. I was completely fine with that as I would be walking out with a style. I pulled up to this long driveway and there were no cars in the driveway. Many of us have experienced this in the past, getting to a locked salon. I really thought this type of experience was in my past. You know... sitting in the car trying to remember if you had the wrong day or time. I expected a higher level of service at a place like this. After 15 minutes a car drove in. I waited until she got out to make sure she was the stylist. When I saw her reach In the car for the laundry basket full of towels, I was reassured. She didn't even look in my direction to give me the familiar head knod to acknowledge me or simply okay me to come in. Like totally ignored me like I was the one that was late. Very awkward...I know she saw me. She drove past me to park closer to the door and this is a huge, private driveway with only our 2 cars. When I walked in she didn't apologize for being late. She verified my name and told me to check in at the kiosk without any further instructions. And then asked me if I had been there before as I struggled to figure out how to work the device. She she showed me how to check in using what looked like an iPad on a stand. Things went well from then onward. She measured my hair and did all the things. I had the quote. I was ready to book and we found a weekend she could install the microlocs. A few days later I got a voicemail from someone (not the stylist) at the salon that said they could not accommodate me and are canceling my appointment. She gave me the name and number of another salon that I could try. Some place in Garner!!! SMH! Really? The place looked legit online but I wasn't going to Garner. This place was already way out the way. No explanation! Nothing! This left a very bad taste in my mouth. I never would have wasted my time or paid for a consultation if they were just gonna cancel like that. And I paid $90+ for a style I could have done at home. Not for you if you're expecting basic respect and reliability! Yes, I liked the twists. But I'm 2 years Locd and happy this place didn't want to service me.
