I ended up stopping by this casino as a rest stop before going to Biloxi. I came here around 9am. The downside is that they have no places that are opened that are eat. The place also looks run down as well, but they are making improvements there as I saw them doing some renovations. Casino size is a good size. They have 1100 machines there and a good selections of old school lots, versus new school slots. They have a drink station of soda and a refrigerator for water. I ended up putting those to good use. The bathrooms were interesting as the town did have water issues down to the winter freeze. The toilets did not flush powerfully. They have a nice lounge for Emerald and Up, I tried to use my card to access the lounge but did not work, but a nice lady let me in with hers. It has a nice couch and private bathroom. I guess if you needed to go to sleep this is the place. I came on a Saturday and it was not too busy, but it might get busy at night, I am not so sure. My Gaming experience was I was having a lot of fun. I guess when you hit a jackpot over 2K you should be having fun. I also had some good wins at the casino as well as shown in the picture. I played diamond run and enjoy the game quite a bit. I ended up getting the bonus three times. One was a dud, one was alright and one ended up being a jackpot. The high limit room was alright. They have a different kind of top dollar as there was a Blazing 7 kind. I ended up playing the machine, however no luck. I had luck at Pinball. They have a nice and friendly staff as I was helped very fast when the machine broken. There was in particular that was broken and I ended up on it. The security and staff was nice as well and kept asking me for a drink, but I told them no as soda and water is okay with me. I came here on the 2nd visit, but did not have much luck. I am not so sure if it was because I was carrying over my losing streak from Biloxi at Harrah's. But I was losing really fast there that I ended up leaving in an hour. I would definitely come back here as a pit stop and if my wife comes with me she can at least rest at the lounge. I will NEVER set foot into another Boyd gaming institution. I went with my mother on 12/26 you ATM MALFUNCTIONED, rebooted and debited $207.50 out of my account but didnt dispense my funds. Instead of fixing the issue i was told that although it was inside of the building they were not responsible. I was handed a phone number in Canada and the employee walked off. I should not have had to jump through hoops for 2 weeks to get my money back. I was 3 hours away from home. They saw everything on camera. They could've humored me and given me complimentary play and taken it right back. Instead I was treated as if both me and my money were insignificant. Here it is 1/12/27, 17 whole days later and my funds were finally returned after they completed the same investigation that was done that day that proved that the ATM MALFUNCTIONED and that their staff and facility needs a better protocol for situations like this. How do you open up an atm, retrieve a person's card, SMILE, hand them a phone number and walk off like its business as usual??? Do your self a favor, drive the extra mile and go to another casino. read more

For a smaller casino they have a great assortment of games. New games with some old fun vintage ones. Extremely fast hand pays and drink service fast and efficient. I've never stayed at hotel but would like to one day. Just a short run off hwy brought me a little luck. read more

Nice small backwoods race track with a casino attached. The buffet is very good with a lot of cajun choices on the menu though oddly enough the signature dish of boudin was not on the menu when I went. There is no grandstand though there is a free area similar to an OTB with all of the tracks around the country. There is also a clubhouse area upstairs. If you're traveling from out of town and not familiar with the place in the historical rich city of Opelousas, this hotel can seem like an excellent place to stay. As advertise it has a casino, horse racing, and several restaurants that are connected to the hotel. All of these items can make it quite attractive people to stop by. The hotel is stock with an excellent staff , very friendly very courteous, and very supportive of their clientele the hotel is however a little pass it prime and very much in need of a makeover modernize it and bring it into this century. I do understand that Covid has cut back on many of Owner's economic desires to upgrade but this Hotel reminds me that with a little more patience this place will be the gem and future attraction of this town. A improved not only the decor, the amenities, and especially the food. This is Opelousas Louisiana home of some of the greatest cooks in the state the breakfast here should've been outstanding and it was very subpar as a fellow Louisiana I expect better and deserve better. I stopped in here to check out the casino with a co-worker while in Opelousas. The place is well kept, and there are plenty of slot machines to choose from. There are no table games to be found. Unfortunately there was no live racing going on while I was there. If your in the area looking for something to do, it's not a bad choice. read more

Have been here on and off since it opened. It's a fave for fam from Florida to see horse racing and play the slots. Over the years, the buffet has gotten better and now recently, on a Thursday night, back to less than meh. Also, If I order a dirty martini at a daiquiri spot and get giant olives, why can't I get them at a casino "resort"? More meh. Whoa mama! This was the first place we stopped to eat in L.A after driving in from Dallas. We were told it was REALLY good food, best in the area. But let me tell ya, Our Cajun hosts won't be taking anyone back there again for several reasons. First we went for the buffet on the first floor, but it was $68 for two on this Friday night, so we went to the upstairs buffet overlooking the track. The casino employees stopped us at the elevator and gave us blue colored wrists bands and charged us $15/pp for the buffet. But then hand wrote in a $6.08 tip on top of that before giving me the cc slip to sign. I objected but was with a group so I didn't raise too much hell over it. They said that's the way they always do it. Once upstairs it was odd, very odd. We asked to be seated on the same floor with the buffet so we didn't have women in heels walking up and down stairs with food in their hands but our request was ignored. After finding our table we went to get plates from the buffet line but unfortunately the first three plates I picked up looked like they had been washed by the horses running the track, DIRTY very dirty. I picked up a spoon and it too was covered in grime. I sifted through a few more and finally found something clean'ish. Going forward I was looking pretty closely at the food. I found a few things that seemed edible and then headed over to a lady who was working a small table with roast beef. I walked up and it was like I wasn't even there. She just stared off blankly, it was ODD very ODD. She finally cut a slice of meat off and put it on my plate but didn't offer anything else or do anything else. We exchange no words at all. I took a little au jus, and horse radish and headed back to the table. The waitress got our first round of drinks and I proceeded to eat the gruel on my plate. All of it was awful. Literally some of the worst food I've ever eaten. The 6 of us started making comments along the lines of "Well at least they got the Tabasco right" Even my coke was off. The ratio of syrup to soda was light. The meat was cold, the food was bland, the quality was horrific. Even the icing on their cup cakes was straight up corn syrup, Crisco and food coloring. The waitress didn't revisit our table after the initial round of drinks. Well after we were done eating and 1/2 our table had left the building she still hadn't brought our bill. We eventually went up stairs, found her, asked for the bill and paid. I was happy that we hadn't paid $68 for the buffet downstairs. It appeared as if they had exactly the same deserts and likely had the same exactly quality of food. Whatever you do, don't spend your money in such an absolute crap hole. $10/seafood buffet Considering it's a buffer the food was good, especially the sauces put over the rice. There was a lot of breading on the shrimp, so I cut down to the shrimp DESSERTS WERE FANTASTIC - small (~3" diameter) individual pecan pie as well as chocolate pudding pies were very tasty with excellent crust. Food was subpar it seems like everyone is ok with shi**y food. Gumbo was terrible at best mostly sausage no chicken. It seems they use to much rue not enough stock. Rude breakfast people jump in front of you when refilling things, the front desk manager leaves her desk and locks the front door...no sign to tell guests how to get back in. Very bad experience! Place has a fetish for checking ID's! My wife & I were checked 3times in 1hr & we decided to leave as it was getting to be aggravating. Very uncomfortable feeling. Never have this problem at Cypress Bayou, Paragon, or Delta Downs.... Needless to say we will never return. Rather give our money to a casino that will let us enjoy giving it instead : ) read more
