Dr. Schemen is so incredibly thorough. His team is amazing. They are REALLY taking the time to educate patients here, which is also rare. Appointments might be long - because it's needed! Is having a 5 day patch test done exactly fun? No... but SIGN UP NOW if you have eczema or rashes! And guess what is less fun? Suffering for years, having multiple dermatologists do nothing but prescribe steroids, burning ointment or immunosuppressants when all you have to do is spend 5 days on a patch test, learn your allergens, and then avoid them and you're fine. I went to my derm who referred me and cried thanking her for referring me to Dr. Schemen because it was a MISERABLE time until they helped me. Of course, you might have a rash that's not due to a contact allergy - but so many are finding help here regardless, I think it's worth going. RUN... don't walk.

I say this because when he was done with the peel, my right and left side of my face was burned and deeply scarred. I had to go to his office repeatedly for a cream which he charged me a lot for to apply it to my face. The scarring never went away and now 2026, I am still babying that scarring with high priced creams. When I went back to see him directly after he did my peel, his nurse/ assistance was gone. So, did HE actually do it or had his assistant do it. I was never told that!! He always charged me for every visit after he screwed up my face!!! shamful! Yes, he always talked the big talk but did not do what he said would happen!!! He knew he screwed up but never tried to make it right by me. Every time I put on makeup or wash my face , I think of HIM.

As a kid I lived in Guadalajara, Mexico from age 10 to age 17. Guadalajara is almost tropical,…read more5,000 feet elevation and sunny about 80% of the time. It was the 70's and we were not great about sunscreen. I think my nose was burned the whole time. I spend weeks at the beaches on the Pacific without a dab of sunscreen. Being of anglo/irish extraction, this is not really good. I'm paying the price now, but with proper maintenance I can live with it. Every 6 months I have a full body derma exam. That doc burns off the pre-cancerous growths and biopsies the others. When he finds something that needs to be "excised" then I schedule an appointment with Dr. Menaker. Over the last 10 years I have had (I think) 11 surgeries done by Dr. Menaker to remove a variety of cancerous lesions. Most of these were simple excisions on the legs, arms, chest, back but three of them were more complex MOHS surgeries - Ear, Nose and Chest. (I once had someone else do the surgery - but they left a part of a stitch in the wound and it took weeks to work its way out - no more.) First thing to know is that Dr. M. ONLY DOES SURGERY he does not do exams. You will need someone else to do the exams. Here is what I have experienced in his practice: 1. His staff is super capable, pleasant and stable. They have worked there for years and are consummate professionals. 2. Dr. Menaker and his staff communicate with each other very well and are a well oiled team. 3. Dr. Menaker is a really, really good surgeon. Precise, careful, and great stitching. And you don't feel anything. I just had MOHS surgery on my nose and didn't even feel the injection of local anesthesia. 4. The wounds heal quickly and I have never had an infection. 5. The surgical suites always look brand new and are spotless. 6. They laugh a lot. The team working there is good and they enjoy what they are doing. Dr. M. and his team are specialists, they are really good at what they do and they strive for (and I think achieve) excellence. It is rare in today's world. If I ever move away from Chicago area don't know what I will do. Guess I'll have to travel here as needed.

I was told my another dermatologist to go back and have some, thing done about it. The assistant knew my date of surgery, etc. I asked if there would be a charge. If there was a charge I would have not gone. She said " oh, no there is no charge. The follow up is part of the original surgery. We want you to be happy". The doctor saw me for all of 5 minutes, said there is nothing I can do for you. Put makeup on it. Shortly thereafter, I received a bill for $130. I called the office and spoke to the same woman who said she was one who made appointment. Now it was a whole different story. She denied saying there would be no charge. I am neither stupid nor deaf and I truly wish I had a recording of the conversation. It seems she does not know what she is doing.

Dr: Warner assured me that he could help. Whereas other surgeons were arrogant and short, Dr. Warner was humble and thorough. He was kind to everyone and very talkative when interacting with my family as well. The surgery went very well. Dr. Warner was kind enough to send flowers to my house and equip me with a special makeup palette to cover up bruising. I've never heard of any doctor adding those special touches (note: a friend of mine had a different procedure with Dr. Warner more recently than I and did not have anything sent to their home, so I'm not entirely sure if this is something his practice still does). Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Warner. Do not "chance" your rhinoplasty with a doctor that isn't highly skilled or trained in it. I learned this the hard way. Go with the best! Also, the doctor is cute.

Dr. Warner is a Fraud - Stay Away!…read more I want to warn everyone about my horrible experience with Dr. Warner. I have had three failed nose surgeries under his care. My nose is still crooked, I am still bleeding, and despite all his promises, there has been zero improvement. During the third surgery, he took cartilage from my rib, which resulted in a painful infection under my breast. Each time I saw him, he assured me things would get better, but instead, he kept injecting sterilizing injections into my nose--without any real solution. I finally told him that I would be suing him for his incompetence. Now, just because I spoke the truth, he suddenly refuses to see me. He feels threatened because he knows he has done wrong. That's fine--I'll see him in court. If you look at other reviews, you will see a pattern: botched surgeries, infections, and serious complications. He doesn't even wash his hands properly, which is why so many patients suffer from infections. His entire practice is a fraud, and he should not be allowed to operate on anyone. I strongly urge everyone to research his educational background before trusting him. If anyone wants to see proof of what he has done to my nose, feel free to reach out. Stay far away from Dr. Warner. He is a pure fraud.
