I stumbled up the shop walking the Parisian streets and in much need of a hat. This whole area ((off rue de Rosier)) is lined with cute shops but his one made me buy!! Audry the sales associate really helped me customize my hat perfectly. If only I'd found this store before we got married I would have loved to pick out a one of a kind head piece, possibly even my veil. I hope to visit the shoo again!!

I walk out with this handcrafted hat made in Paris for 450 euros. Only con , they do not answer their phones!! And their website, IG/FB accounts, and here on Yelp do not display hours of operation! We landed at CDG at 5pm, hopped into a cab directly to Maison Michel (1 night layover in Paris)..I got very lucky I walked out with a hat that I liked .. Thank you young (and pretty) British lady for great service. I explained that my French was not good. She spoke English very well. After choosing a style (there were 5 styles to choose from in the felt) she showed me the different color felts to choose from. There were so many choices!!! Then we chose the ribbon band and the smaller ribbon piece for the side of the hat. It was all customizable. I paid for my and left to walk the streets for an hour while they assembled my choices. I came back in an hour to see my new beautiful hat hanging behind the counter ready to go. The quality was superb. While picking up my hat, I actually ordered another hat to be shipped to home to USA. I will definitely be stopping here again when I visit Paris.

The boutique has intricate and elaborate jewelry and accessories with a Goth slant. Lots of jewels and skulls. The contemporary designs are mixed with racks of vintage capes and hats that date back to the 18th century. Beautiful silks, laces, velvets and feathers with antique silver mirrors, etc. A back room contains even rarer pieces but Mr. Emo forbade us from going in there to see it. He said it was a museum, but there were prices listed. I guess he looked at us and figured we couldn't afford to buy whatever was in there. Otherwise, there were plenty of CDs of what looks to be Mr. Emo's music strewn all over the store. There are other locations, but I don't know if they have the same weird vibe as this one does. If you can get in here, the stuff is gorgeous and worth a look/purchase. I actually walked by this place late at night to see if it was open for the vampires, but it was not.
