I booked 2 tickets to travel from Amsterdam to Paris Nord, the night before travel for a late evening train. Tickets were 298 Euro/ $325 US. When they came to scan tickets, I was told that our tickets were canceled by the company for unknown reason. I checked my account and sure enough the payment did go through. The conductor told us there was nothing he could do because the booking code was showing cancelled. He provided no explanation ever after calling it in. We were told to either purchase 2 tickets on the spot or get off at the next stop. So we bought 2 more ticketsto get us to paris. Two days later when I got to the states I informed my bank of the situation. I contacted Eurostar through the online chat on NS international website and provided them the booking code and Explained that I was due a refund. I was told to wait to be connected to someone to help. No one ever replied. I reached out via the WhatsApp number that was provided and same thing happened. No one ever replied back after the booking code was given. I never received any emails or communication about the cancelation, and was never made aware of any problems before hand. This happened July 22, 2024 and it is now August 7, 2024 and still no contact. I now see why they have over 80 percent 1 star reviews. Horrible, non existant customer service is what they have. We traveled business class from Paris to London. Much nicer that dealing with all the travel and security at airports. We took advantage of the lounge which was beautiful ( of course as all public projects in Paris are) and a great selection of wines, coffees, and savories to munch on before the train departs. The Eurostar serves a lunch and is very stable and extremely quite. A joy to see what real train travel is unlike the dirty , decrepit dinosaurs that inhabit the east coast of the US. read more

Eurostar is high-speed train connect to some Europe cities. It runs hourly between London and Paris. We booked our train fr London to Paris online and got good discount for early train time and booking. The train pretty nice, quiet and fast. They sell some food and drink on the train. If you have large baggages, I would sit beside or watch it. However, they don't provide wi-fi on the train. I would say this is best and easy way to travel to Paris. read more

Don't even think of this. London to Paris on 20 June. Passport control was a joke run by big top clowns. The automated system kept failing and a fellow doing a poor Inspector Clouseau impression wandered out from time to time with a hammer and a key and just kept resetting the system. The "Business Premier" lounge was like a refugee camp. Nowhere to sit. Looked nothing like the pictures in the website. Goodness knows what outside the club was like. On and carriage 12 on the 1:31 to Paris had no A/C. Outside temp 75 degrees - inside I guess at between 85 - 90 degrees. Worst train ride every. Eurostar should be expecting a raft of chargebacks as this is *not* what was advertised. Eurostar sucks balls. read more

A part of me feels a little sad whenever I board this train because it usually signals that my European holiday is coming to an end. So far, of the three times that I have been to Europe, I have been on the Eurostar twice, both times have been from Paris to London, and London has basically been the end of my journey (though I generally ended up pottering around there for about a week). However, I still love the Eurostar, particularly since it is the quintessential high-speed rail train, and the last time we were on it it hit 320 kph. Also, even though I had become used to first class travel with my Eurail pass, economy class on the Eurostar isn't all that bad. The journey itself takes about two and a half hours, and honestly, I would rather catch the train to London than the plane. The other cool thing is that it now has free wifi, and you even get wifi while under the English channel. Mind you, the coffee is pretty ordinary, and as I have previously mentioned, since you have to go through customs before you board the train, I would suggest getting there about two hours prior to it leaving. Horrible experience I would not be traveling with Eurostar again. I had scheduled a ticket to visit Paris for the first time while staying in London and I didn't know they use military time, they could not refund me the money nor let me get in the train or get me a new ticket knowing I have booked it wrong... things happen but they didn't care to return to London I had to buy another ticket for the next day I am so disappointed that their costumer could not help me at all. Their workers were not very friendly either and they keep making comments such as "you're from America right?" So degrading why does that matter? Their costumer service suck! Eurostar changed our train time at check in without telling us, resulting in us missing the correct train and then left us (2 adults and 2 children) with no seats and left us sitting on the floor like animals. We had to beg other passengers to at least let our children sit down. And now, after many emails back and forward with the usual generic defensive nonsense, they refuse to refund us or accept any wrongdoing whatsoever "well you made it back didn't you? We picked up the Eurostar from Paris to London at the Gard du Nord train station. It took us quite awhile and a lot of questions before we figured out that you take the lift to the second floor and enter a security screening and passport control before you cross over to the waiting area for the Eurostar. Signage is pretty poor. Get there early to figure out where to go. Once the train is ready for boarding, you follow everyone down a secured escalator to the train platform. The train itself was just fine. You figure out which car you are on by looking at the signs pasted on the windows of the doors of each car. The overhead racks are large enough to hoist your carry on luggage into. read more

Without a doubt one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. We traveled from Amsterdam to Paris aboard the Eurostar and loved every minute of it. The train station was extremely well organized and clean, we arrived early to watch Amsterdam prepare for a regular work day. It was amazing as people were going and coming in every direction possible by foot on bicycle or by car, everyone moved with a sense of urgency with very little confusion. We had breakfast at the train depot before we departed and it was great. Once aboard the train you must carry your own luggage and place it in the train yourself before being seated. Travel lightly! The train has seats that face each other with a table in the middle. Snacks are available for a price that was not over budget. The scenery was fantastic, we made stops in several towns to let passengers off and then-we continued on our journey! The train moves extremely fast and before you knew it we were in Paris. Clean restrooms on the train and a really great atmosphere made for an exciting ride. We liked it so much we used it again to get to London! Love the Eurostar! read more

The WORST experience of my life. They give you no information ahead of time about COVID restriction changes to the UK. The representatives from Eurostar made me miss my train saying that I needed to first pay for the UK vaccines from their government. It took 2 hours to complete the online process and 400 pounds!! So once I did that the Eurostar agent confirmed that me and my fiancé were going to be able to board the train. Then once we get past the French police, we then get past the UK police and finally ONE MORE station to get to (mind you this was taking the 5pm train and waiting 4 hours past our original try at this) the UK border agent tells us that we are not allowed in the UK because although we are American we can't come in through France. He threw my Covid vaccine cards and negative test results at me and called another agent to a hold cell where we waited two more hours (missing the next bus) and then finally we were escorted BACK to the French side of the station and told we were out of luck. After explaining all this to the Eurostar agent she told me that the tickets were "unrefundable" and didn't seem to care much about my situation. Honestly, the WORST experience and now I despise the UK and vow never to take the Eurostar ever. This company only cares about your money. They dont value you as a customer. The most they will do is give you another date to travel which does me no good since I will never go back to Europe after this horrible treatment. read more

We had planned on staying near this station because we wanted to do a day trip to London. Having walked through NUMEROUS times, I saw where the Eurostar ended it's journey. And where all the passenger exited. Took my husband, daughter and grand kids to wait for the train on the anticipated travel day to London. Saw NO SIGNS indicating that the train ride was anything other than straightforward. Wow. Was I wrong. I'm going to cut to the chase here and say that there is NO INDICATION that one must go through an entirely different route to board this high speed train. I was getting a bit anxious when a Parisien passed by and attempted to tell me "eurostar" must be taken upstairs. For departures. He kindly showed me a lift. NO SIGNS WHAT SO EVER. Took the lift and found that the "Londres" Hall handles departures. Nice if they told someone. Forms/lines/check ins/security ensued.. Eurostar needs to perhaps let people know. read more

There is no easier way to connect two of the world's greatest cities than the Eurostar. With only a 2.5 hour comfortable train ride, you will be in central London in no time! The train itself is pretty comfortable and the coach is like the plane counterpart except with much more spacious leg room, wider seats, and softer padding. Each car also has a significant amount of luggage bin overhead or the ends, so you don't have to worry about where to put your luggage. Although my ride to Paris didn't have an continental electric outlet, my return trip to London did so don't bet on it. All the coach cars are the same, but if you want the best position, coach 5 is the best way to go because it's close to restroom and bar. Don't worry though: despite being so close to the bar car, it's still quiet for you to sleep on the train. Like air fare, the train fare also becomes more expensive as the date approaches so book early! My fare was about €50 one-way for youth and I booked it three months in advance. If you want travel between London and Paris, I highly recommend choosing the Eurostar over the plane! While the train ride itself may be longer than a plane ride, the process of getting to and from the airports will significantly reduce the speed advantage. Plus, the train ride is a lot more comfortable too! --- TIPS TO RIDE THE EUROSTAR: 1) Book your tickets early but look out for deals, Return is always cheaper than two one-ways 2) Show up at least 30 minutes at London and 45 minutes at Paris. On the London side, check-in process goes through a passport control and a security check. On the Paris side, it's the same but with TWO passport control, one of which requires you to fill a Landing Card. 3) Select Coach 5 for closer restroom and bar access 4) Print your tickets! read more

They are doing everything they can at Eurostar Trains to make sure all the advantages trains usually have over planes are gone: you must be there an hour before the train leaves to go through all the ridiculous security checks with slow and unfriendly staff. On the way to London they didn't let us enter the check in because we were there only 25 minutes instead of 30 minutes before departure even though the terminal was empty, and we made it through all security in 10 minutes afterwards. They charged us 45 EUR each, so we could take the train two hours later... On the way back to Paris they didn't let us bring our camping knifes (that we brought without problems on they way to London) and there is no option to check them in - they simply don't offer a solution other than leaving them behind! One real advantage would be that there is free Wifi - but this is only in theory, we barely had a connection on the way to London and weren't able to connect on the way back at all. This was it with Eurostar - we're going to take the plane again next time. read more

We were traveling from Paris to London to catch a flight back to New York with our 8 month old daughter. Thirty minutes into our journey, the train stopped. No updates, no AC, no electricity, no lights even, no water. It was terrible. The toilets stank and our infant daughter was miserable. It was a terrible afternoon that I wouldn't wish for my enemies. That went in for FIVE hours. When a new train came to take us to London we had to move our luggage into the new train ourself and that took an extra three hours. All in all - even though I built in an extra 5 hrs of cushion it wasn't enough and it took us over SEVEN hours to get to London. I was charged $1800 because I missed my flight. I took it up with Eurostar and virgin air for months and no one would help me. Can you believe that Eurostar wouldn't even give us a full refund??? They only offered half even after I escalated apparently to the highest level of "customer care." Heartless and poorly run business. Our family now has $2k in credit card debt because of Eurostar. Took the Eurostar from Gare du Nord Paris to London. Getting on the train was an ordeal due to some idiot leaving a bag unattended which brought in the bomb squad and the French military. Then the two trains originally an hour apart got processed one at a another which created massive ques and confusion. There were no announcements I guess since they didn't want to cause panic. The Europeans in line don't seem to be too surprised, as I imagine this is the new normal for them now. One you get past the boarding process, the trip was a pleasure. We were in the standard premier class which included lunch and drinks which was surprisingly good. The cabin is spacious and the ride is smooth. Two hours from Paris to London. I had a few experiences with eurostar. Most of them are very positive. I got very annoyed when the trains were not running because it was too cold on each side of the tunnel in December (sic!!) However my most recent encounters have been much more pleasant. If you want to go to Paris or Belgium, no need for long check in times at the airport and endless repacking of the suitcase so it's the right weight. Extra bonus: if you're going to Belgium, you are able to take connection trains from Brussels without having to but another ticket. St pancras station is pleasant enough, you can go to the shops if you're there too early and if not you can enjoy a coffee and a magazine whilst you wait for boarding. Gare du Nord, it not so pleasant so don't go there too early!! I am clearly getting older as i like my comfort a bit too much. So instead of buying Standard ticket, i get Standard premier tickets. They are usually just a tiny bit more (and sometimes cheaper!!) and definitively worth it!! Your seat is wider and there is more leg room AND you get some food and wine!! Usually the food is on a small tray and it's not a four star meal but it's decent and passes the time. If you don't want wine, there is plenty of other options and the staff on the train keeps on going through with tea and coffee. read more

Great that it is a direct line (London to Paris and return on train we took). They have some small food choices and drink choices on train. It goes a 180 mph and on a pretty straight line. The trip to Paris went smooth. The way back was delayed 30+ minutes due to changing all the tickets as you went through the line - we heard another passenger say to grab the changed ticket. No one from Eurostar was there assisting or a sign or shouting out that tickets had changed, etc., which probably would have helped everyone get correct tickets and would have eliminated delay and confusion. read more

We took the Eurostar from London (St Pancras station) to Paris (Gare du Nord station). Processing through customs (London side) was painless. We had a early morning train, it was not very crowded. We enjoyed the train. It was super fast, quiet and clean. The seats were very comfortable and we had lots of leg room. We had upgraded to Standard Premier. We were served a light/refreshing breakfast. It was cool seeing some of the countryside in London and France as well as going undersea through the Channel Tunnel. The Paris Nord station was hectic and packed. As soon as we arrived we were hit up by a gypsy lady trying to scam us, we told her to get lost. What I like about the Paris Nord station is it is filled with distinctive sounds/chimes/acoustics (the building structure seems to amplify it). Hailing a taxi was easy. I'd heard lots about the Eurostar, but for some reason I wasn't impressed with it. Sure, it's fast, but looks like one of those Amtrak trains I take from Pennsylvania to New York. The wi-fi was supposed to be available, but was only available in theory. Every page was taking so long to load, that I would give up after some time. Yes, I acknowledge that the train was quieter than the Amtrak train, but the hype is not justified. What I like is the connectivity it gives you between cities in Europe. Airports and flights have got a bad reputation - no one wants a part of them unless there is no other transport option. Eurostar is an excellent alternate option to bad airport smells and delayed flights. read more

Had a fairly straightforward experience traveling Eurostar from London to Paris and from Paris back to London. None of the staff were overtly friendly but they were efficient enough and provided answers where needed. The signage is easy enough to understand and they have it in English for travelers from London to Paris and other countries who probably speak enough English to get around so that was a plus and we didn't get lost at all while trying to find where to go and what to do. The online tickets don't specify which class you are in so we actually were Business Elite or something and could've gone through the preferred check-in lines but had no idea as our tickets didn't say this ANYWHERE. We didn't find out until we'd gone through everything and were looking for the platform waiting area that we were in fact some of those people who had paid more and could've gone through the easier and faster lines. Humph. Also - the food is absolutely awful. I mean, disgusting. They had some cold thing that looked like salmon and they called salmon but I wouldn't recommend anyone eat it. This was our first time taking Eurostar. We took it from London to Paris. London was great, we got on easy. They just changed our seats without us knowing. Which was not cool because when we brought our tickets we got to choose our seats. If they wanted to change them, then their wasn't a reason to pick before hand. Also wish we were on a newer train older train was dirty and worn down. Needs a facelift. But it is a quick way to get to France. read more

This is the only way I recommend from getting between Paris and London. You get from the heart of one city to the other. There's none of the planning your day early so you can get 30 minutes outside of the city and going through some BS line to only wait an hour or more for a plane. Issued a Level Three Travel Warning for many of the countries Eurostar serves, Eurostar's even continues to promote travel to and from those venues to likely further help spread COVID-19 and contribute to additional sickness and death of those customers and communities. I don't understand why these staff next to the train are paid. They are completely useless. I had two heavy bags and asked for some assistance. The lady at the upstairs waiting lounge told me to ask those standing next to the train. So I did. One told me that she isn't allowed to touch my bag and that I should ask other passengers for help (interesting concept except none of the passengers is employed and paid by the Eurostar). Then the guy told me that he isn't the porter and I should figure it out myself. What Eurostar should do is to have 3rd party service providers bid for service contracts to lower cost and provide better services. But since they are a state owned monopoly and still much more pleasant than a flight they have no incentive to do anything. read more

I took the Eurostar from Gare du Nord to St. Pancras in October. I had taken the RER from Paris to the Gare du Nord for 1.10 Euros - what a deal. After exiting the RER I didn't see any signs. The Eurostar platform is at the opposite end of the station from the RER platform, it is marked with an "e", and has its own up escalator to the second floor, but no down escalator, only stairs. I arrived too early and inquired about taking an earlier train but declined the 50 Euro change charge. I wanted to walk around downstairs and found an elevator in the Relay store (the only store located on the Eurostar platform -pre-board). The Paul's bakery was packed with customers. The train was almost full and the boarding and customs process was time consuming with everyone packed in a small area. Once on the train I was seated in a 4-seat area facing other passengers across a table. Although a mask is required while traveling on the Eurostar, there is no enforcement and the majority of the passengers were not wearing masks. The trains highest speed was only 120 km but the train arrived on time and the trip went smoothly. Disembarking in London was also crowded and somewhat time consuming. Overall, I recommend the Eurostar since its a fast way to cross the English Channel. read more

I cant believe that they are so money hungry and dont care about their customers. We as americans had plans to travel from Paris to London on march 24th and our whole vacation was canceled to to COVID 19, we weren't even allowed to travel to Paris because of the lockdown. So I called Eurostar (50 min hold) then send multiple emails, finally get a reply saying I get a voucher that I can use from March 2020 to December 2020 but I have book it before the end of June 2020. First of all how will I know all this will be over, and second of all it's not like I need to cancel because of my personal reasons, this was an uncontrollable global issue. Every other vendor had no problem canceling and refunding my money because of the circumstances! I will not be using your services when I eventually re book my European vacation. read more

Truly unreliable. When we got on in London, they combined passengers from two lines due to "technical difficulties". Stuffed in there like sausages, it was very unpleasant. On the way back from Brussels, our train was canceled, again due to "technical difficulties" , forcing us to take a later train, and lose our flights back to US. Now we have to get hotel rooms in London for an overnight stay, so that we can board a flight the next day. If eurostar doesn't have enough people to populate a train, they cancel it and blame it on technical issues. Cowards. They truly suck! read more

We were booked for a tour of London, Paris and Scotland in May. WestJet has already issued Flight Vouchers valid for 24 months. All hotels have issued 100% refunds Eurostar is only offering eVouchers that will expire in Sept 2020. If we don't reactivate the trip by this September they're keeping my money (2 return tickets London - Paris) This is absolutely Unacceptable!!! Shame on you Eurostar! What's stopping you from matching the rest of the world wide travel industry?? You understand that International Travelers cannot simply move travel plans in a week or so.
