I felt like I could really let go all of the stress and just exhale. I booked my massage with Anthony, the co-owner of Broad Ripple Massage & Wellness. I chose him because he has experience with Thai massage, which my body really responds to. The massage with Anthony was wonderful. He incorporated some elements of Thai massage and stretching, but also lots of Swedish massage strokes and deep-tissue work which targeted some of my most tense muscles. I loved that he focused a lot on my jaw muscles and head/neck area, which just so happens to be where I carry a lot of tension. After my massage, I was fully relaxed and dazed, as one should be after a great massage. Afterward, Anthony told me that I also carry a lot of tension in my chest, and gave me some tips on how to stretch those muscles by stretching out my shoulders and arms. I love walking away with more knowledge on how to take care of myself! Broad Ripple Massage offers massages, but they also offer float therapy, which is a type of sensory deprivation that places you in a room with a shallow pool of salt water that makes you buoyant. And you float, in the dark and without sound, and eventually you fall asleep and your muscles and mind relax. I have never tried float therapy, but I think I am going to take the plunge (so to speak) soon, and my first time will definitely be at Broad Ripple Massage, because they have a nice setup. Broad Ripple Massage is located just off Broad Ripple Avenue, behind the Ascension St. Vincent medical offices. You can park in those parking spaces by St. Vincent, and then walk around onto Winthrop Avenue, where you'll see the sign for Broad Ripple Massage.

The salon is beautiful inside and for nails you are upstairs in a cute area that has 2 pedi chairs and a nail station. The pedi stations are individual tubs so if you are someone like me who worried about sanitation these are ideal! Katie took her time getting my nails ready for gel which is key for a lasting gel mani. She also worked with me on what I wanted and let me try on a couple gel colors so I could decide what I wanted. I was able to schedule a sports massage for the following afternoon. I let the masseuse know about the pain I was experiencing and she made sure I was open to cupping which allows the blood to flow more to the area. I was open to anything as long as it provided relief. During the massage she could tell how the muscles in the right side of my back were swollen and apparently I was a little tight on the left as well. I felt instant relief after the massage and finally had a full nights sleep since the pain began. She worked wonders and this will now be my spa of choice! Looking forward to booking my next massage! They have a shared parking lot in front with at least four designated spots for their guests.

Having gone a couple of…read moremonths without a facial -- mainly due to apathy with the selection here in Broad Ripple -- and not having the time to go out of the area, I was happy that my hair salon, A Do, opened a spa next door a couple of months ago. I saw Danelle today. After Danelle examined my skin, she recommended an anti-aging facial that she had on special for Thanksgiving. Not only was the facial one of the BEST that I've received since moving from Northern California to Indianapolis in 2010, but Danelle also included a fabulous neck and shoulder massage...not a quick 5 minute massage either...I left there feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The room was comfortable, the products she used smelled so good that I was craving a smoothie, and the music she played was soothing without being typical spa flute music. An extra bonus is that the spa is about a mile from my home in Broad Ripple and I was able to walk to and from the spa and enjoy the fall weather. I will be back...you can count on it!

My friend referred me to Danelle after hearing me complain over and over about my horrible skin…read more You see, I turned 25 a couple months ago, and my body doesn't quite know how to react to this change. I've had perfect skin up until a year ago, but now it's a disaster. On top of skin that's starting to show a little bit of age, I've got acne scars and a new break out daily. They fit me right in when I needed and even when I showed up early, I still didn't have to wait. On top of that, the receptionist was extremely friendly, which to me, is a huge deal. I made a impromptu decision to go ahead and get an express facial, because that's all I had time for, and it was absolutely amazing. Complete with a neck massage, my first facial was a dream come true. Danelle gave me some advice on what my skin needs, and recommended a renew serum for my skin, which they carried in their salon. Of course, I bought it. I'm planning on getting a facial every 2-3 months until I can tame this mess on my face, and I will continue to go to Danelle every time! When I walked in the whole salon smelled like sewage - this should have been enough for me to walk out, but I didn't want to leave someone without a tip that they may have been counting on so I stayed. I picked out my polish, and we got started about 10 minutes after my appointment time. I was having a grown out builder gel manicure refreshed, and she started by grinding it down, nothing out of the norm. But rather than use the usual builder gel in a jar, she used builder gel with a brush out of a standard gel polish bottle. I thought that was unusual, but at that point what am I going to do other than go with it? At one point she pulled a hang nail out for me which was great because it had been bothering me, but it bled and bled, and I do wish I had been offered a bandaid or something for it. At first when she finished I was happy - and then I realized that my nails felt off when I was grabbing things so I looked at the edges. The nails in certain parts are almost 1/4" thick. Wildly thick. And that's at the end of the nail, where it should be nice and tapered. She also never asked what shape I wanted, which ended up fine but it struck me as odd when she didn't ask. I'm usually pretty open to suggestions from professionals, it would have been nice to talk about it, though. Ultimately - I didn't feel like this was the cleanest or healthiest salon experience I've had. I wouldn't recommend it. I miss 2012-2016 Lotus.

He didn't miss! Jomar was wonderful. Son had scheduled for Swedish massage but I needed a firmer touch. Jomar graciously accommodated the change and provided the best massage I've had! He was very mindful of getting in tune with what I needed. There was no need for me to give him instruction after my initial request - he just worked his magic! I scheduled again with Jomar this week. He did not disappoint!! Deep tissue this time was perfect. I was feeling a little under the weather before my appointment, so I called to make sure it was OK if I still came in. I was encouraged to still come in since I wasn't contagious. Best decision! I now see another amazing massage therapist at Indy Massage Company named Matthew. He is pretty great, and I look forward to relaxing on his table each month at IMC. He is intuitive and firm yet incredibly gentle, and I'm able to just surrender and let him work his magic. I've mostly only booked Swedish massages with him, but one time I booked a longer session where he really worked out the muscles in my upper back and shoulders, which really needed attention.
