It was unusable, so I returned it and searched out in the world. After passing up a sketchy place on Dame Street, I came across this hardware store that had a small selection of converter plugs. Both the gents working there were friendly and talkative, assuring me that they were of good enough quality, or they wouldn't sell them. I went for the less expensive of the two adapters, and it works just swell. Reasonable price. Lifesaver!!! I CAN PLUG IN MY ELECTRONICS OMFGGGGG... I have no other experience, and likely never will... but if I can find an excuse to start a home improvement project in Dublin, I'll come back here.

There are more salespeople than customers but this is a good thing. Unlike the sales assistants in clothing shops who are useless props, the people in PC World are walking encyclopeadias. They're vital to your purchase. They can tell you everything about what you're looking at and how to work it once you buy it. Because most of the price tags are high, they are used to people taking the time to think about it. They don't get mad at you for not parting with your money. PC World carries all the major brands of electronics so you can shop and compare.

The problem is it is not easy to find...it is located through a lane way off the Main Street, at the entrance to Celbridge Hire and right beside Gimini Hair. The proprietor told me Kildare County Council will not allow him to advertise his shop with a sign on the Main Street so he has to rely on word of mouth! Yesterday, I was able to purchase a whole lot of different light bulbs for various light fittings, even one for my freezer...and might I add at an extremely reasonable rate. All you Celbridge people, do call to this amazing little shop for all your electrical needs and other household items!

I was shopping in The Park a few months ago, on a Thursday evening around 7.30. During my trip I had purchased a game from Smyth's and put it in the front pockets of my Jumper before proceeding to go into the computers department of Harvey Norman. So my friend and I were browsing around the shop for a couple of minutes, before noticing that we wore getting a lot of stares by the sales staff around the shop. One approached us and asked us if we required any assistance in which I replied "no thanks, we're just having a look around". Which is fine until as we are browsing and we notice that the staff, and what also seemed to be the store manager to who I to have learned is Colin Curtis, are quite obviously following us around and keeping a very very close eye on my friend and I. At this stage the shop was quite empty and I start to feel very intimidated about how the members of staff where around me so we started to walk towards the exit out of the computers department where the store managers was standing at the security fences, waiting for us to pass. We obviously pass it with no alarm, feeling very uneasy about the whole situation. As I'm walking away I turn back towards the store manager and say, from about 10 feet away, "is there a problem?". He walks towards me and says "what's in your pocket", so with no hesitation I take out the game and the receipt from Smyth's and say "I purchased that in Smyth's before I came in here". His only reply was "Oh sorry we taught you had one of our games in your pocket" and proceeded to walk back to the store" I have honestly never felt so embarrassed in my life. I understand to a certain extent why they taught what they did as it was showing through my front pocket but that is NOT how you should handle a situation where you think somebody is stealing. You never accused me of stealing but I would have preferred to be accused than surrounded and stared at. That is not how you treat your "customers" Harvey Norman. Luke

She listened to what I wanted and showed me an array of mattresses and bed frames until I found the ones that suited my needs. I felt under no pressure and left very happy. I will definitely shop here again.

They buy old games for nearly all consoles, dvds, tablet computers, phones and accessories. you probably wont get much for them but its surely worth it just to clear out some of the clutter. As the name suggests you can also exchange games and Dvds as well... overall it costs less than extravision

I had a notion of what TV I wanted before going in and that's what I got.... but for cheaper than expected. As I strolled my way over to the wall of TV screens, I was stopped and asked if I wanted help, so I said 'yes please... I'd like a TV'... look at me being all grown up and buying a new tv instead of getting second hand ones! I'd wanted a 23inch but it seemed so puny against the wall of giant screens... I had a vulnerable moment and asked about bigger sizes (even though rationally I knew they wouldn't fit in the space in my apartment). Thankfully the sales guy didn't pounce of my wide-eyed moment brought on by too much shininess and just sold me what I asked for, but including a four year warantee in the price... look at me all grown up with a warantee! There is precisely no chance that I won't lose that piece of paper! The TV is now at home and being all shiny and vibrant... I may be experiencing sensory overload as a result!

The first time was January 2012 and the sales where on at it was a fecking nightmare. Parking was almost impossible and you would have thought by the crowds thronging into Harvey Normans that they must be giving the stuff away for free. It was wall to wall with shoppers, the staff where trying to appease everybody and it was utter chaos. I was looking to purchase an American style fridge but I couldn't get adequate attention and the other shoppers where growing impatient at having to wait to be served so I left it on that particular day and purchased my fridge later that mid week closer to home. Today was a horse of a different colour. Midweek, afternoon shopping is always best, no crowds, no queues, plenty of parking, relaxed and considerably more staff to attend to your needs. Harvey Norman is a great place to shop, even if you're only looking to browse or you want to test the "expertise" of the staff with more technical queries. The spaciousness of the the store is the fIrst plus. Goods are well spaced out in the furniture and bedding areas, sections of full bedroom displays with made beds is a real classy selling point. I am in the market for a new bedroom so today was a great day to get a feel of what I wanted. I had plenty of time get a good look at the quality, no issue with giving the bed a good try out, or pull the drawers out and examine thoroughly and to take measurements. We where never hassled by the employees, (which is one thing about furniture shopping I hate, pushy sales persons trying to size you up to reach their monthly targets). The staff kept their distance and allowed us to browse occasionally and politely asking of we required assistance. We spent a couple of hours in the store browsing mostly and had a good rummage in the bargain bins strategically dotted about the place. The range is superb, and the prices seem to be competitive. Harvey Norman also arrange finance and you can get a quote or credit check done in minutes by the staff. Like all big boys I loved looking at the 60" Tv screens and the latest hi-tech surround sound systems, the computer section has hundreds of display items all in working order to try out. Knowledgable staff at the camera section where very informing and not sales pushy which is great. I really enjoyed my day off browsing here and i will definitely be back when I have got the bedroom floors down and the decor sorted.

For an electronics & gadget shop this is the place to go. Every single time I come in, without…read morefail, somebody always greets me at the door and asks if there's something in particular that I'm looking for (this isn't really the type of shop you come to for a browse) and they haven't let me down once. They always seem to have stock. Anything from floppy discs (yep, you can still buy 'em) to 50 meter ethernet cables. They've got it! Staff seem to all know exactly what they're talking about even though there's such a vast variety of things on sale here. They're all extremely friendly and I haven't once been left waiting for somebody to come serve me. They also seem genuinely happy in what they do so it's so much easier to talk to them and get advice. What ever they're doing, they need to keep it up!
