Regardless, I needed a flat ("apartment") for a few months and Haslam's was one of the few that replied to my email. After taking my specifications (price, neighborhood, number of bedrooms, etc.), Haslam's set up an appointment for me to view two of their listed flats. The first one was nice, but it overlooked a rather busy street and I thought it would be too noisy. The second one looks out over a quiet and pretty back garden with a double door though no balcony. It has all the appliances I needed (Brits seem to like drying their clothes on a drying rack rather than an electric clothes dryer!) and a modern look and feel. Recently refurbished, it looks great and the furniture was good. I took it on the spot. Unfortunately, there's an approval process where they have to get a credit and background check, which meant another week in the hotel for me. Eventually, the paperwork came back and I met them in their office to go over the remaining details. Everything was explained well and my questions were answered, so I took possession and paid my remainder.
