My sister's first week at Fox Hill Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing has been an incredibly…read morepositive experience, and I feel compelled to share how impressed we are. From the moment we arrived, we felt a sense of reassurance. The APRN immediately conducted a thorough review of all of my sister's medications. Her level of expertise and experience was truly remarkable--she carefully assessed, adjusted, and fine-tuned dosages with a level of attention that went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. Over the following days, she continued to observe closely and thoughtfully refine her approach, which gave us tremendous confidence in my sister's care. On day one, the physical therapy team completed a comprehensive evaluation and quickly honed in on exactly where my sister needed support. Their ability to identify and target the right areas has already helped move her toward improved mobility at a higher level. It was clear from the start that they are focused, skilled, and genuinely invested in her progress. This stood in contrast to one of our prior concerns at Woodlake at Tolland, where we felt there was overmedication and a lack of direct, personal interaction with medical staff. At Fox Hill, the system feels well-organized, proactive, and centered around the individual. The overall atmosphere here is exceptional. There is a strong sense of teamwork and genuinely positive employee morale. The staff are attentive and responsive, yet carry themselves in a calm, non-urgent manner that creates a smooth and reassuring environment for residents. It never feels chaotic or rushed, which makes a meaningful difference in daily life. The leadership team has also been outstanding. The directors are professional, highly approachable, and clearly on top of anything that needs attention. Most importantly, they act on concerns promptly, which brings real peace of mind to families. Dining has been another highlight. The kitchen staff and head chef are not only talented but also very attentive to individual dietary needs and concerns. It's clear they take pride in both the quality of the meals and the well-being of the residents they serve. One of the most impressive aspects is the number of long-term employees. That kind of consistency speaks volumes--it reflects a supportive workplace and builds trust for families knowing their loved ones are surrounded by experienced, familiar faces. This entire team has brought our family a deep sense of inner peace. After just one week, we already feel that my sister is in a caring, capable, and respectful environment. I truly cannot say enough about the level of attention, professionalism, and compassion shown by everyone at Fox Hill.

Many of our friends recommended the Southington Care Center, and we were fortunate to get in there. I cannot speak more highly of this organization! Attentive, skilled, and caring Nurses, CNAs, and Aides. And the PTs, OTs, and Speech Therapists were not only highly skilled and effective, but they all had amazing and genuine interpersonal skills - a very rare combination. The supporting staff from Admissions to the Social Worker/Transitions professionals, and other Staff were simply great. Other reviews mentioned issues with the food - but we found the food to be unexpectedly well-prepared and delicious! Sure, 5 weeks, 3 meals a day, to hundreds of patients, there were a couple "misses". But my Wife and I were stunned at how good the food was overall. Great job everybody! We are SO grateful that Carol was able to go to the Southington Care Center. (A Note to management... and this is NOT a SCC issue... I STRONGLY recommend you find a different Wheelchair Ambulatory Service than that from "Nazim" [860-990-1172]. Contact me if you need details, but they are a problem for patients and hurting your reputation. Again, these people are NOT associated with SCC at all).

I have had chronic pain since 2006 between my neck, back, knee, foot, and recently tendinitis in my hand for almost 2 years, I have done regular PT and even tried getting a Cortisone shot to release my pain. However, it lasted 2 months and the pain was back even worst then before. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia several months ago and recently was advised to try Aquatic therapy since the pool is 93 degrees. My first visit was beyond compassionate for my pain. I was given several laminated pool exercises after my treatment was completed. Within 3 months of going to the pool 3 times per week-1 hour each time. Not only did my pain in my hand went from a level 9 to 2. I was then able to strengthen my other joints since the water has less poundings on my joints. It was like a healing miracle happened. I am feeling so much stronger not just in my joints but in my mindset as well. Anyone who hasn't had a great experience with this hospital, perhaps you didn't give it a fair chance. I wanted to live my life without as much pain so I can. I did what was advised even when I didn't want to go I went always. I talk to everyone I can about this hospital. I love their logo.... "We rebuild lives" that's just what they did for me. So please don't lose hope where there is breath there is hope. Angela C. from Southington

This I underwent and as was promised, I encountered zero pain while having this casing in place for three months. Now in 2014, that foot still is in great shape and he was able to offer me the quality of life that all would expect. Because of this experience, I found myself here again to address a different issue that has now required the use of orthotics for my shoes. Dr martone is one of the best in the area and would hands down recommend him for any foot related issues.

I figured I could switch if I didn't like her once we were settled in, but I was pleasantly surprised. I liked her a lot! I have always hated going to doctors and would put it off as long as possible, but Dr. Holmes made me feel totally comfortable. She is very personable and spends time with each patient without rushing. She takes the time to answer any questions you might have, and I never feel rushed. She explains everything in easy-to-understand terminology, without talking down to you like you're a child. She is very knowledgeable in all fields and explains the options and tells you what she thinks is the best option for you, without "telling you" what you "have to do". I reached out to Anna at Nutmeg Home Assistance ahead of her return home to plan mom's support. Anna quickly coordinated 24 hr care. Her incredibly compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable team of aides took copious notes about mom's needs. Anna communicated care updates to me and after a few weeks we were able to adjust mom's care to 15 hrs/day. While caring for my mom, my dad suddenly became physically needier. Once again Anna made adjustments to her staffing schedule to accommodate care for both my mom and dad. When dad entered Hospice care, Anna pivoted again and her team tenderly ensured his passing was peaceful. I can not say enough about the responsiveness, expertise, dedication, and flexibility of Anna and her Nutmeg team. They supported mom, and then both my parents, for over 9 months. Nutmeg saved my parents, extending my dad's life and allowing him to spend his final months with his wife (versus in a skilled nursing facility). Nutmeg is staffed with angels and I'm deeply grateful for the professionalism, grace, and attention they gave my parents when they needed it most. Also worth mentioning is that Dad's Hospice care givers raved about the care Nutmeg offered my dad. I highly recommend Anna and Nutmeg Home Assistance.
