I spent a little too much time at Tampa General Hospital and I got a chance to eat the majority of…read morethe food in the cafeteria. I do appreciate how it rotates so it's not the same thing every day. The soups are pretty solid and, in my opinion, one of the best deals. I had a chicken orzo soup that was great and filling. A large cup was $3. Just don't get too attached to any of the food items because they change every day. Service isn't bad as long as the lines aren't too long. Plenty of places to sit and eat. You can also take it back to your room, wherever that is, if needed. I spent some time in the ICU and the waiting room there was nice and spacious on the sixth floor. I also enjoy going to Wright's Gourmet which is a little further down the hall depending on where you are coming from. The sandwiches can be big enough to split. The prices are fairly reasonable and the food is decent enough. This menu stays pretty consistent.

The only thing is that the wait can be very long, which is the only drawback. They have some foods that are readily available and you can just grab so that's good but if you want made to order food, it'll be a long wait. Other than that, the food is reasonable for a hospital cafeteria and for four people, we spent $40 for food and drinks. Really can't beat that. I would return.

FANTASTIC. As someone who loves a healthy breakfast but is married to someone who wants something a…read morebit more decadent... This was the PERFECT compromise! A cute little shop on AMI, we walked in and were immediately and Warmly greeted by the two servers behind the counter. They promptly took and prepared our order. We went soon after opening so we were able to snag one of the few tables indoors. (If you're coming with a group or later in the day, you're better off getting it to go.) My husband had the Arepa King, which was absolutely delicious. A slightly healthier arepa dough but still savory and blended perfectly with the egg, avocado, and feta flavors. The texture and amounts of each were perfectly proportioned. I snuck a few bites! He also got a beef empanada (baked, not fried, which we prefer) and a smoothie. It made me wish I got a smoothie! It was nice and thick (but not too thick), and sweet (but not too sweet). Exactly the way you want a smoothie. I got the detox juice (which I didn't realized was made per order, so refreshingly and had a nice frothy head) and the yogurt parfait. Once again, the proportions were perfect! A nice amount of yogurt, crunchy granola (again, sweet but not too sweet), and fresh blueberries, strawberries, and banana. It was exactly what I wanted before a hot day at the beach. We also got hot coffees, one black and one with their maple donut sugar free syrup. They had so many fun syrup flavors!! Definitely, definitely check this spot out for breakfast when on AMI.

Service is 5stars but the food was not quite as good…read more The lady at the counter asked for my preference of coffee to milk ratio. Customized my juice order based on allergies and was super concerned with my satisfaction. We had the Arepa Queen which was like an Avacado chicken salad on a healthy bun like thing. Points for it being healthy but the flavor was a bit lacking with some hot sauce it was good. Then had an açaí bowl with added Nutella and peanut butter. This was good. The green juices were good and strained. Overall it's a cute spot but I'm not sure I'd be back.

I usually go there and get bagels every couple of weeks for work Tuesdays at 6 AM. The first time I…read moredid that there was a lady there who was really nasty. I just brushed itoff as a rare occurrence. However, I have been going back and every Tuesday morning this lady is there with a real bad attitude and very brusque. On top of it, this last time not a single bagel that I ordered was right, the bagels also tasted stale like they were at least a day old. They had no soufflés either. I think they need to clean up their act, sell fresh food and be more user-friendly.

Unlike any hospital cafeteria I've ever encountered, "Creation Cafe is modeled after the principles…read moreof Creation Health." Those principles are: Activity, Choice, Environment, Interpersonal Relationships, Nutrition, Outlook, Rest & Trust. The cafe opened in 2014. It appears brand new as well as very clean. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM - 10:00 AM seven days weekly while lunch/dinner runs till 6:30 PM. There are many options here: a hot bar; a fresh fruit bar; a salad bar; & a sub sandwich bar. (During standard breakfast, lunch & dinner times, staff will serve you.) There are also soups; individually packaged cereals; toast (a variety of bread slices); bakery items; & refrigerated desserts like custards, puddings, Jello, cake & pie slices. The apple, blueberry, & raspberry scones are very good. There's also a frozen yogurt machine w/ two flavors, as well as accompanying toppings, & a machine for iced coffee. There's the standard vending machine beverages, but also bottled water, coffee, hot tea, carbonated beverages in styrofoam (Pepsi products), milk, & iced tea. Refills on sodas & iced tea are allowed-- may or may not be the same w/ hot coffee & tea. Also available are Nestle bottled smoothies (GMO free). The hot bar provides patrons w/ multiple entrees. (One offering is always meatless.) Tonight the choices were a chili dog w/ fries, baked crusted fish w/ a rice medley & veggies, & spaghetti w/ a side of chicken breast (optional). The following day (update) the choices included barbequed chicken, burgundy beef, soy patty, & chicken tenders-- among others. Don't want the self-serve hot bar? You choose your sliced meat & toppings to build a sandwich. But, had you selected the hot bar, you may be charged by the weight. (You'll have to open your container because there's a base price dependent on what hot food item you selected.) Prices are quite fair. My spaghetti w/ a large banana & large diet soda rang up at $3.71. Yes, $3.71-- a quick hot meal for under $4! Two larger dinners totalled $8.00 each. There are 2 registers for checkout, although at times only 1 cashier is on duty. Any line moves quickly, though; hospital employees simply place their ID in front of a scanner & their transaction is complete. The lighting, dining area & connecting lounge are aesthetically pleasing-- the bold colors blend to create a very comfortable & relaxing place to eat (or just sit). The wide open concept lacks the accompanying anxiety of a traditional cafeteria. This is the first hospital cafeteria I've actually enjoyed patronizing. If you are visiting someone at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (or FHZ, as it's now known), w/ such great prices & the varied selection there's little reason to lose your parking spot to drive nearby for the string of fast food & lackluster restaurants. Bravo to whoever had the vision of Creation Cafe!
