We ended up here during a snow storm. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the towels were thick, and appeared new. Our room was spotless! Also, the water pressure in the shower was excellent. They are also pet-friendly! Note that they closed the hot tub, supposedly due to Covid (but that's not stopping other hotels in NV.) As is very common right now, the desk staffer in the morning was new to her job. She was unable to get the coffee going in the breakfast area, but there was a coffeemaker in our room so that helped. Stayed at the Eureka Gold Country Inn after a day at the Great Basin Park. Eureka is about 3 1/2 hrs from the Park and a convenient layover if you are heading to (or from) Calif. We chose the Inn because it is pet friendly, but as it turns out, it is also quite a nice diamond in the (rural) rough of the Hwy 50 Nevada desert route. The rooms are slightly larger than current conventional hotels (maybe 300 sq ft?), clean, and reflect a past western era. The hotel is very well maintained, has a laundry, and a small fitness area. Walking of pets can be done behind the Inn along a back street. They offer a complimentary breakfast. For lunch or dinner, this small (~450 population) town has a few eateries to choose from. I would recommend you ask the hotel Mgr for suggestions (we did not have time to visit any of them). read more

We stayed here for two nights. Check in was great. Front desk lady was great. We got to meet the owner, Jeff. He was a great guy. We didn't have ESPN in our room due to satellite issues. No biggie. Jeff referred us to the Urban Cowboy Restaurant down the street to watch hockey playoffs on ESPN. we went there twice. Great food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Met Jeff, the hotel owner there both nights. Anyways, our rooms were spotless and very quiet. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you Jeff and staff for making our stay a great one. Forgot to mention the great free breakfast in the morning. Have to try their pancake machine. Great bagels, cream cheese. Great burritos, cereal, muffins and sweet rolls. Don't forget the coffee and juices as well. Will also stay at the Jackson House as well. We did a walk through inside this 1800's hotel. Like being back in time. A surprisingly clean and nice place in the middle of no where. We stayed in the historic building the hotel owns called the Jackson House. We liked it but beware, it's 26 steps to the second floor where the rooms are - the first floor is event space. If you can take the "exercise" of up and down the stairs, it is fun and interesting! Expensive, but what do you expect for the only hotel there. Paid 97 bucks, but the service was awesome. My friend and I got there around 8pm after a long 8 hour drive from CA. The girl at the counter was super friendly and I have to say it was the best continental breakfast I had the next morning. The room and beds were really clean! We went to a bar next door and everyone in general was nice to us. If I ever pass through here I would recommend it to anyone. read more

Friendly front desk clerk at check in. Room is comfortable. Love the beds and pillows. Clean. 2 things lowered my rating: wet carpet outside of bathroom and the herd of screaming teenagers. Apparently it is a tradition here for high school students to run yelling, stomping, and banging on doors thru town businesses to show support for community. I don't quite understand this. It seems like a bad idea for an inn filled with people from out of town for whom this tradition can be disturbing. We thought something was really wrong. I called the front desk and when I asked about the yelling and stomping, I was told it was an earthquake. Not funny. The tradition was then explained. Perhaps the herd, which came thru twice, should just run around the office. Or the desk clerks could warn guests. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. Cool town. read more

I have been staying here for about 10 years as I travel Hwy 50 every couple of months or so. This is one of my favorite places to stay. Formally a Best Western, it is now a non-franchise hotel. The folks are always friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable. It is quite, simple and just nice. I push myself to drive the extra distance to Eureka to stay here over the other options in Ely. If you are after Internet, it is generally very speedy too. I would recommend a stay if you are passing through! read more

Biker friendly, clean, comfortable, price not bad, about $90. It was nice to be able to park the bikes under cover. Would have given 5 stars but the breakfast area is small and they kept running out of items. Get up early and beat the rush. read more

We listened to the reviews and pushed forward to Eureka to stay here. Was a little unsure after looking at some of the pictures. Yes the furniture is a little dated, but the bathrooms were super clean and the beds were very, very comfortable. Staff very friendly and even took the time to show us where the local playgrounds were for the baby. Some reviews commented about lack of parking, which we worried about since we had a huge RV. But just ask the front desk - they have multiple lots in back where you can park. Heads up their online reservation request is not working, you have to call to check if they have space. And they are often full as there are active mines operating in the area. We skipped the breakfast and instead got bfast to go at the pony express deli which was great! If you find yourself driving through the loneliest highway and need a place to wash up and rest, this is it. Ely seemed like a bigger town, but this was hotel more comfortable and no where to really stay for miles after in Austin, Middlegate, etc. read more

The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is due to there being no elevator. Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and 3 boys, and we didn't want to leave. The room was perfect, we felt like we had enough privacy which made us feel like we were at home. The boys loved exercising in the gym every morning and then making their own pancakes for breakfast. But what was really nice were the people. Where else would the owner of the hotel take time to meet you and your family and introduce his own, as was the experience with many of the people in this wonderful town. We hope to return to this lovely hotel on our next trip to Eureka. read more

This hotel is NOT a Best Western Plus!!!!! We made a reservation and we weren't told it was not a Best Western. BEWARE!! I was quoted one price and charged another. When we got to the hotel after a long day on the road we had to call for directions because we were looking for a BW. We were told they haven't been a BW for 9 months!!!! We felt we didn't have a choice, we were tired so we stayed. The room was not bad , but we really felt we were scamed. Also not a great place for our dog. No safe place to walk the dog. We asked to talk to manager but he was not available! !! But we could call him on Monday. REALLY A SCAM!! read more

We were so pleased to find it so nice, clean, and the continental breakfast in the morning was an added bonus. They are pet friendly and we had our cat. What a gem! The Loneliest Highway Is a beautiful drive, and this is a lovely spot to rest. Friendly staff, everything clean, comfortable beds, a HUGE hot tub with strong jets for aching backs, and a lovely continental breakfast array in the morning. Nice,clean place but front desk told us they are having trouble with hot water to run water for awhile . Ran water for half hour no hot water at all . Called front desk they didn't care to be too concern or care told us no other room had success with hot water. Sad it's cold and snowing . Sorry employees don't seem to care for the customer . So I didn't actually stay here, but I highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through cozy Eureka NV. This summer I've been working as a field technician, doing avian population surveys all over the state of Nevada. We work for 10 days, then get 4 off. For me that means minimal showering. This past 4 day weekend, I didn't make it back to Reno in time to shower at a coworkers hotel, and after a weekend of rock climbing, hiking and camping in Yosemite, I was feelin pretty gnarly. I was going on day 7 without a shower and after a sweaty day in the field, I came to this hotel with hopes of using a shower. The manager was really sweet, and offered me a room where the shower was leaking anyways. When that shower was too hot to use, she let me use the shower in the spa area. I offered to pay but she turned down any money. Very great people working here, and from the looks of the rooms, it looks like a great place to stay! Highly recommend it. read more

I got caught in a huge thunderstorm out on lonely highway 50 and was greatly relieved to find a room at this inn and soak in the spa. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, plus there's a large dining room/living room area with snacks and sofas, very pleasant to hang out in the evening. For the price, though, they could amp up the breakfast a little bit, such as including some scrambled eggs as similar places do. Otherwise, I'd give it five stars. Still highly recommended, however. read more

Great place to stay! We arrived to find most of the town was closed down due to mine closures, we still decided to stay. We had hoped to be staying at the Jackson House but they weren't scheduled to re-open till April. Allie checked us in and gave us some info about the town and its history and was super knowledgeable and hilarious! She went out of her way to make us comfortable and we're glad we stayed. This is a nice hotel. We asked to see the room and a young man pleasantly escorted us to examine the room while giving us a rundown on the town's 4th of July festivities. The room is large with comfortable beds. It is very clean and there is a fridge and microwave. There is an adequate breakfast provided. All of this I expect from a $99 a night hotel and was not disappointed. read more
