This place was awesome! The staff was really energetic & there for one thing & one thing only: to serve you delicious foos, promptly. They don't waste time with the niceties but they are never rude either. This place is always bisy & for good reason. The döner meat they have comes in two varieties & I opted for the beef version. You can get Döner, yufka, & a whole lot more starting at around €5 and the price goes up from there. While not the cheapest place in Freiburg, the food is great & the location amongst the many bars means this is a great stop for lunch or a late night sober-up-session. Check it out! read more

I have been coming to this place multiple times a month for over 22 years. Sadly, the new yufka rolling machine is awful. Im not a baking scientist, but I believe that the dough is pressured too intensively in that machine so that it comes out rubbery and tough when griddled. At present, it is hardly better than the stale packaged wraps you can find everywhere else. In your quest for efficiency you threw out the baby with the bathwater. Not every process can be mechanized. Your price has precisely doubled since the Euro came in, and id still be willing to pay it but not like this. In order to get the wrap back to being fluffy and soft, please get rid of the machine and hire the dedicated yufka-maker back. It wasnt just the fresh griddled yufka - it was the hand-rolling that set you apart from the rest. Please get back to making them the traditional way! read more

Incontestablement LA meilleure adresse pour se payer son petit kebab au centre ville de Freiburg. Pour avoir vécu un an à Freiburg et mangé mon yufka (crêpe) à toutes les heures du jour et de la nuit, je peux vous dire que je n'ai jamais été décu. Aujourd'hui de passage, rien n'a changé et j'en suis la plus heureuse. L'adresse commence à être connue alors attention aux jours de semaines car les étudiants de l'université, qui se trouve à deux pas, en raffolent ! Prévoir donc d'être patient et préférer les beaux jour pour emmener son casse croute dans les ruelles de cette ville magnifique. La salle toujours très propre ne peut recevoir qu'une vingtaine de personnes malheureusement. Le kebab est beaucoup plus frais que ceux que nous avons en France : choux rouge, sauce au yaourt, épices et pour les végétariens il y a un choix de haricots, aubergine, houmous qui ne les laisseront pas en reste. The donairs here are fantastic! I had a beef donair and the only criticism was that the server loaded on the vegetables, which washed out the taste of the meat a bit. I would advise going light on the veggies to get the full taste. The restaurant is small, so seating can be scarce at times. It's a walk-up ordering and the menu is in German only with few English-speakers on staff. But, they were friendly and tried to be helpful. Grab a seat outside the doors and people-watch! read more

Decent Döner, but not as good as it's cracked up to be. The meat is decent, and the vegetable selection is okay as well. What's especially good is that they have chicken Döner which, though common in other cities, is strangely and conspicuously much less ubiquitous in Freiburg. Another plus is that they serve hummus as well. It's not great hummus, but this is Germany. That plus is quickly lowered as they charge EUR0.80 just to put it on your Döner though sometimes they'll give you a little for free if you ask nicely. Which I find a little unexpected (in a nice way, though) as the service here is not especially friendly. Beyond that, I find the EUR4 price tag a tad exorbitant for a Döner sandwich. 4 stars, though, because it is a good place. But not my favorite. read more

Very good Turkish food! Not so much the greasy fast-food you get used to in Europe, more like regular, good dinner plates. It's unexpensive and the portions are quite large. The sitting area is quite small, but they have outdoor seating depending on the weather. A very good place for non-fast-food Turkish meals! read more
