The employee who assisted us was patient and friendly. Three donuts and a plain kolache was $6.60. I didn't have anything, but one daughter enjoyed her donut & kolache. The other said her donuts were very doughy, not very sweet. I thought the place could use a makeover. Also, why not put the kolaches behind the glass with the donuts instead of on the counter next to a register? TIP Drive-thru available starting at the east end behind Hometown Convenience Store. This small place is a short drive from the intersection of Highway 18 and the Andrews Highway (176). This establishment has a drive-thru, so my trusty Jeep helped me accomplish just that, however, there is minimal parking out front if you'd like to venture inside. On July 25, 2026, I was greeted by a friendly young lady right away who had just walked in at the last minute to assist her frantic co-worker. I didn't know what they offered as there was no sign and thank goodness I had a smartphone because I was handed a QR code to retrieve the menu. Otherwise I'm sure you could request a hard copy menu. Or just figure out what you want before you get there which is always so difficult for my kids. I don't get it. Anyway... The wait time for the drinks was a bit long, but my medium extra shot iced vanilla coffee ($6) was quite refreshing. Both of my daughters settled on small blue raspberry lemonades ($3.50 apiece). I tried it - pretty good! And like Terminator said, "Hasta la vista, baby."

They have had a food truck set up mostly on the Lovington Highway for well over a year now. I'm so excited that they established deeper roots in Hobbs, NM. I knew right away that I needed coffee & had just seen on Instagram that they had a limited time "fresh pumpkin brown sugar" latte. I ordered a 24 ounce iced version of this homemade concoction ($6.25). Its creaminess was luscious without being overly sweet. My medium club salad ($9) was really good. I just didn't like the bacon that tasted like & looked exactly like the microwavable stuff. The decor was super posh. The gender neutral restroom was clean. The owner was as nice as I remember her from a year ago. She stated that their grand opening will be soon, but further details weren't available. It will be Saturday, October 7, 2023 @ 11AM. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. TIP Don't forget to ask for a loyalty punch card if they don't offer one to you. Ladies... here's some grown a$$ woman advice: Don't talk sh!t about your man to "your girls" at the cafe. Y'all sound pathetic & immature when you talk about how "he wanted to talk to me as soon as I got outta the shower... ugh, he gets on my nerves." And at the risk of being hypocritical, please remove the expletives or at least lower your voice. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 5 | Price: 3

They revived Jerry's grandmother Maude Pletcher's original recipe and "the family tradition of selling fried pies." There are currently numerous locations across Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and now Hobbs, NM. The Hobbs location is inside the brand new Swift Stop convenience store on the Lovington Highway. They have their on counter and glass cases on the north end of the building. These aren't pies in a tin pan. They're hand pies. So you can definitely eat them on the go. While I did not see any savory pies, they offer multiple flavors in the cream or sweet variety. They also have "no sugar added" options. And because the employees were no present when we were at the counter, we headed to the freezer section on the south end of the building. I opted for blackberry. My oldest daughter chose blueberry. My youngest gravitated towards vanilla. These are usually $3.99 fresh out of the oven or kept warm under the display, but I think because we got ours from the freezer they were $2 each. These beautifully prepared hand pies were perfectly cooked. Not greasy at all. For frozen pies, just stick them in the fridge the night before reheating. Cream pies won't go in the oven of course, but you could room temperature thaw them. I didn't do try that this time because pies tend to get soggy that way. For fruit pies, reheat them for 25-35 minutes at 350°F. My oven usually cooks everything too fast. Mine was ready at about 22 minutes. I can't wait to try pineapple pie next!
