I dropped the guitar here as I was flying out of a nearby airport. I suggested they ship the guitar to my home once complete - they refused to do this because, "we do not have any extra boxes to put the guitar in." Then I asked if they would bring it to a very close UPS store and the answer was a flat "no." Then I the owner yelled at me and hung up the phone. He yelled at me saying, "Why did you bring your guitar here anyway?" As of present, I am not in possession of the guitar and I do not know how I am going to retrieve it.

We were going to be on vacation for 2 of the 4 lessons during our "trial" month which I mentioned when signing up. I was told don't worry- we have plenty of options for makeups. Another total lie. We were given 1 option on a Saturday at 4pm. Or another option 2 months later, again at 4pm on a Saturday. Not what I'd call plenty of options for a make up. Our only other choice was to "donate" the lessons we would miss. This place promises the moon to get you to sign up and is a complete scam. Very poor way to run a business. Zero flexibility. Zero respect for the customer. I'm so sorry I signed up here. There are so many better options in the area where I won't feel I am being scammed and cheated. **update- The general manager called me and apologized for the ordeal and I was grateful to be given a refund and not charged for the 2nd month. After the refund was posted and confirmed, I was contacted again and asked to take my review down. I refused. I think it's important for parents to see an honest experience. People have all different experiences that range from 1 to 5 stars. Its always suspicious when you see only 5 star reviews.

Today, my son is on scholarship as a classical piano major at Roosevelt University in the heart of Chicago. Very similar to Lincoln Center in NYC, his dorm room has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city and park. He is known at CSO, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and in his senior year is now preparing to audition for grad school with hopefully at least close to full ride. This was made possible by Vladimir who took him under his wing, saw his potential with lack of prior learning and brought him up. AMAZING man who gave my son the ability to achieve his dream.

She told me I got too big of a violin but we can always rent one (which I thought was fair). She also started to show me how to put it together. Well the gentlemen in the back, forget it. He got all upset, came to me and said I should just go home. Im wasting my time there. Really attempting to belittle me. I dont care if this guy won awards or is the almighty violin king. He is rude, impatient, and will definitely get an award of "biggest j*****s" by me. Go check out the other two music schools who were friendly, forthcoming, and professional.

Additionally, the owner tried to tell me that I may not be "getting the real deal" from other shops. As a professional musician - I can tell the difference between real and fake strings. Shops in the area servicing real Stradivarius instruments are not selling fake strings. Reputable online retailers who serve professional musicians are also not selling fake strings. Additionally, the owner mentioned they provide a service of "installing" the string for you. As an educator, I can tell you that your teacher will do this for you. As a professional musician, I have no idea why this service would be offered to me - it is not common practice nor should it be. If the shop itself is indeed purchasing strings from the makers at double or triple the cost they can be found locally or online, I would have to question their ability to do business. As much as I would love to support a local business and a local music business, this predatory practice is unacceptable.
