Anytime any member of my family has to go to Paranaque Doctors' Hospital - whether falling ill or having regular check-ups - we always end up having some meals at Eton's, which is right across Dona Soledad Avenue.
There are several reasons for this, not the least of which is that hospital food is generally bland and even the canteen at the ground floor of PDH serves pretty nondescript meals.
Eton's serves not just good food at good prices, it also has the best fruit shakes in the vicinity. And for a mere P50, their shakes are a bargain. Especially if you like brain freeze.
Eton's actually has a rather odd full name: it's Eton's Benny's Den Sizzling Restaurant. Why it doesn't call itself simply Eton's or Benny's Den, I'll never know. This is one of the few places that serves one of my all-time favorites, which is Chicken Ala King, which is probably too rich for someone my age, but what the hey. I don't eat it everyday.
Just like the other joints along this strip, hospital employees and families and friends of patients are the primary clientele. Their cars would very likely be at the free parking provided by PDH.
I believe this place is a one-branch-only restaurant, a family-owned business that's been around for a good number of years and which will very likely be around many years from now. The food is good enough that I occasionally eat there even when not going to PDH. read more
