Great gym. Of course there are more men than girls, but there are enough of us to train if that makes you more comfortable. The mats are new and clean, very spacious so you don't bump into each other; the people are friendly and of all ages. Morning and evening classes, open mats on Friday and Saturday, gi and no gi. Children and youth classes if u want to make it a family thing. Great teachers who are also great people. And also international athletes offer seminars for members. Very welcoming environment. Free trial available.

I've been to places where it seemed salesy or lacking authenticity. Teragi Academy is a place where they genuinely practice and instill jiu jitsu and its culture of honor and regard of others. The promotion of belts is carried out quarterly and only awarded based on merit. This is also something I greatly appreciate because I know many establishments that give out promotions for no reason at all. Since day one, the professors and coaches of this gym have been patient and meticulous in teaching techniques to the kids. Teragi has been instrumental in providing confidence as well as self awareness for my son. I've seen many of the other kids mature in their own ways for the past 2 years. It's always a wonder to see everyone come up together. For myself and my family, we seen so much growth and discipline in our boy. There's a comfort in knowing that our child is not left helpless and able to stand up himself as well as for others. I've been watching in the sidelines, two to three times a week, for the last 2 years. This is a program that provides a worthwhile experience. The benefit and journey is well worth the investment for anyone, young or old.

The staff for the summer program and after school program are fun and responsible and my kids always enjoy their time with them. Teragi is a little far for me so it's my home away from home and I try to do drop in classes whenever I have the chance. I always learn something new and helpful that I can take back to my home gym. The other guys in the class are always welcoming and friendly so I recommend anyone to drop in. It's also one of the nicest facilities I've seen with a large rolling area and a side area with tables and couches for kids to hangout and wait if I'm doing an adult class. Teragi is worth a visit!

I couldn't be happier with my son's experience at this jiu-jitsu gym. From the moment we walked in,…read moreit was clear that Professor Justin and all the coaches have created something truly special. What stands out most is the incredible culture they've built. Jiu-jitsu can feel intimidating for young kids who are new to the sport, but the coaches here have the perfect temperament. They know exactly how to talk to the children, make them feel comfortable and confident, and gently guide them through the learning process. At the same time, they're excellent at instilling real discipline, hard work, and the value of consistent practice--skills that my son is carrying over into school and everyday life. The results speak for themselves: the gym is always packed with kids who are excited to train, and the adult classes are just as busy. That level of enthusiasm from both children and grown-ups tells you everything you need to know about the quality of instruction and the positive environment. Professor Justin and his team don't just teach techniques--they empower kids. My son has grown so much in confidence, focus, and respect since starting here. If you're looking for a jiu-jitsu gym that truly understands how to train and develop young athletes while keeping the fun and supportive vibe alive, this is the place. We feel incredibly lucky to have found this gym. Five stars all the way--highly, highly recommended!

A huge part of that is thanks to Professor Justin, who does an amazing job creating a positive, respectful, and motivating atmosphere at Gracie Barra Fullerton. His leadership really sets the tone for the entire gym. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and do a great job breaking things down so everyone -- no matter their experience level -- can learn and grow in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. What makes this place even more special for us is that it's become a family activity. Not only do I train here, but so do my husband and our two daughters. Our girls have been training for about 10 months now, and the growth we've seen in them has been incredible. Their confidence has grown so much, and they've learned discipline, resilience, and how to believe in themselves. We're so grateful to be part of such a positive and empowering community. If you're looking for knowledgeable coaches, a great atmosphere, and a place where the whole family can train, this is it.

Within my first week here I already felt like family. Great environment, The coaches are amazing (Specifically Joe, Steve, and Miguel) I'm glad to have found a gym that I can call home. Couldn't recommend it enough! Would give 6 stars if possible

Bottom Line Up Front: I give this gym 5 out of 5 stars --…read moreand that says a lot because I've been training in martial arts since 1995 and am a certified instructor in multiple systems. But let me break it down as to why it gets my seal of approval. What You'll Learn: Rounders offers multiple martial arts: Boxing, Muay Thai (kickboxing), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kali (a Filipino knife-fighting system), and Mixed Martial Arts (which combines striking, wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu). In the past they have also offered wrestling and Judo. So there's something for everyone. Regardless of what class you pick, you'll learn how to protect yourself while getting a great workout. What You'll Gain: Like I mentioned, you'll get a killer workout in a safe and fun environment. According to some studies, you could burn anywhere between 300 to 800 calories in a single 1-hour kickboxing class. It's far more efficient (and fun!) than running on a treadmill. And the added bonus is that you'll learn self-defense along the way. Who You'll Meet: From co-owner Joe Kim to all the other instructors, the coaches here are physically talented, knowledgeable, and easy-going despite being deadly warriors. They create a positive atmosphere so that everyone -- from brand new rookies to combat sports veterans -- has fun while learning. And that trickles down through to the students, who are all supportive and welcoming. The Space: The gym is medium-ish in size compared to other gyms in the area; enough to hold one large group or two smaller sessions at the same time. The equipment is top notch. And the workout space is well maintained. There's also a small section for weight training, too. The Cost: I've visited other gyms with outrageous prices (like $200 a month for only Jiu-Jitsu!). Fortunately, tuition here is reasonably priced -- with options to drop-in, go month-to-month, or commit to 6 months or a full year. (The latter two doesn't mean you have to pay upfront, just that you'll be charged automatically for your chosen time frame and save more over the long term.) And considering those options give you unlimited classes for all of the martial arts classes, Rounders is totally worth it. Conclusion: Rounders MMA Fullerton is an ideal gym to join, whether you're looking to lose weight, learn some self-defense, or just belong to a cool community who will encourage and grow with you.

Previously to that, we took classes…read moreunder the guidance of Black Belt Jeff Nolasco in a different location before he started his own academy. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is something that everyone should try at least once in their lives. Whether you're young or old, it's something important to each person, in your own personal way. Some people do it for exercise, some people do it for the challenge, some people like puzzle solving, and others simply to have a routine. The fact that we learn something that can be applied to your own life is what gravitated me to this martial arts. Preparing your own self awareness, figuring out how to adapt to different situation, and just knowing that you control your own fate is what appealed to me. That is what Coach Jeff promotes, the dynamic approach to this martial arts, that no one answer will be absolute, and to ultimately be the best version of yourself. Currently my youngest son attends classes, and gives him the lessons of life to be more mature, and be responsible for others. Little kids can get nervous to getting hurt, it's new, it's physical. But after a few classes, he understand it's all a game for now, his teammates challenge him, but not try to hurt him. It's fun to do, and also rewarding for the mind and body. There are also other alternative classes under the monthly membership plans, such as Thai Kickboxing, Eskrima, Physical wellbeing classes for the older groups, and wrestling for all ages. I recommend this class if you are someone that wants something outside the box, challenging, fun, and want a coach/team that inspires you to do better. Not a McDojo, where you are forced to dress a certain way, or do some repetitive dance like move for protection. This is actual everyday application that you can use for self defense.

There is nobody harder working for his students than Lucas. But be warned: as nice and caring as Lucas is, he won't let you slack off. He won't let you cheat yourself. Which is why we love him. This gym is full of all types. We have competitors who have brought home world championship titles in Gi, no Gi, under all rule sets, and at all weight and belt levels. We also have those who, like me, don't focus on competing but are there more as "sport practitioners" who use it as a way to get in shape, learn something new, and push ourselves to be better. We have those there solely for weight loss and confidence building. We have those that take it for self defense, and others who train because it helps their mental health. The kids program is robust and extremely well run with daily classes, parents, come have your child get some confidence and burn off all their energy before bed. I pray I can train as long as physically able to under Lucas and beside my team mates here at Checkmat La Habra.
