I have lived downtown Birmingham, Alabama for five years. I found Etheridge Brothers Car Wash back then. Since, I have used them exclusively. They take pride in their work. They are always very professional. If you want to try them out, call them for an appointment first. It is best to drop off your car and let them call you when it is ready. Because of covid, they attempt to be safe, and the customer lounge is not always available. In a day and age that everything cost more, and you still get less. Years ago, many years ago, this car wash was good. Now, it's mediocre. The car wash is okay, used to be better, but the customer service is awful. The lack of professionalism is noticeable. I've been twice in the last couple of years and every time the woman inside is on her cellphone. It seems her conversation is more important than the customers. She talks to you while still talking on her cellphone. I remember when it was one cost for cars and a slightly higher cost for trucks. If you drove by and asked how much is a wash, they would tell you. Now, you have to go inside, let her look at your car and decide how much she wants to charge based on car size, type of wheel and any other add-ons she deems fit. It would be great if they had a clear and visible signage for entering. If you enter off of 3rd Avenue, there are some areas of the road and their lot that dips causing damage to your vehicle. They need signs showing the proper location for entering. I believe this car wash could be great again if they implement a few changes. read more

These guys know how it's done. I bought a used car from a friend who has kids. It was an absolute mess - as you can imagine from having two car seats installed in the back. I have four kids, and when they were that age - goodness gracious! You just can't know how nasty a car can get unless you have young kids. I dropped my car off in the morning on my way into work, and by 3:00 that afternoon I went to pick it up. It was SPARKLING CLEAN inside and out. These guys went above and beyond and literally made the car look as good as if I'd rolled it off of a new car lot instead of buying it from a young parent. I would recommend this car wash to anybody! I love coming here to get my car cleaned! For $30 you can get your car (sedan) fully serviced inside and out by hands! No extra fees for add ons, etc... $30 literally gets you the full package, but Wednesdays are ladies day so $25 for all women. I called 6 times in 2 weeks and was only able to get through to the last time I called (I called on Wednesday and Thursday's during their hours of operations) when I finally did get through to them I made an 11am appointment the following day. Arrived at 10:45am the day of to be left standing out in the rain knocking on their door. No one was here and no one would answer my calls. They completely forgot about my appointment. read more

Etheridge Car Wash is a family owned business that provides exceptional service at a great price. They hand wash which matters to me as I have had damage to my car going through an express car wash. So I love a hand car wash. I kept hearing mixed reviews about this car wash. So I decided to try it out for myself. First off, if your not familiar with the location. You will pass it and have to drive around. There isn't a sign that says enter car wash here. I had to call to confirm that I had to drive thru the alley.... They need better signage. They told me where to park. I requested the inside and out of my car cleaned. Since this was my first time I decided to wait outside. There is an option to sit in the inside if you want. Thank god I did... I seen people show up after me and there car was started and finished before mines???? Finally after saying something they started my darn car. I was there for 1 hour and 16 minutes, yes I timed them. I finally told them not to even worry about my inside I'll handle it myself. Yes, they apologized but still. I have used them once before and had great quality service, this time it wasn't so pleasant. I arrived at 10:30AM -and was told by April that she could "work me in" I decided to leave my car since I had a kid with me. I left at 11:30AM, I called at 12:21PM to check to see if my car was ready, a woman answered, I assume it was April since she was the only lady there at the time, advised me that "it would be another 20 mins". I arrived at 1PM for my car to look the exact same way. I was charged $25 for the outside only, no apology for my inconvenience or lying about ETA, but I was still charged $25 for outside ONLY. Do not use this car wash if you care about the protection and quality care of your vehicle. They have no discipline and wash cars very recklessly, my car was waxed and they did not tape off the edges, resulting in discoloration of my trim and stained cloth convertible top. I brought my car back to have them clean the cloth, and they cleaned the whole car again putting a 17 inch scratch in the hood which went through the base coat of paint - this required the hood to be repainted. The man washing my car admitted that the scratch was not there before he started washing it, but after they found out it could not be buffed out and had to be repainted, they began telling lies that all damage existed already and management pressured their employee to say the same, even though he told me differently. It appears this car wash has NO INSURANCE since they had no information to disclose to me or my insurance company. This place is very unprofessional and should not be in operation, do not take your vehicle here because they will not take responsibility for its well being and they are incapable of washing a car without damaging it. Etheridge Car Wash has been reported to the Better Business Bureau for their unethical practices and still have not cooperated, they will be reported to the Federal Trade Commission next. read more

After traveling from NC, my car needed a bath desperately and so did my fiancé's ram 3500 dually. On Saturday I took the truck to get washed, nervous at first of the small corner lot and afraid my truck wouldn't fit. As soon as I got out I was welcomed with smiling faces and laughter. About an hour later my white beast of a truck was STUNNING. Inside and out. Looked like it was just pulled off the lot. The leather interior was spotless and every crook and cranny clean of dirt and dust. So today I took my car. All black Dodge Avenger, that hadn't seen a vacuum in the interior in almost a year. Which is bad, especially since my job includes horses, dirt and wood shavings and also a 3 year old little boy. They take my car and start cleaning it, and an hour or so later it's done. I looked at the floor mats that once held gravel and dirt and didn't see a speck of either. My dash was sparkling, by a sign of dust on it like it has been before. The women inside were so nice. They let me know about their points you gain towards a free wash and what not for their regulars. Sadly I am unable to do that but told them I would definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again. Of course it started raining after my car was washed and they told me to come back Tuesday or Wednesday for a complimentary wash due to the rain. Sadly I had to decline but it made me so happy that they offered that. All the guys were extremely nice. Even gave me and my son and umbrella to use to get to my car! Good Holiday weekend to all ! I just have to report. I got my wash job last Monday. Drove to Atlanta, Charlotte, Louisville, Indianapolis, Red Wing, MN then Minneapolis, Toledo and I'm in Akron, OH now and the truck has been through at least 5 major downpours. On the windshield you can see the road grime where the wipers don't get. But the paint job is still clean. I'm blown away !!! When I'm in Birmingham again I'll be hitting this spot. read more

The guys at the car wash treated my car with care and respect. They took their time to clean inside and outside of the car, now, granted it took about 45 minutes for my car to be fully cleaned, it was totally worth it!!! This is the best place in town to get your car hand washed. I have a relatively new car and I refuse to run it through a regular carwash. At Etheridge Brothers, everything is done by hand. They also have great attention to detail. I recommend getting there early in the day because they run first come first served. Because it can take up to an hour to get the car washed, if there are people in front of you, you might want to leave it there and return later. Wednesday is ladies day and they take $5 off. I have been looking for a place where I can get my car washed inside and out in Birmingham and I've finally found it! I had a ton of wet sand all over the floorboards of my new car and now it looks great. Plus it was much more affordable than I had estimated. Great experience at Etheridge! I came with a car covered in dog hair and they were able to vacuum all of it up and make my car look brand new inside and out. The staff are very professional and courteous. The manager worked especially hard to make sure customers were seated six feet apart and in the shade on what was a very hot day.
