We found barstools online at Ethan Allen, but we wanted to see them in person before spending $2000. Citrus Park was the closest location. We went to the receptionist and told her the name of the design we wanted to see. Christine was called to help us and she showed us the display they had in the store. Trying to be kind, I can't say what I thought of her. She is a designer and is supposed to help us design furniture that will suit us and our home. It was going to be okay because I knew what I wanted and had made choices online already. I didn't know the different fabric prices, though. She pulled out a neutral indoor/outdoor, washable fabric that was very plain but very durable. It was about $250 more per chair. I never asked for anything outdoor or washable. Maybe because I had kids she assumed I wanted the canvas looking, kid proof ugly fabric for a higher price. I wanted something comfortable and wasn't worried about spills. I took over and looked at the samples myself. She disappeared for a while and it was better. After she returned, I showed her the samples I chose and she went to prepare the estimate. It was higher than the online price. This is a franchise, she pointed out. They charge $30 more for delivery and instead of $149 for the stain resistance for the entire order, they were charging $240 ($80 each stool). There was also a sale online that offered 22% off orders over $2000. She would only offer 17%. When we pointed out the differences in the prices, she said that the online site would charge us more once they got our credit card. We got out of that place. It really didn't seem right. Even the other sales people weren't really nice. Another one "borrowed" one of the fabric samples while we were looking at it. Christine looks like a crazy person and wears A LOT of perfume. I wouldn't want design advise from her based on her own choices for herself. She wasn't helpful and the whole experience was sickening. read more
