So its my fiance's birthday and for his dirty 30,, he wanted to get ink done. Together with the his bestie and me of course. So this was his birthday thing and he picked this spot because of some recommendations from his friends. So we walked in and we were met by one of the artists. They had their questions about getting it done since both were tattoo virgins. The artist answered all their questions. My friend esa wanted something small,, about an inch small. A heart on her hand. The artist didn't take very long with her. Plus she said it didn't hurt that bad. Since she was that person with the lowest pain tolerance on earth. Patrick wanted "blessed" in fancy lettering on the inside of his arm. The artist knocked it out. His was suppose to be very painful, but he said it didn't get very painful at all. But then I think he just had a very high pain tolerance. Mine was painful from beginning to end, but it does look really cool. Worth all the pain I guess. But I still have to fill in the places that I've gone to. Anyways, our whole tattoo experience here was very pleasant. Plus our artist was very friendly and super approachable. AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I looked around 5 other tattoo places before here, all having expensive prices and unfriendly service until this place. Right as I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the artists were so incredibly friendly. I just got done with my tattoo today and Tony is the best guy to get tattoos from because he loves his work so much. I've been waiting a year to get this turtle tattoo and was in tears by the end because of how much it touched my heart. Truly an artists who takes pride in his art and it shows! Although, the pain was there, Tony did not rush the process and let me have a break to recover. All in all, go here for a tattoo and to Tony for an amazing job. I watched myself as the process of opening new needles and changing gloves every time he took a break and started again. My friends and I came in to get piercings and check out Eternal's vast selection of jewelry. I was nervous about having my rook done but Fish and Samantha made me feel very comfortable and educated throughout the whole process of selecting jewelry (I was thrilled that they had a barbell with a flower!), choosing the exact placement, and discussing the healing process. Originally Marshall was supposed to do 2 tarts. He ghosted me after our meet up. I found another guy, Matt black on IG based on his pics. Went in w a PICTURE of how I wanted my wings to turn out. He said he could do it. The day of tattooing I showed him again what I wanted my previous wings to be like. A previous tat I didn't want covered up but detailed. He said $150. Once done he added a wing and that's it. When, I said it's nothing like we talked about he laughed and said I'd cost double. Adam Seymour is nothing short of amazing; a gifted artist, perfectionist, and consummate professional. He recently tattooed the iconic GN'R "Appetite for Destruction" cross on my forearm (see attached images). Adam listened and collaborated with me throughout the process, with the end result being a near perfect tattoo. Adam's meticulous attention to detail was very much appreciated. For example, Adam put the stencil on three different times to ensure the placement was perfect. I have been getting tattoos my entire life, and I can also say that Adam has one of the lightest touches of any artist, which resulted in a virtually pain free session and an expedited healing process. Moreover, Adam is a pioneer in tattoo aftercare, utilizing Tegaderm instead of the more traditional methods. While initially skeptical, Adam took the time to explain the process and science beyond Tegaderm to me. I am now a true believer, as this aftercare method easily reduced the typical 2-week healing process by 4-5 days, with very little scabbing or drying once the bandage came off. Applying Hustle Butter twice a day then provided the finishing touches to the healing process. If you're interested in getting a tattoo, I give Adam my complete and full endorsement. All he did was reprimand me about why my ear wasn't healing properly instead of giving me helpful hints to actually fix the problem. Let me start off by saying this is only a review of the service I was given while here in the piercing department, and nothing to do with tattoos since the artists seem to be highly rated. I had been wanting to get my nipples pierced for a while, and the original place I had selected was booked up with appointments. I knew this place took walk-ins and they were highly recommended by a friend of mine. The piercer and the girl working the front desk (I assume to be an apprentice) took me into the room and had me lift my shirt. First of all, it bothered me that the piercer didn't bother to ask if I was okay with the apprentice coming with him. I didn't care overall, but I felt this was a little unsettling for someone that might not be as comfortable. Anyways, I lifted my shirt and the piercer simply took a quick look at them and said "no, I won't do it. They will definitely reject in 4-5 months." I gave him a puzzled look, and he said that my nipples didn't stick out enough in order for him to do that. It was super hot in there and he didn't swab me with alcohol or even touch me, so obviously they weren't going to be coming to attention. He had no right to say what my body would do. I was bothered, but I asked about another piercing I had been wanting (my industrial). He did the same thing...took a quick look then said nope he wouldn't do it. At this point he just seemed very dismissive since there's certainly nothing odd about my ears. He said I could get an inner ear piercing like a rook or conch, which I considered. However, the jewelry I liked plus the piercing was going to run me $140 which I thought was an absurd price. Overall I just felt very "blown off" and felt he just didn't want to do anything for me for whatever reason. Maybe I caught him in a bad mood or something but I thought this was very poor service. I was told by multiple people that I should seek a second opinion, so I did. I now have my nipples pierced and they're healing wonderfully. I did end up buying some plugs from this place anyways because they were very pretty, but even those don't fit entirely right so I'm doubting the overall professionalism of the piercer. Just be leery if you're wanting piercing service at this studio. read more

I've been going here for 3 years piecing together a cohesive sleeve. Rob Sebastian is my artist and I recommend him to everyone I meet! I currently have a cuff on my right arm (entire lower half, from wrist to elbow, is finished) and part of the upper half of my arm has been started. I have been stopped on the street multiple times by strangers asking where I get my work done. I can't go in public in a t-shirt without being complimented at least once! I have a lot of realistic flowers in my piece and people generally ask me if I've just gotten them done. The one that's most often asked about is over three years old! When I decided to get my first tattoo, I wanted to make sure I had the best experience possible. I searched for artists and tattoo parlours online to find the best fit for me and my design. I came across the work of Tom Renshaw and stopped in my tracks. I knew from the very first photo in his portfolio that he was "the one." It was a bit difficult trying to contact him. Since he does not have an email address, I tried calling the shop. It took a few (admittedly nervous) days to get a response, and I snail-mailed my reference photos upon his request. I was very pleased when I received an immediate call once the photos had been received. Mr. Renshaw was very good about talking me through the design, letting me know what would be possible or not, and also taking into consideration where I wanted the tattoo (my forearm) and if it really was the right place for me, considering it was my first. Fast forward to the day of reckoning. The shop itself is somewhat hard to find. I was coming from the west side of the state and, even with GPS, I found myself circling back trying to get to the shop. For a tattoo parlour, it's fairly big, with two receiving counters, a few private rooms, and a few offices. The decor is hip, but clean, and it carries with it an added sense of professionalism often lacking in street corner tattoo parlours. However, once we entered, there was no one to greet us or tell us where we could wait for the appointment. We ended up standing/wandering around until, finally, a piercing artist came out of his office. We waited for the artist for about 1 hour, and I distracted myself by greedily looking into the amazing display case of jewelry. The piercer proudly showed me several handmade gauges he'd picked up from Africa. I made a mental note to return if ever I needed my ears gauged. By the time the artist arrived, I was a bit agitated from my long wait and anxious to get started. However, once we got underway, I knew that I was in good hands. Mr. Renshaw explained throughout the process what he was doing, as well as bonding with my father about politics, tattoos, and Dennis Rodman. The tattoo was pricey ($300/hour) but well worth it. Mr. Renshaw perfectly executed the heart of my original inspiration in a way I never would have suggested. He is truly an artist, and I would happily revisit Eternal! I have to say, maybe 3.5 stars is a better rating for the actual shop, but the end result more than made up for the shortcomings. Totally recommended! read more

Terrible experience! I went to make an appt and was scheduled for two weeks later. I made a deposit and was told by Ben that I could have a refund if I call and cancel or change my appt at least 24 hours before. I verified this again because I have a crazy work schedule and was planning on going out of town. I ended up going somewhere else because they could fit me in earlier and when I called Ben to cancel ( a week before my scheduled appt) he told me that I could not have a refund; canceling was considered a "no call, no show". This is not what he told me a week ago and now I'm out double what my tattoo would have cost me. Extremely dissatisfied with the whole operation and how they treated me. Seems like they can pick and choose who they screw over. read more

So Eternal is a great name for tattoos. I have one done by a great artist at the Eastpointe Location. I felt like giving the Clawson one a try today. I called last week to make an appointment to discuss it at 2:00 today. I got there a few minutes early, no one knew anything about it. I talked to Jason. What a douche! I think this guy went in to tattooing to impress a girl or something because in my opinion... as a potential client ...he doesn't get it! First I explained what I wanted roughly. I had a little sketch. I'm not asking for something lame like tweety bird. This guy proceeded to tell me why it was a bad tattoo, had no form and that it would look unfinished. Is the idea of an outline so old that his shading ass couldn't handle it? Has he ever heard of anti-form? Anyway, slight rant...this guy was rude and told me that it was a bad idea. I left. As a client I was prepared to pay him WHATEVER he asked for within reason for outlines of these diamonds. It's not like people are going to come up to me and say "hey wow Amy that tattoo is so KILLER, WHO DID IT??" They were outlined diamonds. No big deal. About me: I'm a BFA student at Wayne. I drew something simple I loved and wanted on me and since I can't tattoo myself, I chose to try a reputable shop to do it for me. My mistake, apparently--- He is no Heggie- Now there is a tattoo artist who is an ARTIST I would let have creative freedom. Not this random guy. He may be a good tattoo artist but I wanted something simple and he didn't want to do it, which I thought was crazy. I've gotten three piercings now from Fish (left nostril, conch, and helix) and have had nothing but great experiences. When I got my nostril in 2015 he was super patient with me as I could not decide if I wanted a double or not. He was very clear on aftercare and it healed without any issues. I came in earlier this year and wanted a bellybutton piercing and Fish told me I did not have the right anatomy and that it would not heal correctly. Though it was a bit of a bummer I am super grateful to have a piercer that looks out for my best interest rather than poking at hole in me that won't heal and taking my money. I got my conch and helix done together the other day. Fish helped me pick out some jewelry and, though he is adamant that his opinion does not matter, he told me the pros and cons of the types of jewelry I was picking (saying what would be easiest for healing) and again was very patient with me. He's really quick at piercing, and does a great job. If I decide to get any more piercings done in the future I will definitely be coming back. read more
