The workers here are amazing from the front office folks to the groundskeepers. They all take pride in working for the cemetery and keeping it running very well. We recently held a funeral in the chapel, and although it is a bit of a do it yourself experience it worked out really well. There is seating for about 100 people and HDMI hook ups to use a large screen TV for a photo show if that is what someone wants. It's also a beautiful cemetery up on a hill with a nice view.

Rest In Peace The…read morename is confusing but the Golden Gate National Cemetery is located in San Bruno, not in San Francisco, and not to be confused with the San Francisco National Cemetery on the Presidio. Authorized by Congress as a result of being voted by the residents of San Francisco to stop the opening of new cemeteries within their city... the GG National Cemetery was constructed. When I used to live in the Bay Area and my home church was in San Bruno we used to pass by the cemetery on Sundays. Last Monday we stopped on Memorial Day and drove inside. This was my first time inside the cemetery. It is huge! Respect and honor to all heroes. Large flags were displayed for Memorial Day. They were raised around the base of the hill in the center of the cemetery. Hundreds of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and others planted flags in front of cemetery graves. It was a beautiful sight to see the sea of flags honoring our fallen heroes. Somber reminder of how many gave so much for our freedoms. Notable famous grave is that of FADM Chester Nimitz (Battle of Midway). Also buried here, a sad part of San Francisco history, was the assassin of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Councilman Harvey Milk, Dan White. He was a sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. Review #2596

What truly set her apart was when we needed to relocate our loved one's remains to another city. This is not a simple process, and Olga became our true advocate every step of the way. She navigated the logistics, coordinated across multiple parties, and made sure nothing fell through the cracks. Whenever there was a hurdle, she handled it. We never felt like a transaction. Olga treated our family with dignity and compassion throughout, and her dedication made an already painful experience far more bearable. McAvoy O'Hara is incredibly fortunate to have her, and our family is grateful we found them!

We met with Gus to plan and he was absolutely helpful, sympathetic, and very communicative throughout the whole planning. Come day of, Rick and Kina were absolutely wonderful. Come to the crematory, we could've have asked for more. The person running it, I think his name is Ron, was very respectful, empathetic and truly kind. Our whole experience with Sneider Sullivan & O'Connell was truly wonderful. They didn't treat us like customers. They treated us like a family and we are so grateful for that.

When we made the…read morearrangements, we were told that the area would be maintained just like the other sections of the cemetery. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. The condition of the area where my brother is buried has been disappointing and, in our experience, does not receive the same level of care and maintenance if any as other areas of the cemetery. As a family, it's heartbreaking to visit the final resting place of someone we love and feel that his grave is being neglected. Choosing a less expensive burial location should not mean that a loved one receives less dignity, care or respect after they are laid to rest. Every family deserves to feel that their loved one's resting place is cared for, regardless of what they could afford. I am extremely disappointed with the staff here. I worked with Nena Ortiz and at first it felt like I had found a friend through this difficult time in my family lives but it has turned out that she was just after the commission. I have tried to get in contact with Nena with what seems like a hundred times to get the situation fixed and I either get yeah I will talk to someone and get it fixed or I get she's not available. So once they take your money you can forget about them treating you and your loved one with respect. I regret burying my loved one here

Potential tax fraud! Extremely terrible service. Don't go here if you love your passed away…read morefamily. We came here for my grandma who passed from covid19 Dec 2021 since we were recommended as this was a sudden death cost and this place was said to be CHEAP. Apparently, you get what you paid for. Initially, everything was promised and a pretty picture was painted to getting the tombstone done etc. Fast forward, months later (nearly half a year) POST-burial..we check, and no photo or inscriptions written on the tombstone. We are already going through so much torment during this period. Yet we had to constantly call them asking many times to follow up, and they had the audacity to yell at us, & ignore our calls. Half-done job (months later), and then tell us they don't want to do it anymore and give us some money back. Really? We told them that we need receipts to claim for covid19 burial services, yet its almost been half a year, and they are still ignoring us and so I cant proceed with the claims. Still waiting now, and still getting hung up on the calls by Cynthia Yang (director). Very shady & unprofessional service. Don't come here. They might have some tax fraud going on, so they won't give us proper receipts. Now we are worried about retaliation, yet I believe this is something righteous to do and everyone should be able to see the truth to make a well informed decisions for their loved ones. If I could turn back time, I rather pay double the cost and not come to this place. If I could give this place negative stars, it is what represent their business. (1st time I feel this way about a business which really says a lot)....
