My foot surgery went very well Dr.Etcheverry gave me excellent care he repaired three broken bones in my ankle and I can now walk

Overall Dr seemed to have a diagnosis before even examining my foot. They also insisted to get "their own X Rays" rather than get the ones the podiatrist had already taken. A 10 minute visit is billed over $800 (maybe because they are tied to UCLA they get away with much higher billing and reimbursement rates). I constantly complained I felt the issue in my foot potentially from previous injury, and a car accident. He was fixated on it being plantar fasciitis... after getting a MRI $2600 plus, all he focused on we looking at the image & he said it confirmed this diagnosis, & treatment options. I asked about my large toe joint & he said it wasn't included in the MRI & if I needed it examined, I needed to make another appointment to be worked up for that as a separate issue!? Talk about money hungry!? Just bill for an intermediate or advanced exam, since I am already here!? I asked for a copy of the MRI, when I read it, it showed a fractured bone which he didn't even address!!! I sent it to my primary care who said I should have been placed in a "boot" but mind you it is now 2 months later. At no time was my MRI scan reviewed much less in its completeness! I feel this is malpractice and my ankle may now never be the same! I would not recommend this doctor read more

I tripped and felt a pop in my foot and was in terrible pain. I called and got a appointment with Dr Etcheverry this morning. The office was prompt and efficient. They took xrays of my foot and then the doctor came in. He examined me and made me stand on my toes and stand on one foot to test my foot. He then set me up for a MRI for this weekend. I found him to be concerned and caring and he had a excellent bedside manner. Dr. Etcheverry is our new foot doctor from now on. read more

I brought my 7 year old in with an ingrown toenail. The doctor sat with us for 5 minutes and told me to wrap her toe in vics vapor rub everynight and to soak the toe in warm water for 10 minutes a day. The toe got better. My complaint is that we were billed over $800 after our insurance paid for $80.00. We called UCLA multiple times to tell them this has to be a mistake. They just wouldn't help us and kept sending us the bill for months. My husband kept calling the doctors office to talk to someone there and never got any help at all. So we ended up paying the bill because we aren't degenerates and don't want penalties to our credit report or anything else negative to happen. I am extremely upset about this. This was highway robbery. I have had two ingrown toenails surgically taken care of and both out of pocket was less than $400 total. How does one 5 minute office visit cost nearly $1000 dollars? Not ok and until I have received an apology from Dr. Etcheverry's office I will continue to tell everyone I meet that they should avoid that practice. read more

I went to have both big toe nails removed as they were both ingrown. Was blown away by the doctors amazing bed side manners and how he took the time to explain my procedure to me in a way anyone could understand. No more pain would recommend to anyone looking for a good podiatrist. Will call and schedule with him for all my future foot and ankle related needs. read more

Tried to make an appointment the clerk was "I need this I need that I need your old x-rays" so I have a bad ankle and need help. As it turns out an ankle replacement. The clerk was rude and apparently Dr. Echeverri doesn't need the work. Therefore, I had to go to Los Angeles for an ankle replacement. Dr. Echeverri you need to know that your staff needs training. They also need some personality training. Why do people from Bakersfield go elsewhere? It's because of the clerks who think they are all that and a bag chips and don't have to provide any kind of services to people. read more

Weeks before another school year started for this teacher, I was still suffering BAD from summer brain and did a stupid thing like jumping off a table barefoot! I slammed down on my heel and rushed to urgent care for X-rays but no breaks were shown. Still in excruciating pain, I sought the advice and expertise of Dr. Etcheverry. He was blantantly honest about the severity of my bone bruise, but sympathetic and caring towards the fact school was starting soon and I needed to be better like yesterday! He didn't beat around the bush, like send me for more X-rays, tests, etc. He said time and rest, offered a walking boot and pain meds if I must move around. He was right!! 1-2 months and I was back to normal! He knows his stuff!! Thanks doc!! read more

Dr. Etchevery took my pain away! He is a great listener, calm, confident, has the best bedside manner both in the office and post op when he actually calls and checks in with you that same day. Dr E has my full confidence as a physician. I will send all my friends and family to him and if I move away I will travel to him to receive care. I had my sixth and hopefully final foot surgery w him. I have suffered from chronic pain CRPS and foot problem for 20 years. I had 5 previous surgical interventions on soft tissue issues, ( arthroscopic, brostrums, allograft) but the bones had never been addressed. The first time I met Dr E I was pregnant and we made a plan to meet after I delivered. He coordinated me getting my CRPS under control so I could safely undergo my mid foot fusion ( talonavicular arthrodeisis). Office and surgery center are big but efficient. Don't be intimidated the waiting room is shared by many physicians- I have always been seen by the Dr in less than 20 minutes. At one week post op my foot felt better than it had in 20 years!!! That's amazing! And I owe it all to the skilled hands of Dr E. He explained how he expertly performed my procedure and the individual aspects that made my case unique. I appreciate his post op pain management and mobility plan and execution. His office manager Anna is great too. She always calls you back same day with the "answer". Also the cast room Bambi is amazing! I'm no novice when it comes to post op casting and she is GOLD. This team is so great I thank God for them. read more
