Maybe because your documents are always of importance, otherwise why would you need to print them? I'm one of those folk who don't seem to plan for such eventualities; and normally only replace things when I need to. This changed a bit when I recently stumbled upon Computer Food in Rosedale. This computer shop sells all kinds of goodies you need to keep the computer running, from printer paper to ink refills, memory sticks and DVDs. The idea at this store is that the more you buy, the more you save; a principle I can live with. The shop is conveniently located where Tawa meets Rosedale Road, there is plenty of parking on site and you can negotiate a good price.

After my first purchase, I returned perhaps two years later to buy an Apple product. My thinking was "surely the issue of good service has been improved upon.." No. It hadn't. Unbelievable. Long story short, I spoke to the manager of the computers/electronics section. He was apologetic about the poor service & appreciated the feedback. I will not return to this location again. There are a range of options, so I have made the decision to take my money elsewhere.

Because of their intransigent attitude, I had to go to the Disputes Tribunal to up hold my rights. . I won the case and they were ordered to refund me the full cost of my iPhone.

In this case I'm not sure if its a good thing that I've never experienced buyer's remorse after making a purchase here, as it explains why I keep coming back. There's something at JB Hi-Fi for everyone from games to computer programs to movies, and all at great retail prices too. Now and then they also have one-off sales where everything in-store is cost price + GST- so always good to keep your ears pinned for that one. It's not the biggest JB Hi-Fi branch but I know my way around. The staff here are quite reliable and the last time I went looking for an HDMI cable, the guy there told me about every single one they had, including the advantages and disadvantages. You don't get a lot of great service in retail these days so I take what I can get, and I was very impressed. Even the security at the store here always make a note to say hello and goodbye to all the customers- a little recognition goes a long way.

I can't remember his name, but flip, he is the best! They are always super helpful and have a great selection of DVDs. If I'm on the hunt for something in particular, they are the most likely store to stock it. (bar one time I was looking for Shutter Island - found it on Queen St) The only department in this store that I dislike is the electronics section. One guy tried to sell me an SD TV as an HD one. Fortunately, I was not the stupid woman he supposed, but a film maker who knows the difference. I smiled at him politely, and walked off. I hope he was just ignorant and not really a con man.
