In the midst of a major snow storm, I needed to transport my elderly parents from their home to a hotel with a generator, where they'd be safe and warm in the event of a power outage. Nobody enjoys leaving their home under such circumstances, and I suspect that such actions become even more difficult as we age. I'm thrilled to report that Ed was a godsend. He arrived at their home, collected their bags, and returned to their doorstep to escort each of them through the snow to his awaiting vehicle. He treated them with kindness, respect and consideration, making a concerted effort to put them at ease. I had been hoping to identify someone good in the area to assist my parents periodically, so it looks like my search is over. Although senior transport is not Ed's specialty, I will keep my fingers crossed on his availability, and he'll be the first call from now on.

My Dad was scheduled for a pretty significant medical procedure and had no method of transportation to get him to and from the hospital. I live on the other side of the US, so I couldn't provide much help, other than to coordinate service. My Mom found SJL and, though we had no previous familiarity with them, decided to go with them for our needs. Ashley, who coordinated our SJL reservation was so helpful. She was easy to talk to, and was accommodating to our requests, which fluctuated because of the hospital's scheduling process. We initially coordinated a 9 am pickup and later - the night prior to the reservation - had to reschedule to a pickup around 4 am, and SJL had no problem adjusting. The entire service was perfect. Ashley took great notes of everything that I explained to her about our situation, and the notification emails provided by the service reflected all the details that I had shared with Ashley - confirming that communication was flowing from me to Ashley and, ultimately, to the driver. The SJL web portal worked well. The driver, John, was on time and my Dad appreciated John's friendliness and good company. I can't thank SJL enough and hope that my strongest recommendation here expresses some of my gratitude. My Dad's hospital procedure wasn't comfortable for him, my Mom, or me. The dispatcher called me back immediately after I left a message with the company, and was friendly and helpful in coordinating travel details for an airport pickup for my parents, who are... not technology friendly. Dispatcher called me back the afternoon of my parent's scheduled arrival with specific info on their driver - name, phone #, etc - in addition to trying to text it to them. (Nice try, my parents don't understand texting.) Their driver called moments after they stepped off the plane, and he was available curbside to them as soon as they'd collected their luggage. I'd warned them that there was quite a bit of luggage, so the driver had even brought an assistant to help him load up. Mom reported that the SUV they sent was clean and well cared for, and still had plenty of room for her, my dad, and their 8 suitcases. Driver was friendly and attentive. Mom could not have been more pleased. She even asked for his card! (Mom NEVER does this, because she finds fault with EVERYTHING.) I think it's safe to say we've found our new transportation service! He gave me specific and easy to follow instructions on how to book my ride either through call or text. As soon as I booked it, I was immediately given contact info of my driver to double check every details with him. Our driver, Mongi, was punctual and very professional.
