It was recommended yesterday by other travelers to experience the Alhambra sights at sunset. Since we had 10, I made a reservation at 8pm on their website and got a response within a few hours. The restaurant sits halfway up the hill and we got a small window to look out to the Alhambra. We started with appetizers: tempura aubergines, jámon, tomato bread, and gazpacho. The gazpacho was presented first with a bowl of accoutrements of goat cheese, croutons, and confit of tomato before they poured on the cold tomato soup. This was the best of the apps. For the main course, I had the confit of suckling pig served with mashed potatoes (dry) and spiced caramelized pears. The pork was crispy and went well with the pears. My wife got the seafood stuffed squid, but was a bit salty, still had some sand, and was a bit sour (from lemon). The kids shared a seafood linguine, which they enjoyed. Others got a filet of beef and duck breast but I did a get to try :(. We didn't get dessert as it was late for the kids, but they provided us with a digestive - dark rum for the adults and a fruity/tangy syrup for the kids. Since service was a bit slow, we were able to see the sun set on the Alhambra. Our waiter was quite attentive and always came and left with a smile. We sat on the second floor, which was indoors, but I guess you can request to sit on the rooftop for a better view.

4.5 stars This was one of the best meals we had on our trip to Spain. Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. ATMOSPHERE: This restaurant is situated in probably the best location in Granada. Being at the top of San Nicolas viewpoint naturally gives this restaurant some spectacular views. If you're lucky to get a spot on the terrace on the third floor, you will see not only amazing views of the Alhambra, but the entire city and surrounding area of Granada. But, there are only a few tables on the third floor terrace, so you either need to get to the restaurant as soon as it opens (8pm) or make reservations. We were lucky to make last minute reservations the day of and got a table on the terrace. Midway through our meal, a guitar player even came out to play some music, which added a really nice ambiance. FOOD: Everyone's dinner was excellent. My oxtail was cooked to perfection. It was so tender and tasted great with the potatoes. My husband's cod was also cooked perfectly and had a really tasty sauce. Even the bread was awesome. I couldn't stop eating it. We ordered the chocolate crepes and profiterole for dessert The crepes were pretty good, but the profiteroles could have been a bit crispier. Overall, I think our dinner was better than dessert. SERVICE: The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. They speak pretty good English too, so if you have any questions about the menu, they are more than happy to explain it to you. They even offered to call a cab for us at the end of our meal. Las Estrellas was a bit pricey, but absolutely worth every penny... or I guess I should say euro.

Hands-down...hand-the-fuck-down...the best resto in Grenada. Great service, uber-redic views of the mountains and La Alhambra castle (peep my pics) and the best OX TAIL meal, ever. After a 4 mile tour in La Alhambra palace/castle/gardens, you're gonna need a dope meal. Come here. Come. Here.

The view!

This was my favorite restaurant in Granada. It's on the pricey side but it's so worth it for the excellent views of the Alhambra and Granada. I highly recommend if you're in the area. Definitely come around sunset and ask for a table overlooking the city. One of my coworkers recommended this restaurant and we called for a reservation only about 3 days prior - I wasn't optimistic about getting a table but we got managed to get a reservation right at 8pm (we were here in the spring). A VERY IMPORTANT TIP: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HIKE UP TO THE RESTAURANT! There are lots of windy, narrow roads, and buses and cars barely squeeze through--if you're walking, you'll probably get lost, even if you have a map. We took a bus up, which was a really interesting experience. The driver is an expert at navigating the road and it really showed - we got SO close to certain buildings at such a high speed going up winding roads that I literally saw walls of buildings right up to my face. We asked him to let us know when we were near the restaurant and he was really friendly and gave us a shout when we were approaching the stop. Beware though, if you come near sunset, the buses will completely fill with tour groups (who will probably get off before you do, so they can stake a spot elsewhere to watch the sunset). I think the driver really hated tour groups because he looked really annoyed with the tourists that got on as a huge group but was still friendly to us (just three gals, dressed up for dinner). Remember how I thought I made a reservation for 8pm? Well, my Spanish sucks, so there was some confusion when we arrived - I couldn't find my name on the reservation list, but there was an "A Pim" for a table of 3 at 8pm! I guess I kept repeating 8pm even when he was asking my name, so he thought I was "A Pim!" It was hilarious! But alright, you had to be there to find it funny. They laughed it off and seated us on a balcony area overlooking the city, even though I had forgotten to ask for it. Their service was absolutely wonderful. As for the food: I got the french onion soup, which was just okay, with the codfish, which was completely delicious. For dessert, I had the chocolate crepes, which were good but not especially memorable. We managed to stay for 3 hours with that amazing view, eating and drinking, and we never felt rushed. The views are very breathtaking and if you look down you can see lots of other restaurants and areas where people are gathered to watch the sunset as well. Someone was playing the guitar below and it added to the amazing ambiance. There were lots of couples on the balcony with us; we were probably the only trio of friends so it's a perfect place for a romantic dinner--we certainly thought ours was romantic! ;)

Gorgeous view, beautiful food (cod as entree), perfect evening!

Restaurante Eatrellas de San Nicolas, one of the best meal I have had in Spain. Amazing view, delicious food, attentive service, family ambience, everything you could ask for an elegant, relaxing, while delicate meal. Ambience: Definitely come early or make a reservation to get the best view. They have three floors - the window seat on both second and third floor are amazing. You get to see Alhambra palace, general life, and the city view all in once, accompanied with gorgeous Granada sunset. Food: Menu Set - 31 euro for an appetizer, entree, dessert, and coffee & tea accompanied. Entree choice includes cod, duck confit or oxtail stew. The steamed cod with cream coconut sauce was amazing! It's not the type of "melt in your mouth" but very unique flavor and texture. Appetizer has a variety of choice such as soup, salad, etc. I tried fried vegetable (my guess is eggplant) with honey, looks like French fries but tastes happiness. Dessert would be creme brûlée, crepe or ice-cream. Good quality as well. Service: They all speak really good English and the English menu is really clear. People are smiling and seems super happy when you finish the plate (which is my case ^^). Super good bread as well! Tip: 1. Sangria is strong here! 2. Treat your loved ones, or just yourself here after touring Granada. It will give your day the most beautiful end.

An unforgettable, amazing experience with the view of Alhambra!! Actually I tried to book the another similar one called El Huerto de Juan Ranas but already fully booked a week before. Ended up dining here, which is located just behind the former one! But they have similar view! I strongly recommend you should book both of them. We had a window seat on the 2nd floor, (but if I hadn't booked, I wouldn't have...) The food was amazing like everyone said, they were tasty also put efforts to look creatively beautiful. Not too expensive considering this view and quality. A Japanese guitarist came to play at around 9:00p.m, offered romantic nice atmosphere!!! There must have been many guys who proposed here ; ) I'd definitely love to be done, haha

My partner and I had the great pleasure of having dinner here on our first trip to Granada. We made the reservations about two months in advance and anxiously awaited our trip to Spain. When we made our reservations, we stated that we'd love a table with a great view of the Alhambra, but if that could not be accommodated, we completely understood. Imagine our joy when they sat us on the second floor, right against the window. What an amazing sight! Little did we know that we were in for the treat of our lives with the dinner. Our waiter, whose name escapes me I'm embarrassed to say, was amazing. I do recall he loves to visit Paris regularly. We began with a lovely bottle of Cava. Cava, and a great view of the Alhambra is a must in this lifetime. I ordered the ox tail with roasted potatoes and my partner ordered the venison. The ox tails were succulent, juicy, flavorful, and done to perfection, as were the potatoes. My partner related that the venison was amazing. Tender, rich, and not gamy at all. Dinner was incredible. We asked the waiter to recommend a red that would complement both the ox tail and venison. He pointed out one that he was is one of his favorites. It was a moderately priced red that was even better than he described. He was so on point with the wine, we asked him to pick our dessert. He brought us a chocolate dessert with fresh berries and crème. He is now my soulmate! After a full bottle of cava, a full bottle of red, two wonderful dinners and an out of this world dessert, I found the price to be amazingly moderate. I was more than happy. This restaurant should not be missed. I apologize that I didn't get a shot of my dinner prior to digging into it, but a meal like this waits for no one!!!

Food is delicious and staff is friendly. I would suggest taking a cab home if it's late at night. Just an eerie feeling walking down.

Colombian Spanish fusion food in Granada…read more What's not to like? * * * Much of the food was simple well executed stuff. A nice salmon on the plancha. A nice salad. Pineapple juice comes out of the bottle. But the bottle is a Spanish bottle, The pineapples are Spanish pineapples, And the Juice is served with ice cubes. On a 110 degree day, Good pineapple juice on the rocks was just what I needed. I drank a lot of the stuff. * * * The dish of distinction was the shrimp coquetel. Mexicans do lots of coquetels. I eat a ton of these back in Texas where I live. This Colombian-Spanish coquetel put my hometown coquetels to shame. It doesn't hurt that Spanish seafood is just better stuff than commercial Gulf of Mexico seafood. Good shrimp are good shrimp. But what made the dish magical is that the coquetel sauce was much more acidic than are comparable versions in the United States. You did not hear me say "lemony" or "citrusy". If you had said "mild vinegar" I might have believed you. The tart bite made the dish incredibly refreshing. Normally on a seafood cocktail, I am there for the shrimp and the sauce is garnish. Here, as good as the shrimp were - and they were good, the shrimp were the back-up band for the sauce. The sauce put life back into my body and hope back into my heart. It may have been 110 degrees outside - But I was ready for five sets of tennis ... Or maybe walking up to the Alhambra on my thumbs while juggling watermelons with my feet. I don't think they put Red Bull in coquetel sauces anywhere. But this was food that was truly reviving. * * * Minor note: Dessert was popsicles. Popsicles in Spain are strictly commercial - although artisanal ones do exist. They are thin rectangles of actual fruit on the stick with juice and flavors in the ice on the outside. We had one green mango popsicle and one tutti-frutti popsicle. I would have never thought I would be happy eating a commercial popsicle Rather than getting a chef-made kitchen-made dessert. But some popsicles are really good.

Located in the pleasant quarterone of Realejo, and close to the Moorish area Albayzin, this place offers a great variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Tapas and whole plates, it's very diverse. We had the mix of grilled vegetables and ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta, dressed with pesto-sauce. Lovely! Try the Rioja house-wine, it'll blow you away! Crowd (saturday) is a mix of yound and older locals as well as the same mix of tourists who don't mind a walk away from the Cathedral and the touristic restaurants nearby. The service is kind and relaxed, the furnish a mix of old secondhand stuff. But all in style. Would recommend Papaupu for sure!
