I hope that maybe early in the day many of the vendors just weren't in their work rhythm and got it together later for the crowds and that is a possibility of what happened. I don't feel it's necessary to rat out on some places that didn't perform well in this environment but not all but much of the food I tried I found inedible. A few places that I enjoyed last year put out terrible and ice cold food this year. One place that put out my husband's favorite bite latter in the day watered down the food so much it was terrible and didn't make my good food list just for that. A few places put out good food. Whiskey Rose Soleil at the Renaissance Amuse Bouche Shelly's Specialty Desserts Adams Natural Meats Everyone else (that I tried) I can tell a story about but won't. I left hungry and boozed up on generous amounts of really cheap wine to get my money's worth. (the type of wine you guzzle to avoid tasting) Got my tickets half priced and I still feel this way! Flavors of the West delivers some of the best local restaurants in the area each year, in an effort to educate our neighbors about all the great options we have out West- so maybe more will hang out here to eat, drink, and play instead of driving into Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, or Chandler to have their fun. There's plenty of amazing places to enjoy out here.. But, Flavors is unique. The detail around the festival is appreciated. The music is always good. The local chefs are usually the ones behind the booth, so you can get up and close to how they prepare their food, what they use, etc.. The lines can get long, so get there early so you have a chance to try as many places as you can. The restaurants all participate free of charge, but they have some steep costs to bring out their staff, equipment, and food to provide samples to Flavors patrons. For some, this might be their very first time participating in an event like this, so it's hard to judge year to year how consistent the options will be. But, it's nice to try new places and see what's new in the West Valley. The event gives back to charity. Matter of fact, 100% of the event proceeds benefit local charities in need. The organizers are all volunteers, and choose to host this event each year to bring the community together for a celebration of food, music, and friendship. The host, The Honey Foundation, is a home-grown charity that promotes Kindness across the World. They provide Kindness Education for K-12 students here in Arizona and across the United States and have already made a significant impact in decreasing disciplinary action in schools. It's awesome that there is now one in North Phoenix. Generally there are about 2-3 food trucks and a fashion truck in the Big Lots/Discount Tire parking lot on the NE corner of 32nd St & Cactus. They are there from 5pm-7:30pm. They are there every 1st and 3rd Tuesday. Since it's new, the crowd is scarce, but I'm hoping that word gets around so more people show up because I don't want this to go away!

She's always wanted to pet a highland and I got to make her dream come true! It was also very reasonably priced to experience the farm and feed the baby cows/goats. There's cows, goats, horses, pigs, chickens, etc. So many animals to experience! We went on a "farm day" so we also were able to shop at some of the local venders booths. I'd highly recommend for families or anyone wanting to spend time with farm animals! Well worth the drive from Glendale.

Wrestlemania 26 was my very first Wrestlemania that I ever attended so I was a newbie to how…read moreeverything worked! We ended up getting the Gold Wrestlemania Travel Package! The travel package came with reservations for a hotel where all the fans would be staying/we also got a special meet and greet with two of the wrestlers, tickets to the WWE Hall of Fame, ticket to axxess, and lastly, it came with tickets to the SHOWS OF SHOWS, WRESTLEMANIA! So first off, the hotel was beautiful! It had its own pop up shop where you could buy some Wrestlemania merch! I was able to meet many wrestlers over that weekend at Axxess such as: Christian, R Truth, Dusty Rhodes, Sgt. Slaughter and so many more! The Hall of Fame was definitely a special night and it was really cool to be able to get dressed up and go see the wrestlers who made wrestling what it is today get the recognition they deserve! Lastly, the show itself was amazing! My favorite match of the night was for sure John Cena vs Batista, as I am a huge John Cena fan! This wraps up the 1 of 7 Wrestlemanias I have attended in my life so far!

Cool fest to taste the food truck flavors of the Valley…read more The food festival was a Friday/Saturday affair. My wife, little girls, and I attended on Saturday. Bought a stack of sample tickets at one of the tents and we were on our way! The assortment of food trucks and vendors was a hoot. Our sampling included Cajun BBQ, Hot Mess sticky buns, kettle corn, cotton candy in crazy flavors, panini, sorbet, and even a piano lesson. There was a ton and I'm forgetting a good portion. Certainly worth a visit with friends. Traffic and parking weren't absurd and the Glendale Police folks were friendly. Afterwards, we stopped in the comic book shop for a couple comics for the girls with a Black Friday type sale they were having. Critiques: 1) ATMs charged a $5 fee, plus your banks. That's crazy. I walked to Bank of America across the street for a $3 fee... and less chance of card skimming. 2) A number of vendors stopped providing samples. And drink samples were very hard to find outside of tent areas where alcohol was served.
