History
Established in 2019.
I grew up in construction, spending summers on job sites with my grandfather and learning the trade from the ground up. After a few years in Colorado working in remodeling, basement finishing, and even real estate and mortgage work, I realized my true calling was building, not paperwork.
When my wife and I moved back to Illinois in 2017, we began flipping houses and turning that passion into a business. By 2019, I opened Josh Esters General Contractor, which has since grown into Esters General Contractor LLC—a trusted name in home remodeling across Galesburg and beyond.
Today, our company is a true family effort: my son works full-time on the crew, my wife runs the office with her mortgage and real estate background, our youngest kids keep life exciting, and our daughter is away at college pursuing her future. What started as one man with a hammer has grown into a family business built on craftsmanship, integrity, and community.
Meet the Business Owner: Josh E.
I’m Josh Esters, owner of Esters General Contractor. For me, this business is about more than building projects—it’s about building trust. I take pride in being hands-on with our crew, making sure every detail is done right, and treating each home like it’s my own. Clients know me for being straightforward, dependable, and committed to quality.
