Dr. John James is a really good doctor and my significant other has been seeing him for two years…read morenow. He's a big teddy bear of a guy and takes his time with you and listens. The staff here is super friendly and we love talking with them. My significant other comes at least once a month to get regular coumadin checks and sometimes sees James for a bevy of other health problems. Their office is really cute and it's in a quaint building. In the waiting room they have a big screen TV, fish tank, magazines. Another good thing about this place is there is no high overhead. The doctor is very reasonable to see. $60 dollars a visit is a great price for the uninsured.

Most of the time I went in for very minor things and all went smoothly. The staff is very friendly and super duper helpful! But, unfortunately, I stopped seeing Dr. James after a certain incident. I have chronic bronchitis, and get really bad chest/lung infections. I was having symptoms of a chest infection so I went into see the doctor. He listened to my chest front and back, and recommended I go home and rest while taking some Vitamin C. I knew that my lungs were very susceptible to infection and that there was something seriously wrong and asked for an antibiotic. He said he could write me one for Vitamin C. Later that day I went to East County Urgent Care and they did chest x-rays. I had pneumonia, and one of my lungs was nearly filled with fluid. The other was beginning to fill. I never went back.

The staff here are highly incompetent. They provide inaccurate information, poor communication…read moreskills, and unprofessional. I'm on a new insurance plan and I called the facility today to schedule an appointment. Two different representatives stated my insurance is not accepted there even though they didn't collect ANY information regarding my insurance besides the name of it. They also claimed they called the insurance provider and verified that they are NOT in network. I then told them I'm on my insurance providers website and it shows their facility as in-network, but the representative doubled down and adamantly claimed my insurance isn't accepted and that they already called the insurance provider and verified this info. I then stated that I'll call my insurance directly, and she hung up immediately without a word. I then called my insurance provider to verify as that seemed very suspicious, and the representative stated no one from Broadway Medical Clinic called their office at all. My insurance providers representative then requested I put the facility on the line so she can verify what the issue is. I initiated a conference call and had them speak to each other, and the representative at Broadway Medical Clinic lied AGAIN and stated that they haven't had a chance to call the insurance company, completely opposite of what they told me. After some back and forth between the two, Broadway Medical Clinic finally admitted they actually ARE in network and are able to see me. This took almost 30 minutes of back and forth calls just to verify a simple fact that should have been extremely easy to ascertain - whether they are in network of my insurance plan. The staff at this clinic lied multiple times and were extremely rude, just for them to be wrong at the end. All of this bullshit just to literally schedule a physical. Wow. Speaks a lot to their level of competence and how disrespectful the staff are. Stay far away from this place because if this is how they struggled with such a simple request, I can only imagine the nightmares of letting them deal with your physical health.

Look elsewhere for your care…read more Dr Benson and the NP Massanu are great. Vanessa is also kind. HOWEVER, if you need a refill or a referral, Good luck! The woman at the front desk named Julie wouldn't know how to deal with a human being if she were being paid to do so. When you try to reach the doctor's line, you just get a voice mail message telling you no one is available to take your call. Highly unprofessional. Will be leaving this clinic as it's just too difficult to get services here, and the front desk is rude.

I was in severe pain and repeatedly expressed that to Dr. Natasha Boydstun and Nurse Brenda. My pain was dismissed from the beginning. I was told to "just take Tylenol and ibuprofen" and that was the extent of their pain management plan. After receiving a tetanus shot (my first since 1998), I was told I would be sent home with basic bandaging supplies and Surgifoam for aftercare. They never gave it to me. Let me be clear: when someone is in severe pain and likely in shock, it is not their responsibility to remind medical staff to provide the supplies they themselves said they would give. That is basic follow-through and basic care. When my pain worsened, I called multiple times asking for help. Instead of addressing it, I was told I would need to go to the ER to be reevaluated for the same pain I had reported from the start. There was no empathy, no accountability, and no urgency. I have never felt so dismissed by a medical team in my life. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone seeking basic competent and compassionate care. Ironically, my pharmacist showed more compassion and concern than the medical team who treated me. She took the time to listen and speak to me kindly, something I never received at this urgent care. And honestly, after this experience, it's no surprise the ratings for this location are so low. I would NOT recommend being seen by either of those two medical so-called professionals to anyone in the community seeking urgent care.
