They scrub your car with a brush before you enter, which gets rid of most of the bug splatters that after taking my car through another soft cloth car wash at a competitor's gas station 3 times couldn't get rid of. The bumper still had some minor bug splatter and the trunk had a spot on it that didn't wash off. I spoke to the manager, and he told me that the the stain on the trunk needed to be remove with an abrasive fluid due to the type of stain it was. As for the front bumper, he said that he could have the guy with the brush scrub it harder, but there's a chance of scratching the car. He offered me another car wash, but I told him that if there's a chance of scratching my car, I'd rather leave it as-is. I typically get my car washes with points, so since car washes at Esso are cheaper in points than a competitor's station AND they do a better job at cleaning my car, I'm definitely returning to this gas station for a car wash in the future. I ultimately decided to do the latter when I saw this Petro-Canada gas station ahead on the left. I made a left turn and pulled in. I had no problem finding an available pump. I was pleased that that the gas price was four cents cheaper per litre than the gas stations in the vicinity. Go, cheapness! The area around the gas pump that I used was clean. I used my 407 ETR discount fuel card for the last time. It stopped issuing discounts to its customers during the pandemic, but I had a lot of litres left because I didn't travel all that much during this period. I save an extra three cents a litre off. I paid at the gas pump and also used my rewards points card. This gas station has a car wash. It also has a convenience store. I didn't need to use either during my brief visit, but it's good to know that they are there. I was pleased to have a full tank of gas in my car as I continued heading down to Riverdale. The car washes now all rush you through and do not rinse the car clean and leaves a lot of soap residue that is blown up during the drying process. This location does not participate in the evening price drop that many other stations now seem to operate... but with the proximity to the 401/404 they get plenty of traffic to not pass on the extra incentives to come by during the evening lull.
