However the Petro Canada is a much better stop in most respects (lighting, service, store & washrooms). The bathroom is bigger, cleaner and better ventilated than those of many restaurants & coffee shops in the are never mind other gas stations. Also I have never once encountered a grumpy, unprofessional or shiftless attendant at this location which can't be said for many gas stations. There are other stations in the Richmond Hill area which compete with price on & off - the corners of Bayview/MajorMac and Bayview/16th have been "hot" in recent weeks, the Shell at Leslie/16th used to be the cheapest but it's been inconsistent ever since that big overnight 10 cent jump earlier in the year. However it is only at these Yonge & Weldrick pumps that you can always count on the markdown. Why not 5 stars? Like most stations the last 10 years, the Air Pump is not maintained. And just last week during the -11c night the windshield cleaning stations froze solid because they failed to replace the diluted mix with 100% winter fluid. I consider most gas stations worthy of only 2 stars, NONE of them meet my expectations for an industry with a license to print money. But this is place has the fewest peeves and combined with saving $3-$4 per tank on Top Tier gas, it's definitely one of the best.

There's a Petro-Canada that I have frequented a number of times across the street. It felt like a gas war happening at Bayview and 16th avenues. There were plenty of available gas pumps when I was here. I had no problem entering my phone number associated with my PC Optimum card, followed by paying with a credit card. Pumping gas was smooth. This gas station was clean and cheerful for a gloomy, rainy afternoon. This gas station has a car wash. It was doing swift business while it was spitting rain. Night time price drops are becoming increasingly common in areas of Thornhill & Richmond Hill between Yonge & Leslie. Other recent hotspots include the corners Bayview/16th, Bayview/Major Mac, Shell on 16th/Leslie the areas of Yonge/Steeles & Yonge/Weldrick (most dependable). This particular station has a large capacity so you're almost never likely to wait for a pump, it has a good deal of driveway space around the pumps, and people going to the store have places to park with sufficient space away from entering/exiting traffic (unlike the poorly designed sibling on the Bayview/Hitech side). The vast majority of operators in the GTA hold the line of the same price so I think it's worthwhile for the consumer to keep a list of locations who offer small discounts from their own margins and reward them with increased sale volume whenever it practical to do so. It may be only $7-$9 a month but it's money I'd rather spend on some coffees or waffles.

On Saturday, I was running errands and noticed that the low fuel warning was lit on my dashboard. I was driving along highway 7 and recalled this station. I pulled in. I have visited this gas station a number of times over the years, but well before my time on Yelp. This place is just in front of a bunch of box stores, such as Winners and Staples. The downside is going eastbound along highway 7 and making a left turn to get to this Petro-Canada. There is a ton of traffic approaching in the opposite direction that it is a wait before you can carefully turn to pull into the station. I like that the bays are wide and that there are many. I had no problem finding an available pump. I filled up and paid at the pump. It was uneventful, but smooth. This station is clean. I was happy that my car's gas tank was full again. (89)

They have 4 grades of gas and also diesel. We came to this gas station because it was 5 to 7 cents cheaper than most gas stations in a 15 km radius. Actually there is an Esso a major block south that has the same price but that was out of our way. Tip: I use the "GasBuddy" app to find cheaper gas. The station was bright and clean. It has windshield squeegee using water (wasn't soapy water). There is a touchless car wash and it must be popular because there was a lineup of 8 cars at 8:00 pm on a Sun. I spotted this Petro-Canada and dropped by. I have visited this location for a number of years. I never have had a problem filling up here. There is always a free pump for me to use. The area is clean. All is well. I didn't have a chance to walk into the convenient store. It looked pretty busy, as I saw a number of folks park in front of it, go in, and come out. This location has a car wash. I typically don't use it, as the rollers produce swirl marks that are noticeable, especially on dark-coloured cars. I'm a hand-wand person who likes getting a workout as my car gets washed. (424)

Located right on the north east corner of Jane and Major Mack, this gas station as several do in…read morethe area have a lower cost than most of the areas I see such as Burlington and Etobicoke. The cost per liter here is roughly about 5 to 7 cents LESS than the stations I see more often again in both Burlington and Etobicoke and I'm talking Shells so it's apples to apples. This station has 8 pumps but they are sort of at an angle so depending on which side of the pump you need it may be a little more effort maneuvering to the pump given the space and how people are trying to leave. If you want to go north your best bet is to exit at the Jane side and make a right (only choice). If you want to go west your best bet it so exit off the Major Mack side as you can only go north on the Jane and make a right. This station is basically only "safely accessible" if going west on Major Mack or north on Jane since there are all sort of road dividers blocking access in being that it's right at a corner. It's close to the 400 so if you're going to juice up going up north or back down from up north it's a good idea to gas up here and get cheaper gas than in the city. Don't forget they take Airmiles and they have diesel here too.

That being said - this station lowers it's prices in the afternoon by about 4 cents a litre. Pretty freakin' awesome! It also fills up the car quickly, unlike some stations where the gas runs slower when you have people filling up on both sides. This is always my first choice to stop on my way home from work. With gas prices so high, it's worth waiting until the afternoon and waiting in a line up to pay less - especially with how often I need to fill up!
