Pioneer

Pioneer

It's been a long time since I've been to a Pioneer. I started using it in 2020 when I started with…read morethe Journey reward program but I found it being like a scene points incentive, where you have to force yourself to gas up before your achievement expires. I went to this pioneer to fill, my associate used it and said, hey can you help me my card doesnt work. So I got out of the car and tried Tap on #6, didnt work. Then I tried inserting my card with two failed oin attempts. That's weird. So we went ahead and gassed up and paid inside. The attendant was forth coming by calling me out as #6. I said to him, your machine doesnt work. He looked at me with an "I dont give and f***" look. So I responded back to him, okay I'll post a Yelp review to inform other people. Caution. #6 doesnt take tap or pin entry. If you're a female customer like me, you know how important it is to be able to pay at the machine not in the convenience store. It is so easy to get overpowered and cornered in a gas station past midnight. Thankfully, I am with a male associate and someone was keeping an eye on me. This is a frequent problem I've had with Pioneer, including lonely attendants hand touching patron hands (yes apparently they get a high out of it). So be careful ladies. Shameless plug, I've enjoyed the Esso Speedpass App. It allows a screen touch free authorization on screen with receipt in email and allows easy joining to the pc optimum and the retiring esso program. Will be telling my associate to use that next time. 2 star dropped to 1 star, attendant was not following wearing a mask. He wore his mask on his chin. :(

Petro-Canada

Petro-Canada

July 23, 2016, we attended the Petro-Canada Gas Station, 900 Jamieson Pkwy, Cambridge, Ontario…read moreowned by Jeff Mailette who currently owns roughly 13 franchises. We redeemed our Petro Points for a car wash. After the car wash, we noticed scratches to the rear driver panel that was installed December 2015. We immediately brought to the attention of the staff at Petro Canada who was very understanding and acted professionally. They witnessed the damage that we alleged happened through the car wash. We were told to return the next day and speak with the manager, which we did. Chantelle acknowledged the damage and stated she would have to speak to Jeff at this time we thought he was the manager but he turned out to be the owner. Chantelle told us to return the next day, which we did. After speaking to Jeff they concluded that the damage caused was consistent with the way the brushes move during the car wash. Chantelle stated that Jeff would be calling us in a day or so, which he did. Jeff stated if the damage was $100.00 he had no problem with that but if it was more he would have to witness it. After that conversation, he called a few days later and with no advance notice that he was in the area and that he wanted to look at the damage. I(Barbara) went out to talk to him, he admitted the truck was in good shape. After speaking to him for a few minutes my other half John who is Black came out, everything changed. He now stated the damage was caused by a cloth. The way he was talking to John, John felt insulted and went back in the house to de-escalate the situation. Jeff Maillette left and said he would discuss with his colleagues and said he would get back to us. He called us back and stated that he would not accept any liability but he would have to do it his way. We could not come to terms as to how the damages would be paid for, therefore a small claims court was filed. A Settlement Conference was scheduled for Jan. 10, 2017. Jeff Mailette stated the car wash was touch-less. The Deputy Judge advised both parties to make amendments to both the statement of claim and the statement of defence. During the settlement conference, the Deputy Judge made an order that the statement of claim and the statement of defence had to be amended filed and served within 20 days. Jeff Maillette violated the order that, gave me the default judgment. Jeff served his amended statement of defence went down to the courthouse and perjured himself by stating that he served me in person when in fact he left the amended statement of defence on my doorstep. This is improper service. In fact, it is against the Rules of Civil Procedure and The Courts of Justice Act. I went down to the courthouse and advised the courts I was not properly served, that Jeff Mailette altered his statement of defence, entering new statements of defence, part of the documents were handwritten, he removed a large copy of photographic evidence that depicted the damage to the truck and replaced with a much smaller picture of photographic evidence where the damage was not noticeably visible. A second settlement conference was set for May 18, 2017, during this settlement conference Jeff Mailette stated he offered a settlement but he failed to tell the judge that he did not put it in writing. The Judge stated that the offer of settlement has to be put in writing and ordered both parties to make an offer of settlement. The falsifying of documents is totally unacceptable according to the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Courts of Justice Act. Due to Jeff Maillette's unethical behaviour of committing fraud and perjury and now entering into evidence a video of the car wash showing that it was not touch-less car wash and that he was lying at the pretrial and there does not allow that the rules of civil procedure do not allow and the Courts of Justice Act would not allow evidence from the pretrial to be entered as evidence at the trial. It is my opinion that Jeff Maillette is a racist and a bigot, once he saw that my other half was black and his opinion of the facts around the damage to my truck changed. I tried everything to reach an amicable and equitable settlement. I even tried to appeal to Jeff's common sense by letting him know that when he had his grand opening to launch his new franchise that I was second place winner and loyal customer ever since that day, I spent $3500.00 - $4000.00 in gas, food etc., a year. I even suggested that I would remove the cost of the car rental which was $258.00 if he would just meet me half way. He stated no. Minutes before the court was to start I made the same offer to Jeff to settle the case, it was if he knew he was going to win. I do not believe there is another legitimate business owner that would not have seen the common sense of settling the matter out of court and keeping a loyal customer. I believe there was another reason, and I believe that reason was that my other is black and Jeff Maillette is a racist.
