Story: I brought in my Cadillac to get a leak looked at after firestone noted a oil leak on my car during an oil filter change. I scheduled a time and got Mclaughlin Cadillac to do the assessment of where my oil leak is coming from. Mclaughlin Cadillac diagnosed it as coming from my steering gear, oil pan and the oil filter adapter housing. Their team recommended that I repair the oil filter adapter housing and monitor the other leaks. I scheduled the repair based on their recommendation. They completed the repair and I got my car back. It cost approximately 900 USD with the initial assesssment. Upon the first initial return, I noted that the leaking was much worse than when I had originally given it to them. They agreed to have me bring the car back in and assess the problem and see what was causing it. McLaughlin Cadillac scheduled me to bring my car back on 7 MAR 24. Mclaughlin Cadillac had my car from 7 MAR 24 to 27 MAR 24. I was told they identified a manufacturing defect with one of the gaskets, they replaced it and gave it back to me. They said they drove the car and ran it idled for 45 minutes and said there was no leak. Upon returning home on 27 MAR, I checked to see if there was a leak. Yes, there was still a leak. I called McLaughlin and brought it back to them the very next day. They put my car up on the rack and said the leak was now coming from my front cover, steering gear, oil pan, rear main, different cooler lines and possibly a valve cover. It's odd that there was now a leak from many different locations not originally identified when they put dye in the engine to see where the leaks were coming from. I asked for a quote for all of this and when they could get me in for repair. They said best case was mid to end of April. Upon coming back with the list of issues, I was told that the manager of Mclaughlin Cadillac would be declining to do the work on the car because my 2012 is "too old" and "things would keep breaking" and that Cadillac recently released a new policy that prevented them from doing large jobs on Cadillacs older than 2017. This is highly unusual and fairly suspect, it doesn't appear they know what the root cause of the leaks are in the first place. It also speaks poorly to the cadillac brand as when services are most necessary, cadillac will stop working on your car entirely based on their "new" policy. The repair that originally took one day, the second go around took them 3 or so weeks and now they won't even touch the vehicle leading me to believe they caused more issues they now don't want to fix. Steer clear of Mclaughlin, questionable business practices, ultra slow service - which seems low quality. You will likely have issues with whatever service you recieve from them. Additional Information: The owner has previously replied to this review in other venues stating that we "mutually agreed" that I would seek repairs elsewhere. This is untrue, as I was never given the option despite my willingness to pay for the "identified" repairs. Their manager, according to Sam at their dealership, said they would not service my Cadillac.

Due to a shortage of parts and inventory due to the COVID fallout, I had to be put on an allocation list with a fully refundable $500 deposit. Jeff explained exactly how it worked and would keep me up to date monthly as to how things were going. Jeff did as he said he would. He contacted me monthly to let me know where I was on the allocation list. The one thing I appreciated was that Jeff did not try to push another model on me just to make the sale. After about five months, I received my first call from Jeff letting me know that they had an allocation of the model I wanted but the car did not have the exact extra's I wanted. Over the next two months, I would receive three more calls for new allocations and that I was finally #1 on the list for the model I requested. I still passed because I had already waited this long so I might as well wait until the vehicle I specifically wanted was available. In month eight, I received the call that the exact car I wanted with all of the correct upgrades was available and I was given a build date. Three weeks after the build date, the car was at the dealership. I showed up a few days later to pick it up. Jeff met me and we went through all of the necessary details along with a test drive of the vehicle in question. After the test drive, I met with the financial officer and negotiated my loan in addition to just a few optional upsells options. Tip..... the extended warranty is negotiable. Soon after I met with Jeff again and I was on my way home with my new car. All of the staff I came across while I was there were nice and accommodating. Nobody is pushy. The experience was excellent and should I ever buy a new Toyota again, I will definitely come to this dealership first. I would provide the parts and everything needed to install on the vehicle. I was quoted 7hours since the transmission needed to be removed to install a new slave cylinder. I called on October 27th and they stated they had about a week worth of work to complete before they would be able to pick up additional jobs. I had no problem with this as I decided to make the appointment for November 13th (17days from appointment call). Time comes to have my vehicle towed and it's dropped off early morning Monday November 13th. I figured I'd give them time and let them work to complete the job. Friday November 17th comes and I hadn't heard anything from them so I call and receive an update. Moline transmission stated they had a couple call ins during the week and they hadn't touched my car. Not a horrible issue but I figured they had plenty of time to finish. I understand things happen. Following week of November 20th, they begin the work. Once again I figure 7hrs at a leisure pace the job should be done right in time for me to have the car before Thursday thanksgiving. I decide to call on Wednesday afternoon and ask for an update. Moline transmission stated they're tidying everything up and they're doing their best to have it done by close of business day 5pm as they are closed for thanksgiving. 5pm comes around and I never hear anything. At this point I figure I'll go to the shop on Friday to see what the delay is. I go to shop Friday morning and they have a sign saying they are closed both Thursday and Friday as well as the weekend as they only work Monday-Friday. At this point I'm disappointed, I believed I could have a reputable shop complete the work in a timely manner as I would have believed they had sufficient time. (Let it be noted there was a hiccup in parts provided yet that was quickly resolved in less than 1hr) I was told because of this they needed to move on to another vehicle and put my car on hold. Monday November 27th I call again for an update and they once again state they're still working on the car and should have it done today. More time passes on and no call. Finally, Wednesday November 29th I am frustrated because I haven't received my car , I was told 2 times on separate days they should have the car done by end of business but yet they continued to work on it. The update for today was they are letting it sit as it has been bled and will be test driven later in the day to ensure the work was done properly. The car had been sitting at the shop since November 13th and the job was finally completed November 29th. I had my car in storage and placed the vehicle back on full coverage insurance because it was going to be driven publicly again. Due to the excessive length of time it was being worked on I felt as if I needed to place the vehicle back on storage insurance as it seemed that's what I was paying for. I gave moline transmission a 17day notice of my car being dropped off. They had the car for 16/17 days from drop off. The job was quoted 7hrs, moline transmission stated they worked on the car much longer than 7hrs and the job wasn't going the way they would have liked but only were going to charge me the 7hrs. I believe they understood this isn't the service they want to provide. In the end the job itself was completed well as my car returned to proper function. The timeliness to complete my car was very poor. If you are able to be without your car for over half a month then they'll work with you. If you have a timeline seek other options. This was my experience and I understand others have better/worse experiences.
