I used to really like this shop, until last year. It was the sort of place that was not much more than a pound shop, but it had more choice and more goods.
Now, however, its been taken over, or passed to a new generation within the same family of business owners, I'm not sure which - it does, at least, still feel like a family business.
But the price range has gone up, markedly so. It still sells wooden hangers, for instance - but now they're £1.99 for two. Only two! They sell the size of bubble wrapped envelopes used to post CDs in the mail - but they're £2 for 5. I was appalled, and found them 25% cheaper down the road - at Ryman's, of all places, which tells you how expensive this place now is.
There are some more expensive home electronics type goods, but only someone who was trapped by ill-health and age to shop very locally would buy them. Not a recommended shop, sadly. read more
