We went specifically to get a plum tree. We got a lovely shaped specimen and were given good advice about planting and pruning. The chap we were speaking to also recommended a couple of jasmines and we bought a few annuals too. He kindly tied up the tree and helped us into the car with it. The creepers and tree have really taken hold in our garden, thanks to the good advice, and are growing nicely this year. We're hoping to make another trip out to Thompsons later this summer.

The shop area houses a large range of garden furniture, water features, books and gifts as well as a large range of house plants including orchids and some exotic species. There are also many types of garden compost and accessories including paving and stoneware for garden landscaping. Overall a very pleasant place to browse for your gardening needs.

It was really a surprise for me, since I didn't expect the beautiful Christmas market, the amount of people during a weekday and the amazing delicatessen where they offer so many tasty products, all of very god quality. I don't give it 5 stars because of three things: we were disappointed we couldn't get into the ice rink due to the amount of people, they don't have a proper bicycle parking and, even though at first I was excited about seeing the reindeer, I think animals shouldn't be kept locked in such tiny spaces. Reindeer are herd animals that migrate through extensive areas. It was a bit sad to see them. Anyway, the rest of the place is very cool. We bought some Christmas decorations and some things for the plants, and had delicious pies. Really nice place.

An appalling company to engage with - 6 months to get 4 bedrooms, a landing and stair carpeted…read more Very briefly, the things which went wrong are: Stained carpets Lost carpets (warehouse) Damaged carpets (warehouse) Failed to deliver (shutters in warehouse wouldn't open) Rudeness from staff Lies from staff The CEO, feels that the £100 compensation I got for the first mistake (laying stained carpets) is sufficient. To add insult to injury, you are not permitted to take the matter further (i.e. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)) unless Carpetright agree - of course my dispute is with Carpetright so why would they give permission. A silly system which only serves to support the shoddy business practices of Carpetright. No wonder the business is on the brink of administration.
