I had an awful experience with this office. My tax return consisted of only a W-2 and 1098. No dependents, deductions or additional paperwork. I was charged over $400 for one labor hour. In the previous 5 years, I paid around $100 for a very similar return at this office, so the increase was shocking and was never disclosed.
When I respectfully questioned the charge in person, I was told I was wrong, and they would never charge that little. They went to the back to ask and they confirmed I was correct. Instead of honoring the previous price they told me to "grow up" and "welcome to adulthood". I am a 21 year old student. There was no apology, no effort to address my concerns, and no attempt to make the situation right. I understand that prices can change, but customers deserve more professionalism than this.
I was called later in the evening by Cris Nelson, who told me I should have been amused by the comments, and was probably being too sensitive. She told me the price is the price and I should know thats what a tax office would charge me. She told me there was nothing she would or could do for me going forward.
This place is unprofessional and is ran out of an old home. I suggest going anywhere else. read more
