I made an appointment with Perry Cronin, and gave him all relevant paperwork. About a week later I received a phone call from Mr. Cronin, and he told me that not only did I NOT owe the IRS $6000, but they owed ME $6000!!! It took almost 3 years for my case to be settled, but Mr Cronin handled it all for me, and I finally got my $6000 direct deposited to my bank account. After getting their estimate of a best case scenario, I contacted the IRS and "negotiated" a payment about 25% less. I've either missed my calling as a negotiator or this is a completely useless service. The payment I ended up with is what the IRS guy told me in a 10 minute phone conversation. I would have been so much better off to save my money. I heard this guy advertised on Hugh Hewitt and thought it had to be a good situation. Call the IRS yourself first, and use the $1500 toward the balance you owe.

I couldn't have been more wrong. My tax documents were submitted on May 18th. Originally, I worked with Carter, who promised completed taxes by early July. However, my June 1st request for an appointment was completely ignored. He never answered calls, emails, or messages. The only way to get an update was to physically go into the office 2 or 3 times--where he repeatedly assured me I was "at the top of the list" and promised completion "next week." After being strung along until early August, I sent a message stating I was moving on to a new accountant. Lyndsay then stepped in, expressed empathy for my frustration, and promised to wrap up my return by August 5th. Unfortunately, the cycle repeated. The final straw was a firm commitment to deliver the completed return by the end of the day today, which passed without a single word, phone call, or update. I have wasted over three months with this firm. I would rather start completely from scratch with someone new than listen to one more empty promise.
